They're usually "average". Last night's family meal was a fail. Family meal is for 4 people. $33 is a very affordable price these days. But I suppose their low price is reflected on their foods quality. We ordered their March 4 family meal. It consisted of Fish Ball Soup, Garlic Chicken, Boiled Beef Brisket, and Seasonal Vegetables. All the items were lukewarm. Felt like the order probably had been sitting out for at least an hour. Fish Ball Soup was plain and flavorless. The napa cabbage was not fresh and the soup contained 4 fish balls. Each family member got one fish ball each. Garlic Chicken was the most flavorful of the meal and even that it was not the best. Boiled Beef Brisket was plain and flavorless and was over a bed of bean sprouts. We had to add some sauce to it to make it flavorful. 2/3 bean sprouts & 1/3 beef. There was no mention of bean sprouts on the menu. They really should've called it Boiled Beef Slices & Bean Sprouts. Seasonal Vegetables looked promising but it was also plain and flavorless. We had to add our own salt to make it tasty. It was so disappointing. Don't think we'll be ordering their family meals any time soon. read more

Now that they are moving to takeout only due to covid, I went to pick up some bentos. A lady named Michelle was NOT wearing her face mask properly and seriously looked offended when I tried to stay 6 feet away. These people are not taking social distancing seriously and that can cause a lot of problems beyond me just being annoyed. Every time we have ordered from here, our bentos were always cold. The food is average - nothing special. Portion size leans on the small side. I think for everyone's safety, just eat somewhere else. There are plenty of great Taiwanese restaurants in the 626, and this is not one of them. read more

My favorites are the Taiwanese loofah with cherry shrimp 絲瓜, salted egg pumpkin 鹹蛋南瓜, 五更腸旺, three cups basil eggplants and tofu, and garlic "dragon whiskers" veggies. In general, deep fried food doesn't fare as well for takeout so go for stir fried, boiled, and marinated dishes instead. Their full menu is also available to choose from. I didn't feel a big difference on the food and quality with the new management. I'm Taiwanese (born and raised in Taiwan) and I still love the food here. I've had good service in general. There's one lady who's less friendly but I wouldn't say rude... I'm also being more lenient towards the service considering the pandemic. Everything tastes good here. Their daily special is great value for the money. A few other Chinese/Taiwanese restaurants started offering daily combo meals since the pandemic and Cafe Fusion is the best in terms of taste and value. read more

Such a great find for authentic Taiwanese Good at Cafe Fusion! They currently have few tables outside in tents or offer to-go. The menu is impressive. It probably has few hundred different items in total! It spans from different protein items to vegetables. We had a group of 5 people but ordered 10 items haha The food was served in to-go containers so the leftover were easy to pack home. The portion of each item wasn't too big, so it was great to try out many dishes here. Few of my favorites - fried pumpkin with salted egg, boiled whole squid with five flavors sauce, tofu with bamboo shoots, and fried rice. Honestly, every dish here was so delicious. Very disappointed by the food, especially the portions at this restaurant. I never leave bad reviews on mom & pop shops like this, but I feel like I need to share my experience. The menu is very Taiwanese (I grew up in Taiwan), but the flavor is quite lacking. We got 2 black chicken soup and 2 eel noodles, and it came out to almost $50. The chicken soup is SO little for $6, and the eel noodles had so little eel, and the eel pieces were very mushy from being frozen. I want all the Taiwanese places to do well, but given there's so many restaurants in SGV that actually deliver great quality and prices, this place is at most 1.5 stars read more

