The employees may charge for ginger or other sides so order dumplings and they give you one free or just ask the manager. But they are usually very nice and don't charge. I first came upon this amazing restaurant on Uber Eats and I loved it so much I knew I HAD to come back in person. I tried their Korean jjajangmyeon (aka noodles in black bean sauce) the first time along with their cucumber salad and scallion pancakes. Everything was MMM CHEF'S KISS! Although I felt like the sauce was a little too thick so it was not as easy to combine with the noodles as you normally would with authentic jjajangmyeon. I LOVED LOVED LOVED their cucumber salad and scallion pancakes in particular, they're a must try!! In fact, I love them so much I ordered it again. The cucumber salad is so refreshing and had the perfect harmony of savory and sour with a bunch of garlic just how I like it (so a warning if you don't enjoy garlic). I also tried their egg with tomato noodles and after I took my first bite, it instantly transported me back into my childhood. It was so homey and just pure deliciousness. Just one thing to mention is that the noodles were stuck together so it made it a little less enjoyable to eat. Another thing is that they make their noodles from scratch and you could actually watch the chefs make it in the back of the restaurant. I've been to a couple Noodle St locations and I've never been disappointed! I come here whenever I'm craving some warm, tasty soup. The signature beef noodle is definitely a good dish to get if you're feeling sick or if the weather is cold. The broth isn't too salty and the knife cut noodles are just the perfect thickness. The beef wrap is also a good side dish to get. I personally like how they add a lot of cilantro and green onion!! But the meat portions in the wrap are a bit small. The service is quick and nice. My family and I frequent Noodle St. about once per month! We have been coming here for the last several years, especially when it is cold, their Ramen hits the spot! Their beef pancakes are also delicious (my husband's favorite) as are their lamb skewers, which my daughter really enjoys. My son really enjoys their Korean beef with rice and I really like their shrimp stir-fry. I have tried other Ramen places, but this one tops them all, especially because many Ramen places utilize a creamy broth, which my family does not enjoy. Noodle St.'s Ramen base broth tastes perfect! Recently, my family and I got really sick with the flu, and after not being able to stomach anything for almost 3 days, their steak stir-fry was the only thing that sounded good. Great unique option in the north 626 area. To be quite honest, Monrovia does not have a lot of great Asian food options so very happy to have a noodle st nearby. I would give this spot a 4.5 out of 5. Go-to options are the beef noodle soup (the best dish they have) and the beef pancakes. If it's your first time, I would highly recommend those two. I've been many times and have also tried the regular noodles not in soup, and it's pretty good. There's a variety of noodle options and knife cut has always been the best in my opinion. My only knock on the food, it's not something that'll blow your socks off. It's good, standard Asian food but nothing crazy. Staff is great and always welcoming and prompt. You have to get the beef rolls to start with. Stir fry noodles I've had the beef and shrimp good favor and can't beat that fresh noodles. The soup filled dumplings are so delicious. If you're craving soup Ive had the beef ribs noodle soup. Reminds me of Caldo a Res but with noodles. It's good but if you like it spicy I would just add a few drops of chili oil. The calamari isn't bad at all. The bulgogie rish dish is delicious. Another good one is the dan Dan noodles but FYI traditional it's served with Chinese peanut sauce and cold noodles but here it's a soup version. I liked it if you're craving something hot. Parking. It's part of a pavilions parking lot. Typically there's parking but if it's busy you'll just have to walk further away. Restaurant. Clean and their bathroom is clean as well. Was I hungry? Was it because I haven't had hand pulled noodles in ages? I don't know but the Soucy Beef Noodle with hand cut noodles were delicious. Rich beef broth full of flavor with enough spice to honor the name. So many "spicy" dishes are on menu these days to cater to the masses, but usually miss the mark for me, but not here. Just in case, they pack some chili oil for you as well. The noodles were the star though. Hand pulled are supposed to be the chewiest option, which it could have been but they were also very soft and fresh as well. I also tried the lamb skewers. Seasoned just right and tastest great dipped in the chili oil. Last but not least, service was on point. I ordered takeout using a delivery app since it was my first visit was wasn't sure about language issues over the phone. I got there well before my ETA from the app just because I was already driving home from running errands. I went inside and they apologized and hurried up my order. They had a line of take out orders too, so was happy I didn't have to wait too line. Wasn't their fault, but I love how they accommodated being early. As for language, no issues there. English is not a second language here so I plan to call in my next order and save the small business a little service fee. read more

