I'm doing take out today. Food tasted better when the price is cheap & affordable. The order taker is very friendly and attentive. I usually give five star rating but this review is for my takeout report.

I have not visited been in ages. Solid dishes that come in large portions and very reasonably priced. Service was a hit or miss. Hostess seated party that came after us first. But the 2nd hostess caught it and apologized. They did not bring the bowl of rice we ordered. When we reminded them, they instead brought us two empty bowls. I walked up to return the bowls and another waiter scolded me telling me I had to order rice! It was almost comical. When leaving we noticed a B health grade

Seems like this place has pretty low ratings, but I am just thinking everyone is just not ordering the right things? I have been frequenting this restaurant for over 15 years. The quality has always been great and the food still tastes the same as it did all those years ago. My family and I make the drive from Lake Forest there occasionally just to eat! Here is what we usually order: Noodle World Spaghetti: This is my go to! There is a ton of seafood in this dish, but I like to swap out the mussels for more imitation crab. The flavor is unlike anything I have had elsewhere and it does have a good kick to it from the jalapeno seeds. I don't know exactly what they use to season this dish, but it is soooo good! Spicy Spaghetti: This is my older sister's go to plate since the beef in this dish is always so soft and tender. The spaghetti isn't spicy at all I would say, but it is a yummy dish with a lot of flavor as well. Garlic Chicken and Rice: This is my younger sister's go to since she is a picky eater. The chicken perfectly cooked and the seasoned. They give you extra crispy garlic on the side for more flavoring! Pineapple Fried Rice: Huge shrimps and pieces of pineapple and raisins. This is my dad's go to plate as he loves the cashews in them too! This time around, we tried the wonton noodle soup, which was just decent. Nothing too special about it. They were extremely kind to allow us to switch tables to watch the FIFA world cup game that was going on at the moment and did not rush us out either. I will say their menu is absolutely enormous and there are a ton of dishes to choose from, but do go for these! Others are just mid!

The spicy spaghetti (sriracha) was not bad! It wasn't spicy at all but it had flavor. The beef was tender and portions were huge. It was shareable and also still really good as leftovers.

Noodle World is Right!!! They had so many things on the menu to choose from,I had a hard time deciding what to get everything looked so good ... Since it was our first time going there, we had to pick something to try it out.... They had a special going Monday through Thursday. You can get it for $15...((add $1.50 for ordering dish's with beef or shrimp))...It was one of the,Weekly Specials they had listed on the one of many, 'Specials programs" the dish you chose came with an 'ICED TEA"...served in a cute hard plastic take home cup,I really thought was adorable... I wish I would have read the fine print... There was, * NO REFILLS* on the drink, and if I would have known that... I would have ordered my drink with no ice,((she served my drink with tons of ice)) and ask for a cup of ice on side...((I'll do that next time for sure.)) The ,'SPICY SPAGHETTI" was to my liking and very tasty for sure. . . My son Blake and I both were very happy with our choice... The only reason I gave 3 stars and not 5...is because the meat tasted tough and way overcooked...it was hard and chewy...it felt like it was,' pre cooked" in bulk, then placed in a bin and scooped into the item you chose, given the,'Spicy Speghitti" came with your choice of 4 meat's,chicken, pork or for the extra charge of $1.50 if you chose shrimp or beef. It was not tender in the least...which was very disappointing being the sauce was so amazingly delicious... I chose to just eat the mushrooms and push the tough meat off to the side ((it was that bad)) We noticed a Noodle world" that is closer to where we live,so we're going to give it a try and see if it's better that this Alhambra store...I'll do a review when we do! Try this spot, maybe it was an off day for the cook...also,we ordered pad ti with beef...the beef was also over cooked, tough and dry.