Introduction: Café Fusion is a rarity in Arcadia in the sense that in Arcadia very few good restaurants exist. The current Café Fusion is under new management; the original Owner of Café Fusion has relocated to the City of Industry. The old Café Fusion's culinary execution was okay when they first started out then the quality descends shortly after; the new Café Fusion's culinary execution is a lot better overall. The restaurant is predominantly Taiwanese with certain aspects of Asian Fusion. Within SGV, three legitimate Taiwanese restaurants exist: Kingschop in city of Industry, Golden Leaf in San Gabriel, and Café Fusion. Amongst the three, Café Fusion's the best. Golden Leaf's culinary execution is legitimate and on point but Café Fusion's approach is smoother and more refined. Foods: The things I have tried are as follows: Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables: Café Fusion's pork belly with preserved vegetables is one of the best ones I have had thus far. The pork belly is lean at the bottom but without being dry; the upper layer of fat is not too fatty but rather adequately and satisfyingly so. The preserved vegetables are of good quality. This dish goes great when paired with rice. Sticky Rice with Dungeness Crab: The glutinous rice is flavorful and marinaded well. Each bite bear notes of shiitake mushroom, shredded pork, dry shrimp, and umami from the crab. The crab itself is relatively fresh. The price for this dish is $47 and it is on the pricier spectrum; it's best one orders this dish for a special occasion such as a potluck or party: guests will be delighted and the dish will surely turn some heads. Spicy Pork Intestine and Pork Blood in Pot: The spice level for this dish is adequate and mellow; it's not the kind of spiciness that's overly aggressive. It's flavorful and all the ingredients used are of good quality. I especially enjoy the pork blood: the texture of the blood is tender and soft while other establishments' pork blood tends to be over-cooked. Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetable Buns: Buns to Asians are as burgers are to non-Asians: we eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snack. A good bun is hard to find: the skin has to be soft as opposed to rough, and the ingredients have to be fresh as well as of good quality. Too many establishments get the skin to ingredients ratio wrong; meaning there's too much skin relative to the amount of ingredients. Often the skin is rough too. In addition, usually the ingredients inside are of subpar quality. Café Fusion's pork belly with preserved vegetable buns are different. The skin of the buns is plump and soft. The pork inside the buns is fresh, tender, and succulent. The preserved vegetables are noticeably fresh as well. Chicken in Wine and Sesame Oil Soup with a side of thin noodles: The chicken in wine and sesame oil soup is legitimate. The taste of the wine is distinctly present and the sesame oil adds fragrance to the soup overall. The broth is flavorful, mellow, wholesome, and bears depth. Stumbled upon their family meals on instagram and I am so glad I found this place! Their family meals include 3 dishes, soup, and rice for $30 and serves about 4. If you order 3 times or more a week, they deliver for free within 3 miles. After months of cooking and occasional delivery, home cooked meals without the hassle was just what we needed! The food is good and the menu is different everyday. They also don't strictly have Chinese food, I've seen some Japanese-ish dishes on their menus. We definitely order at least 3 times a week so we can get delivery. We're that lazy. read more

I've been here a couple of times and I always tend to forget about this gem! They have lots of options on their menu - which is always a plus. I came with my boyfriend and cousin and we ordered the braised pork, clams (salty IMO), black cod fish, and chinese celery with squid (wasn't a fan). The braised pork was SO tender and juicy. I was a little skeptical when it first came out as it was drenched in sauce, which I thought was going to be very salty. However, I was very impressed - I had to scoop extra sauce on my plate cause it was that good. I will definitely be ordering this again. The black cod fish was also a great decision of our dinner. I loved the way it was cooked and how much sauce it comes with. It'd be great with rice! All four dishes for about $100 - which I think is a steal for the quality and quantity of the food. We had to wait on site for at least one or two hours to receive our pre-paid meals. The owner left the restaurant earlier so that the poor manager had to take all blames from these upset clients. We usually go out of TC/Arcadia to get Chinese food, but some places around here are worth a try. We found this place next to a Shanghai restaurant at the corner and decided to have lunch here. The seaweed with garlic small appetizer dish they give you is very garlicky but quite nice. Service was alright. They don't seem to really care about you, but then again, it's a Chinese place so I never expect stellar service. There was a lady who kept adjusting a little flower in a small white vase behind my seat. She looked to be an owner or manager. I really would not have even looked above me and cared whether or not there was a flower there, but whatever floats your boat. Spicy fish filet was alright. I've had better and the fish was a bit overcooked. Three cup chicken was not as flavorful and was very tender and not as dry as other places. I prefer a drier kind, so I wasn't impressed. You had to actually dip the chicken into the sauce and that's when the taste was pretty good. I really wouldn't pay that much for the dishes here that could really be made better at other places and cost less as well. Eh, not going to be back. read more

