To preface this, I come at least twice a month. I always (without fail) order their egg with tomato knife cut noodles and beef rolls. They have the best beef rolls here. At first, I thought the tomato egg noodle would be basic, but the flavor's actually really good and the sauce coats the knife cut noodles really well. Things that I've tried that were also good: juicy pork buns, pork cabbage dumplings, shrimp and pork dumplings. Their spicy beef noodle soup, stir fry noodles, and cha-shu pork fried rice are decent, but not something I recommend my friends to come here for. They have some of the worst scallion pancakes here though. When I ordered it, it tasted burnt, which is odd because the scallion pancake to make the beef roll is soo good. read more

I got the non spicy because I love dipping it in the garlicky vinegary soy sauce that the cucumbers come in, and then in the chili oil. Mind blown. *SPICY BEEF NOODLE SOUP: savory, not too salty yet not bland! Beef chunks are generously served and tender. You select the custom thickness you'd like your fresh cut noodles to be. I enjoyed the triangle cut. *CUCUMBERS: so crunchy! So garlicky! So wonderful! I dip them in the chili oil By the way, the chili oil has heat to it which I love because at some restaurants the chili oil just tastes like old red oil. Theirs tastes fresh and with the perfect amount of heat. SOUP DUMPLINGS: the shell is slightly thicker than others, but they also give a larger serving of meat in there. Came here because I was craving noodles. I got the signature beef noodle soup for take-out. I don't have anything special to say about the noodles. It's just a good decently priced bowl of noodles. If I crave noodles again, I would come back and eat it again. It's also kind of cool to see the chef making the noodles if you're eating in the restaurant. The awesomeness of hand-made noodles! And it was DELICIOUS. I can't believe I've been missing out this entire time. When this place opened, they had some awesome grand opening specials. But I was super skeptical and didn't bother trying it. Mainly because of the area and my thought process was, an asian cuisine place opening up in the neighborhood won't be good. I mean after-all SGV is not too far away and that's where all the awesome asian food is. But fast forward to after grand opening, a couple of my gym buddies and friends tried this place and had great things to say about it. They all said it was really good actually so I've always wanted to try it. My brother and his wife was in town recently and we passed by this plaza. We saw Noodle St. and I told them what my friends said about the place and we decided to go there for dinner. Watching the men hand roll the noodles was quite entertaining. My brother and I both got the spicy beef noodles: he got the small flat noodles and I got the small round noodles (I shared with his wife). We also got the scallion pancake. The verdict: it was a HIT!!! My brother liked it so much he wanted to come back the next day to try the different cut of noodles they offer (but he didn't get a chance to). I really enjoyed my small round noodles and the flavor of the spicy beef broth was on point. Oh and the beef chunks were super YUMMY! Melt in your mouth goodness. The service was on par. I came several times during Covid and Noodle St still hits the spot for hand cut noodles. The food still comes out just as good as pre-covid and everything is well packaged and decorated. I decided to come to this location because the one located at the Santa Anita Mall does not offer dumplings; something about not being allowed to compete with Din Tai Fung, which I think is ridiculous. That shows how much power either management or DTF has on other tenants that offer similar items to them. Either way, I still prefer this location over the other. If you want quality noodles and dumplings yet don't want to pay the ridiculous price that DTF has raised over the years, come to Noodle St because it's just as good and cheaper. read more

Which ignorant stupid restaurant did not packing the hot soup container with the vinyl one more time? I have never experienced before. This was stupid and worst package i have ever. The soup was even in the paper bag barely. Do you even know the paper get torn when it get wet? No common sense? The paper bag of course was torn. Noodle St is a must try if you enjoy Chinese / Mandarin style cuisine. I'd personally consider their dishes as comfort food as they hit all the right spots. I was able to try the Beef Rolls which were to die for. The spicy beef noodles were delicious with the right amount of kick to the spice. The lamb skewers are also a must try if you enjoy appetizers. I never knew this place existed until I stumbled across their Instagram page. Definitely give them a try as I will be back to try their other dishes. read more

