When I tell you I may have never had a proper Alfredo sauce until this place- you'll think I'm joking, but I am not. I got their fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli, minestrone soup, and garlic cheese bread. I'd been cleaning all day and decided to treat myself to some high calorie takeaway- big yay! I immediately dove into the cheese bread and I gotta say: I *love* the care they used to wrap it with wax or parchment paper so that the cheese didn't end up on the wrapping. It is so simple but also so thoughtful and I hugely appreciated it! A but salty and insaaaaanelu cheesy and garlicky, I'm glad it only came with 3 pieces because boy were those RICH. I had one and then the next two spread over the next two days. So good! The pasta was nicely cooked and hit the perfect balance with the pasta:chicken:broccoli ratio. And the sauce- ooooh boy. That is theee most perfectly emulsified cream sauce on this side of the 10. Bar none! The next two days my leftovers' sauce didn't even think of separating. It stayed a gloriously thick and creamy consistency which has never happened with my takeaway food before! It's always separated and this alone has made me a fan of theirs. I wasted my cheat day on this, and I'm so mad I want to go to war. And I'll never believe those "Best of" LA articles again. This place is on 2 different best pizzas lists, and it's *terrible* 1. Greasy. I have never ever had a pizza with pockets of grease. My 3rd bite, I bit into a grease pocket, and BOOM, there's a river of oil running down my face. There's so much grease it leaked through the parchment paper AND the delivery box 2. Soggy. Soggy greasy slices, flapping in the wind. The slice can't hold its own weight because it's so heavily soaked in greasy 3. Sour. Lord, forgive me, I don't wanna say it, but this is some BS. Sour sauce. There was a tartness that was out of place in the flavor palate. 4.Chewy. The dough was undercooked. Obviously, with a grease soaked undercooked pizza, it's bound to be chewy, too. As I chewed...and chewed, I also mentally chewed on the life choices that led me down this path where I found myself gnawing on nasty grease pocket pizza dough. 5. The cheese was hot but congealed at the same time. Didn't really melt and had no taste of its own. I've never met cheese like this. I'm genuinely awestruck at how many things were wrong with this pizza. 6. Flavorless. Bland. That's another reason I'm suspicious about that cheese because cheese has its own flavor that adds to pizza, but this cheese tasted like absolutely nothing. At the very least, where's the salt? Oregano? Basil? Thyme? 1 pinch of any herb or spice will do. All in all, this was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had in my life. I ate 1 1/2 slices and threw the rest away. The wings left a lot to be desired, but I poured my own wing sauce on them, which made them taste better. I have thrown so much pizza in the trash it's ridiculous. I'm trying not to throw the rest of the slices in the trash, but I have a strong feeling that's where they are going. No sense in eating food I don't like. I don't need the empty calories. Overall, I give up on finding good pizza that delivers to my home. I will stick with Firenza, DTLA near the office, or when I'm home and want pizza, I'll make the drive to Rosario's, which is kind of far, but worth the drive.