I love this small family restaurant. I'm no expert of Taiwanese food, but I liked the accomplished fresh, homemade dishes Sam ordered for us. Its name precedes itself as an authentic Taiwanese restaurant as others have said below. I have to add that the decor is a cross between a hotel restaurant and a cultural center...in a good way. Very respectable. And the staff are efficient since there are only 8-10 tables. The homemade fish soup was a large bowl. I got a bit fed up after the 3rd refill but didn't want to waste it. It was a light, peppery clear soup. The waitress served me up a fish chunk with the fin and all. I almost fainted :) The stewed pork wrapped in a cabbage or mustard green was very familiar to me as I love those fatty pork dishes at Cantonese restaurants. Here it looked more gourmet...one large square chunk and covered with dark glistening sauce. The waitress cut it in front of us...there was enough for 4 people! We ordered some other dishes, but I've forgotten. Probably a vegetable dish. I was thinking of bringing my folks here on their last visit to the States but we never made it. Apparently every Taiwanese person in the 626 knows about Cafe Fusion. They've been around for a while and they advertise continuously on Chinese TV channels. Cafe Fusion is a fantastic and really authentic place for non-street/snack Taiwanese food. Been here twice and I've loved: *KING CRAB - this will cost you a pretty penny (apparently cheaper than Newport Seafood ($300 v. $600)) BUT the meat is so fresh and they give you mayo to dip it in. GENIUS *Chicken, San ya & Bamboo Soup - really light but really flavorful. *Marinated Cold Clams - it's under the appetizers but apparently this is a very traditional Taiwanese dish. It's sweet, salty, slightly salty and a lot of delicious! *Marinated Guava: they cut it up and season it with li hing powder. it tastes kind of like apple cinnamon! the only downside is that it costs $6 Even their tea is tasty and it's from a tea bag! Amazing. The only thing I didn't like was their milkfish. I just think i don't like the taste of milkfish in general but it also lacked salt. I will say that it is more expensive like other reviews have said. It's not snack food so you have to expect prices to be higher! It was that good...I stopped going for awhile because the last few times, the food and service had become inconsistent. Today's meal put them back on top - each dish was great, with unusual flavour accents that set them apart from their ultra traditional base dishes while respecting their essence. Things you need to know: Pricey, all the meat dishes are minced, and everything comes with a lot of sauce. The food here is pretty decent, but for the portion and quailty, I'd rather trek down a couple of blocks to the bigger Asian eateries. Cucumbers in garlic sauce appetizer $4.95- Not pickled enough Hot and sour soup $7.95- Small for the price and salty Oysters in black bean sauce with tofu and green onions $12.95- Not enough tofu in ratio to sauce, but lots of oysters Pork in Hunan sauce $9.95- A bit salty and the veggies were a little overcooked Special Walnut shrimp $12.95- Not bad Stir fried Noodles with beef $10.95- Noodles were a bit soggy (prices are approx, I might be off a little from memory) Service was pretty good, but then again it was 2pm on a Sunday and there was only one other table there. This is more like authentic local family style taiwanese restaurant that serve interesting dishes that are perfect for family dinners. Cold sauteed mountain vegetable- Surprisingly delicious for a cold platter. I saw several people order this dish. I love how its not too salty and you can taste the natural sweetness of the cooked sauteed greens. Ambience- Casual and spacious inside. Apparently there are two big rooms in the restaurant. Tons of asians with their families. Cold squid with slices of ginger- Another great simple dish. Its basically boiled squid served with slices of ginger and a spicy sweet sauce on the side. The squid is perfectly cooked, not too rubbery or hard. The mix of the ginger and squid with the sweet sauce is quite addicting. Grilled mutton fish- Sooo good! They remove all the bones for you and you are left with a generous amount of thin white naturally savory and sweet fish that is perfectly cooked with a squirt of lemon. Scallion and lamb- Thin slice of lamb sauteed with scallions and garlic. The dish is slightly spicy and the garlic is a perfect merry with the lamb. The scallions doesn't mask the natural taste of the lamb so if you are in love with the gamy-ness of lamb, you will enjoy this dish. Three cup chicken with squid and basil in stone pot- Three cup chicken is a classic taiwanese dish that my family loves to order when we are at a taiwanese restaurant. The savory sweet soy taste with the hint of the wine is a perfect blend with the fragrant basil. Their take has squid in the dish as well which I've never had before. Squid meat is tender and perfectly cooked as well. Fried tofu with a gravy of ground pork- Circular fried tofu with ground pork gravy over the top and steamed broccoli surrounds the dish. Another great dish that is perfect with your steamed white rice. The dish is not too salty and I like how the tofu inside reminds me of the chinese style steamed egg. Texture is soft and I like how you could mix the gravy and ground pork with your rice and just feast! OVerall, my family really enjoyed the meal. You come out of the restaurant feeling completely satisfied and full from the great meal. We went sat night and ordered pickled vegy and pork stomach: Vegys right out of the jar/can, but pork stomach was at least tender, but no seasoning. Despite it's tacky restaurant name, this place has REALLY bombdiggity Chinese Taiwanese food! I came here on Chinese New Years eve and it was crowded with so many families from babies to grandparents. My parents brought us here and I was delightfully surprised by their authentic Chinese dishes that reminded me of dining in Asia. Every dish was delicious! We had lobster, their famous large white fish (not sure what it's called), walnut shrimp, san bai chicken with intestines, some delicious/healthy soup that they slowly cook in front of you...and a ton of others that I can't pronounce. They even had taiwanese beer snacks.. this tiny mussel dish that was salty and soy saucy..