This joint is tucked away in between Mooya Burger and Vons, in Monrovia. This is not your ordinary Ramen place!! First off, you are greeted by a super friendly staff. Second, you can't help but notice the chefs straight ahead making the noodles. They make their noodles from SCRATCH here! I love how you can choose your noodle sizes and shape. I personally LOVE the triangle noodles. They are thick and chewy, and soak up all of the flavors and richness of the broths. For me, the "crack" here is that chili oil that sits on the end of each table. I swear I doused that chili oil on EVERYTHING!! The spice is perfect and it has a nice smokiness to it that compliments each dish in a different way. I have yet to try everything here, but I will be! This chain has become my go to for Beef Noodle Soup. Having grown up in Taiwan, I enjoy their flavorful rich broth albeit it can be a little fatty to some. This is one of a handful of places that sell knife cut noodles in the SGV, in fact, I cannot think of another off the top of my head. They have a location in Monrovia and another in Arcadia in the mall. Wait times can be an issue when you are going around peak meal times, so plan accordingly. Their beef rolls are also one of the better ones in the area, although I would recommend eating it while hot. I often get take out due to the crowds, and it doesn't taste as good once it has been sitting in a container for 10-15 minutes. There are also plenty of other options to try if beef noodle soup is not your thing or if you don't like knife cut noodles, they have a variety of different noodle offerings to choose from. read more

Love it when that happens. Our server was pretty attentive and got the job done, but not too personable. Not a big deal though. Water cups stayed filled, she checked on us a good amount of times. She was cool. FOOD We ordered the JUICY PORK BUNS. This is a must. They're yummy with the chili sauce that they have on the table! Add some of the vinegar and soy sauce too. So good! CHICKEN STIR FRY WITH TRIANGLE CUT NOODLES was what I ordered and it was amazing as usual. The flavors run deep with so many different layers. Just picked this up for dinner and it was so, so delicious! Ordered the kimchi fried rice, pork dumplings, beef spicy soup with handmade noodles and beef wrap. The fried rice was probably my favorite, a well-rounded flavor and the portion was HUGE. Pork dumplings were good but because we had to pick up the order, they were cold when we got home. Heated them up and still very tasty. Beef soup super flavorful, the handmade noodles bouncy and the beef itself very tender. Beef wrap very fragrant and paired with a good making of herbs. We ordered thru postmates - I live in San Gabriel and for some stupid reason it set the pick up to this location. I realized before it was too late and it honestly annoyed so much because it was a 25 min drive each way instead of picking up from Arcadia (10 min away). The fact I'm giving this place 5 stars and was annoyed by the pickup experience is pretty telling how great the food is. Service is GREAT. The servers were so friendly but not in that way that becoming annoying. They were friendly when we first walked in to the moment we left. They also were very willing to help each other out which shows teamwork.. which is always refreshing! Kudos to management. Stir fried triangle noodles were excellent. Not greasy, perfectly seasoned and best of all, noodles were cooked so perfectly as well. It's exactly what you expect with you want hand made noodles. A MUST TRY! Spicy beef triangle noodle soup was also very good, however, I would get the thinner noodles for this one. As much as I LOVE the triangle noodles, I think the thinner noodles would have complimented the rich broth better. Either way, it was great and you should also try this. Beef roll was also very good. (Not sure if they have anything bad here- lol). The only wish I had was that they had the "crack sauce" Noodle 101 has! This version has a crispier pancake and better quality meat that what I'm used to.. will definitely come back for these bad boys! Tofu appetizer was AMAZING! Fried tofu.. how crazy good can it be? We bypassed the things on their menu that looked more Asian fusion (Japanese ramen, Korean kimchi fried rice, jajiangmien etc.) and focused on Chinese