The server wiped down the table with alcohol and gave us paper menus. I ordered the big plate chicken with knife cut noodles and asked for mild spicy. The order is huge and comes with so much food. The noodles are pretty delicious and there are many pieces of chicken (dark meat only). Noodles were cooked pretty perfectly al dente. Flavor was alright but it was just too spicy for me! The noodles were solid- doughy, thick, short and choppy in length but left with that satisfying chewy texture. The pickled veggies and fresh greens brighten the soup base. + Stir fry knife cut noodles were fabulous. They remind me of chow mein or yakisoba but much better. The noodles are so chewy and delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful. The bell peppers and carrots add a nice crunchy texture. + Pork and shrimp pan fried dumplings were so delicious! The bottoms were seared to a golden crisp. The juicy pork and shrimp were slightly sweet and full of meaty flavor. The dumpling skin has a good chew to it. Pair it with the chili oil on the side! My family ordered from this place on February 12 through Uber Eats. When they received their food and began eating two people noticed BUGS IN THEIR FOOD!! The food was returned to the restaurant and my family asked for a refund, and they directed them to tell Uber Eats to request their refund. Uber Eats did not fully refund the order and the restaurant did nothing for them either. This is gross, and any business that would allow this to happen should be shut down. We enjoy our local noodle houses, and here in Monrovia we tend to frequent Noodle St. during the pandemic, we continued to order to go orders and kept this up till we were all back to dining indoors again. Last night was a particularly cold night here in the SGV, so the hubby suggested we grab some miso noodles, and only one place comes to mind when he wants miso noodles, and that's Noodle St! We ordered our usual fare, and it's never a surprise to either of us that they had a pretty full house. It took them a while to get our order as it was just about peak dining hours around 6pm. And on a Sunday evening on a cold day, you are pretty much guaranteed a wait. Despite the slightly long wait, we got our orders in. We ordered the fried calamari, Japanese style miso noodles, get them triangle cut, it's way easier to use your chopsticks on it--this coming from a gal who's got some arthritis now, plus they're just too good! Then my son and I ordered Dan Dan noodles and the pork and shrimp dumplings, and as if we weren't starving, we also got some pancake scallions. Everything at Noodle St is flavorful and made to order. The noodles are made in-house and they're super fresh! The calamari are nicely fried, served with a wedge of lemon and sweet and sour sauce. The scallion pancakes were delish! I like to ordere these to accompany my noodles, something crunchy to go with a big bowl of noodles are always a thing with me, so it comes to no surprise to my family that I order these together. Ambience-wise, Noodle St offers spacious gaps between tables. They also have outdoor seating and they even have the standing heaters if you want to brave the cold. For me, I'd prefer to sit inside just because I want to make sure my food stays hot! I would've given them 5stars, but sometimes their service is what becomes a bit dodgy. The evening we were there, they were a bit busy, which bis cool, except they forgot my husband's soup. And though the waitstaff was as attentive as could be, he didn't even stop by to ask if we got our order--instead I had to flag him down, and by the time we got my husband's soup, the rest of the table had pretty much had their meal. They had a busy front of house service with to go orders, but their host could've done their bit too and tried to check on the tables. I'm sure when I return it won't be so crazy, and I will return, because such moments are flukes. Our waitstaff was apologetic and he was really quite nice--he explained that the kitchen was bombed, and that's cool. Parking: The parking spots are plenty since it is located in a shopping plaza. Customer service: We placed the order on the phone and were told the food will be ready in 15-20 minutes. By the time we arrived the place, the food is ready and all packed for pick up. The guy who served us was masked on the whole time. He was friendly and helpful.
