I did not have high expectations after reading the 'oh its ok' reviews. I ended up on Ponce today and decided to drop in and WOW was I ever blown away. First the atmosphere was very laid back and friendly. Open and clean. Nice selection and friendly staff. THEN came the food - holy cow bat man. The bowl was easily enough for two people, and here I am nearly 4 hours later still talking about how great it was - and still full with a doggie bag or bowl as the case may be in my refrigerator. I ordered a vegan special and the soup alone was worth the price. I think I am going to 'end up' around ponce a lot more often. I really like eating here. My favorite is the fried rice (with chicken), comes with onions, egg, zucchini, soy beans. Yummy. I also like to veggie rolls and miso soup. Their menu has changed (again) and some of my favorites were left off. It's very casual, sit inside or out. Caution, the outside chairs are not comfortable. Staff is ALWAYS attentive, nice, friendly and quick. Parking is usually a problem since this is located in downtown Decatur. Our most recent visit was disappointing since it appears there is a shortage of chicken in the Decatur area. Rice was terrific as always, but misses his friend Chicken. I had a 200.00 order to celebrate a birthday and pharmacy week at my job. When door dash arrived only half of the order was there. I called to attempt and have the issue resolved and was told there was no way to contact the driver. Finally contact was made and we asked what type of compensation we could expect since. Half of our order was unavailable and there were still several people waiting to eat. I asked would any additional menu items be available? The answer was, "we're not sure about that." I then received my second order and it still was incorrect. I ordered soup and was given salad and i asked for 4 different rolls of sushi. When I called back this time. I was told "we think we got everything right...we checked the bags." I just gave up...but if you have a large order or a special occasion. Be sure to follow up! read more

Didn't eat here for a long time because a curry meal I had gotten was not good. I decided to give it another shot because my friend wanted to have it for dinner. We enjoyed a very good dinner. I had two sushi rolls that were delicious and we shared an appetizer of crab ragoons and they went great with the spicy chili sauce. The service was good for the dinner as well. I decided to return here for lunch with friends a following day that week and was disappointed in the service. It was lunch break and we had order to go not thinking we would have time to have lunch that day. When we ended up getting time to have a full lunch break we though it would be nice to eat on the patio. When we go in to get our food and someone else in the group was ordering while we were there, we were informed we could not stay on the property to eat our food because it was take out. Even though someone in our group was eating right then and ordering right then we as a group were not allowed. I can understand the reason behind it, however I do not understand the wait staffs rude and blunt interaction with us. She was very rude to us even when I had first inquired if I could order a drink to go with my food and sit outside on the patio. It was a nice surprise to me to get a full lunch break and she put an unpleasant taste on the whole thing. The food is good but the service needs improvement. One of the biggest reason she gave me during her explanation of why I could sit outside with a drink was because people don't tip. I tried Noodle on a whim one day after work... The service was great; they were friendly on the phone and only took 8 minutes to have my order ready for take out. They were really nice at the restaurant as well. The food was a bit too salty for my tastes and also a bit on the expensive side. They do offer some nice vegetarian/vegan options so I guess that is a plus. But the cost and the food being okay will probably keep me from going again. read more

My daughter found this place as we wanted to go somewhere a little different. We found a real gem here...the service was exceptional and the portion size is huge for the price. Loved this place for its unique atmosphere and menu! All staff we came into contact with, from the hostess to the waitress, were very friendly and at the time we arrived here, all of Decatur was on some sort of water contamination watch, so although our first choice, Siam, closed due to this problem, Noodle provided us with bottled water. The food was amazing! I made my own bowl with egg noodles, spicy thai sauce, chicken, broccoli, and potatoes! This gentleman, who I assumed to be the manager, came over to talk with us about the water problem and asked us if we were enjoying ourselves. This little act of "above and beyond" definitely made my experience worth the trip and I was kind of glad Siam was closed (although I still love that place) so that we could find this gem. Food was great and service was great too. We came in on a Friday night and the restaurant was 50% full. We ordered the Thai iced tea and the lemon ginger soda- both of which were delicious (not sweet which is exactly how we prefer to have them). Ordered the veggie sushi for starter but they had a print machine failure and the sushi chef didn't make the order. The main dish ordered was the peanut noodle and was very nice but nothing to tell home about. Overall 4 stars for good staff, good food and great drinks. read more