dishes. We ordered a non-spicy seafood noodle soup with triangle shaped hand-pulled noodles, xiao lung baco, beef roll, garlic smashed cucumber salad, pan fried dumplings, braised chicken over rice, and watermelon juice. Their noodles are excellent. My favs were the really delectable beef rolls, the pan fried dumplings with a great sweet soy dippling sauce and the XLB (homey, thick skins), and the chewy noodles. This was a random find on Yelp as we were in the area and didn't want to wait 2 hours for a hotpot place in the Santa Anita Mall. This place has hand-pulled noodles made specially for each order it seems. Since my husband is a foodie, we ordered 5 different things: - Lamb noodle soup (knife cut noodles) - Beef noodle soup (I did the "Create Your Own Bowl" thing - beef broth, triangle cut noodles, bean sprouts, spinach, tofu, and beef slices) - Fried calamari appetizer - Beef roll pancake - Juicy pork buns I have to say ALL the items were delicious (and for those who know me, I almost always find something to complain about with a new restaurant lol). The beef roll pancake is usually something places get wrong somehow. It was great here. Not too salty or oily, and just the right amount of flavor. Both soups had a light "clean" flavor but were very tasty and really good since it was cold today. The calamari was neither soggy or too oily. The juicy pork buns (xiao long bao) were good, but nothing special to be honest. But overall everything was really yummy. The service was prompt and everyone was very nice. Since we ordered a ton of stuff to try, we obviously had a ton of leftovers. They packed it all for us. As we were driving home, I told my husband we had to be sure to separate the noodles from the soup ASAP when we could (so the noodles don't get all fat and soak up the soup). So it turns out they already do that for you at the restaurant. Never had a restaurant do that with leftovers before, so that was a really nice touch in my opinion. Parking is easy and abundant in an open lot. Free parking as it is just one of those market squares with a lot of shops. Easy to find from the street. So glad this place opened in Monrovia. Monrovia is really expanding in terms of culture and ethnic food. The choices are still rather limited but it's gotten so much better in just two years. Noodle St. impressed me. I didn't expect it to be so good. I liked the ambiance and the attentive service. The prices were good and the food and Peach Iced Tea were fantastic. The quality was excellent. The lamb skewers were impressive- so tender and moist and perfectly seasoned with the right amount of cumin. I got the "Create Your Own Bowl" noodles with spicy beef broth, cha shu pork, black mushroom (it was actually fungus) and corn. I liked that they actually have an ample amount of both the veggie add-ons. I'm used to going to other noodle places where you pay like a buck-fifty extra only to get a little spoonful of something but Noodle St. was generous. The con is that if you want extra noodles, they don't give it to you on the side in a small bowl with extra broth- that's how it's done at Vietnamese pho places. When you add extra noodles to soup (which you pay extra for), then you're going to lose space in the bowl for the delicious broth, which doesn't make sense. Don't charge me extra if you're going to make me lose out in a different way. When I asked the server about it, she said I could pay extra for more broth on the side. I think if it wasn't for the kinks of working out the logistics of a new restaurant, I'd given this place 5 stars. Pros: 1. Food was good. Flavorful. 2. Noodles are hand made.Thank goodness they had the noodle making guy, my daughter loved it. 3. You can be entertained by the workings of the kitchen while you wait for the food. 4. Kid friendly. Tons of kids were stuck up against the window...Watching the noodle making man. 5. Wait time was short even on a weekend. Cons: 1. Music made the atmosphere... awkward. They had on classical on a Friday night and you could actually hear the music with a completely full restaurant. You know what that means? Either the music was too loud (which it wasn't) or the atmosphere felt like no one could talk so everyone spoke very softly or didn't speak. 2. Staff had no pattern. They just bounced around and the patrons had to tell them when they needed something. Wish they would assign tables to certain waiters so you didn't have to try and catch one walking by.. 3. Food came out all at different times. My husband was done his noodles by the time my beef roll came out. Will I be back?