I love this place. Granted, I go there when I want specific items, but that item is perfection, so it works for me. I love their spring rolls. Just like Spoon Eastside, somehow they find a way to be fresh and non greasy. But what I get here, that I can't find anywhere else, is the Spicy Thai Basil noodles with chicken. The mixture of the sweet and the heat is just phenomenal. Everything tastes fresh although it never takes too long to get my meal. And there's so much that I can't even mention price (which is decent comparatively) since I get two meals out of each order. The last time we went I was a bit irritated, we had never had an issue with seating before. But it took forever and the host didn't really try to find a way to remedy the problem. To start the night off, we went into The Noodle on a Friday night expecting it to be lively; however, there were barely any people there which made me skeptical of why. We walked up to the bar to order our food to-go. The bartender refused to acknowledge us and we had to say something to prompt her to even take our order...Strike #1. When she finally acknowledged us, she told us to hold on for a second. This would have been completely understandable if she was very busy, but it seemed like she tried to find every other task to complete to avoid serving us...Strike #2. And finally, after about 20 minutes of waiting for our food, we saw a take-out bag sitting on the food counter. We saw it sitting there for about 5 minutes so we decided to ask if that order was ours. Sure enough it was...Strike #3. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant. We had to prompt the employee to take our order, she seemed like she could care less about the customers, and when our food came, WE had to ask for it. I don't know what The Noodle's standards for customer service are, but I was definitely disappointed and we felt as though WE were being an inconvenience to the employee. We ordered the fried veggie pot stickers, calamari, and dynamite shrimp specialty. Each dish was tasteless and mediocre. So overall, we had horrible customer service and bad food. I love this place. I found them on Scout Mob, and I'm glad I did! They have a good variety of pan-asian/Asian-American options, and for the price it's a great meal. I can take my family here and everyone finds something they like. I enjoy doing their build a bowl, which lets you pick your starch, protein, veggies, and meat/tofu. It's a good portion, and I really love their peanut sauce (which has a bit of kick and is like a yellow curry). The dumplings are also good. I wasn't impressed by their spring rolls (could buy the box at the farmers market and fry the same thing). I think it would help them if they described their sauces better on the menu, and also the differences between the noodles (I think their Egg Noodle is like a lo-mein noodle, and my family was expecting something totally different), and I know people have thought the peanut sauce is their yellow curry sauce (it isn't), so I think if they mentioned the flavors of each sauce a bit, that would help people choose better and remove disappointment. Just ordered the miso Ramen, spicy beef soup, and fried rice. As soon as I got the bag from the delivery driver the miso soup fell through the bag. From the little taste I got from the container it was disgusting and inedible. The beef soup isn't good either. The noodles for the soups is probably the worst I've ever had. I mean how are you called noodle and your noodles are so disappointing?!? I'm at a loss of words this might be the most disappointing dining experience I've ever had. Terrible, terrible, terrible. My family and I walked in and were seated rather quickly. Sat down at a dirty table, but figured they would clean it before they brought water and took our order. Nope. Sat at our table for 20 minutes without a peep out of anyone. No greeting, no water, nothing at all. Went to the front to ask the "host" if he could send someone to our table and that still didn't do the trick. Several waiters/waitresses kept passing us by.......no service. We come once a month to this location. Have been to several Noodle- each a little different. This one is consistently hit or miss. Tonight, not so great. I've been to this location a few times over the years, very intermittently, and every time, I hope it's not as bad as I remember. Well, It is. We ordered Lenny's Noodle and Crunch Beef. The flavor was decent enough but our dishes were SOOOOO SALTY. Don't get me wrong. I'm not shy about seasoning my food but l practically had salt burns on my tongue after dinner. They kinda tingled. If anyone comes on a regular basis, I guarantee they'll be in the hospital soon. I can also guarantee they've probably had their taste buds destroyed by the salt lick they just consumed with dinner. Noodle is a cute little restaurant with American style Thai food. I got the calamari appetizer with plum sauce, which was darn tasty. There were alot of family members there with their children, so it's kid friendly. From the looks of the menu, it is vegetarian friendly as well, having options of veggie bowl, adding chicken, beef or pork as options. Parking in downtown Decatur can be somewhat annoying, hence I wouldn't be coming back here anytime soon.. if you are looking for a fast eat.. this place is super fast. Placed an order via GrubHub. The delivery fee of $6.99 was totally overpriced IMO but my daughter wanted to order from there so.it was fine. The issue was with the food that we received. I was so ready for a bowl of fresh veggies and rice when my waitress rudely told my friend and I that they changed their menu and were absolutely UNWILLING to make any substitutions or concessions. Two friends and myself ate here early one Tuesday night. The place was fairly empty - maximum 12 customers including ourselves. After being seated by the hostess we waited at least 15 minutes before our server came over to greet us. She was very friendly and brought our food out fairly quickly, but then didn't check on us at all until we asked for the check. The food was very salty - as it was the last time I ate here, even though I chose a different dish. We used a Scoutmob, which says a 18% gratuity may be added on to the bill. After we left we realized a 19.2% gratuity was added onto our bill - for 3 people! Ridiculous. I have no plans to come back soon. read more

I eat noodle quite frequently around the city. I decided to give the Decatur location a try today because I was starving and it was closest to my last meeting. I decided to try something new and I didn't like it. Mostly because the ramen noodles as described were not ramen and were more like spaghetti. When I asked for something else the manager stated I would need to pay half for the dish I took two bites out of. After I killed a spider on my table. She then goes on to say you don't get to just come in any restaurant and try dishes until you like them. I was highly offended and expressed that I come to noodle frequently and I didn't like my dish because it wasn't ramen unlike the menu displayed. She then decides to give me "one" time to change my meal. After ordering what I always order the Curry noodle soup. I realized that this location is just not good. The food was no where near the quality I'm used to. Anywho, my server was amazing, the manager and food was not. I will not be returning to the Decatur location. read more

FIRST: If you say you want to eat "authentic Asian" food you are probably the same person that says he/she speaks "Asian" NO! Steamed pork dumplings were really good. soy sauce was good but would have loved a spicy chili oil dip Spicy cucumbers were surprising good. Spicy and pickled with just enough crunch. Basil Noodles with chicken. Ask for them spicy and it's the perfect amount of heat and spice Peanut Noodles with pork. I didn't think these combo would be good, but Hubby wolfed these down. Service: On point. Haven't been greeted when walking into a restaurant in a while and it was genuinely nice. Quick and efficient. I'll definitely be back as I hadn't been here in awhile. I can sum this place up in one word: underwhelming. The food was alright, but nothing special. My server was borderline obnoxious (think of that guy Brian from the movie Office Space http://bit.ly/11FNx1W, errr... yeah). Like, there's being nice and then there's being disingenuous and overly hype about the food you're hawking for the sake of a tip (which was included on the tab- 18% because I used a scoutmob) but whatever. So, main unhappiness was the fact that I explicitly told the server that I had a shellfish allergy when I was ordering my food, was told that the Tom Yum Koong soup would not contain any of the stuff because I asked if it could be made without the plops of shrimp and yet the soup contained fish sauce. Um, really? Don't act all jazzed about your food when you don't know what's in it, chick. Fish sauce contains shellfish and when you have an anaphylaxis reaction to the stuff it's pretty serious and a good way for your restaurant to get sued. Good thing I am an awesome yelper though and I just take my frustration out here instead of in the courtroom, huh? You're welcome Noodle Decatur. Oh! and when I asked about the fish sauce and she reported back after speaking to the chef that yes, fish sauce was indeed in what I'd just ingested, (but only *just* a tablespoon!) I said that she could remove the dish from the table (I'd only had 2 spoonfuls) she didn't even offer to bring me something else despite the fact that it wasn't my fault that she didn't know her menu and had I eaten any more could have had a very serious medical emergency. Thanks, hooker, let me go throw up right now so I don't have to use one of my expensive epi pens, okay? THANKS! ANYHOW... The food is decent enough when you get things that won't kill you but it's nothing to write home about. The bartender delivered my friends dish and very awkwardly and rudely placed it on the table leaning over me and my plate rather unnecessarily however he looked to be all of 19 and a day so I'll give him a pass. Watching him from my seat as he was behind the bar it was clear that he was unhappy and seemed to be in hell. It's okay though, I'd probably be the same way if I had to work with the person who was our server too. Highlight of the meal was my friend's cocktail. I don't know what it was called but it was citrusy and sweet and lovely. This drink, according to the server, "was made with lots of love and attention and heart and soul by the bartender" so I guess that makes everything okay. As always with Decatur Square, parking sucks, but apparently you can park in the garage nearby and get validated but I don't know how that works so abandon your vehicle at your own risk. I say that because I parked in a lot in the building on the same street a few doors down once when going to Iberian Pig and got stuck inside and had to go to Leon's and ask for change so that I could get a *TOKEN* from the machine that took $5 bills ONLY in order to gtfo of there, the entire experience being horribly confusing and inconvenient. Good thing I was full of Iberian Pig though or else that would have really made me angry :) Also, they need better patio seating. There were a handful of tables, all occupied, but one table pushed into a corner that wasn't being used that *could* have been made accessible but wasn't. Awesome! It's only June and 80 degrees out which is rare for Atlanta, I totally didn't want to enjoy this atmospheric miracle, Noodle, so thanks for accommodating. *eyeroll* Go somewhere else, Decatur Square has about eleventybillion other options, all better than this joint operating in a perpetual state of amateur hour. read more

Food is okay, but manager didn't know whether it contained MSG (cancer causing). They made a mistake with my order and made the change to the order after lunch time, resulting in higher prices. I wasn't happy about that and the manager flatly told me that although his employee made the mistake, he wasn't going to charge the lunch price (I made my order about 1/2 hour before lunch ended and picked up right as lunch time was ending. There's better food and certainly better service elsewhere. With so many restaurants in Decatur, you'd think that they would treat customers with some respect. Bad parking. read more

Went here with my girlfriend because we were craving some asian food. We had been to this location once before but were surprised to see the menu had completely changed. Ordered four items: wings, potstickers, Bi Bim Bop with Kimchi and Pork, and Steak Yakisoba. The wings were fine because we were starving, but overall very bland and little flavor from the sauce on it. Potstickers were nothing special, could've been frozen. I love Bi Bim Bop and always order it at Doc Chey's, but Noodle's was pretty mediocre. My girlfriend had the Yakisoba, and it was sooooo salty. Our server was fine, not too personable, but no complaints. I really want to like this restaurant because all the staff seem so nice.