I ordered the catfish with the sauce separately, but the fish itself was extremely disappointing. The catfish appeared to have been fried in old, heavily used oil. The oil was noticeably dark, and the fish had an unpleasant, stale smell and did not taste fresh. The slices were also extremely thin, with barely any actual fish meat. Most of what I received was skin rather than a reasonable portion of fish. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced this issue. On previous occasions, the catfish has even been served with the tail still attached, which I find unacceptable, especially considering the price and expectations for the meal. I understand that food quality can occasionally vary, but this appears to be a recurring problem. The condition of the fish and the apparent use of old frying oil significantly affected the quality and enjoyment of my meal. I hope management will take this complaint seriously, review the preparation and frying practices for the catfish, and ensure that customers are served fresh, properly prepared fish with good-quality oil. I would appreciate an appropriate resolution to this issue. I am very disappointed with this experience and hope it will be addressed so that I do not encounter the same problem again.

Good Thai food. It's not traditional Thai food but it's very good and large portions. The chicken hanian is a great dish here. Also really enjoy the pad thai! They have a very large restaurant great for large parties. They have plenty of parking also I like the drink selection too, the passionfruit green tea is great! They have a new Lunch special option, that also applies to takeout which is especially nice!

Loved the meal options. Enjoyed the Thai style shrimp fried rice. Good portion for price.

I've been coming to Noodle World for nearly 30 years, and this is by far the smallest portion I've ever received. I ordered the Spicy Seafood Spaghetti ($16.99) and the Beef Chili with Rice ($14.99), and both portions were surprisingly small for the price. The seafood spaghetti barely filled the container, and the beef chili came with much less meat and rice than I've ever received here. I understand prices have gone up, but if portions are going to be this small, the menu prices should reflect that. This was very disappointing, especially from a restaurant I've supported for decades. From now on, I'll be opening my to-go order and checking the portions before I leave. Buyers beware.. if you're ordering takeout, make sure you verify your food before walking away. I hope management addresses this because the value just isn't what it used to be.

This place has been here since I was knee high. I was dragged kicking and screaming, metaphorically of course. It is better than I thought it would be for a jack of all trades diner. The selection is mind boggling. For a fill me up place, it is great but if you looking for more this is not for you.

It's been a while since we were last here. We used to come to this place a lot when we lived a little closer. We pretty much ordered the same food we were used to ordering. But somehow it didn't taste as good as I remember them. They do serve pretty good portion. The garlic spare ribs was good but nothing special and not as tasty as I used to remember them. Beef steak was good but could be more tasty. The mixed vegetables with beef was actually really good! I don't remember having the beef panang here before but the soup/ sauce was a little too watery and the beef was kinda tough. The bbq pork wonton noodles was food. Service was good and fast. I remember before we always had to wait a bit for our table. Now the place is not as packed and we were seated right away! Ambience is very casual, light and a bit on the loud side but nothing that will bother diners.

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I haven't been here for a while and my family wanted to go eat here for lunch. We ordered noodle world fried rice, pad see ew, cat fish with chili sauce, spicy fried chicken, chicken satay, and grilled chicken. I noticed their food quality went down just by looking at some of the food. When I tasted it, it confirmed my doubts. Satay sauce was watery and the meat look weird. Spicy chicken sauce also used to be thick and full of flavor but it's very light now. I did not enjoy the food. We went on lunch time during the week and they didn't have much tables but yet when I ordered two drinks, it came about 10 minutes apart for each drink. They need to hire more servers or be efficient. Sad that one of my favorites restaurants going downhill. I won't be back anytime soon.

    Phil Y.

They were okay. I took my picky mom here. She ordered a beef stew noodle. She didn't like it. My wife didn't like what she ordered. I ordered the Thai boat noodles. It was good. Service was okay. The waiter was the one who told me to get the boat noodles. I dunno. If picky mom doesn't like it, it would be tough for me to make a return visit.

Not a fan of bean sprouts but will eat if I need to, but in this case - it totally overwhelmed the dish. There also wasn't enough rice noodle for me. Everything else was good, but that kinda blew it for me. Also got the spicy soup with beef and tomatoes. This is more of a gentle burn in spice they slowly works its way up. Beef roll looked more like a giant taco but was also excellent. In the most convoluted sequence of restaurant occupancy in the annals of Chinese restaurants in the United States, Noodle King has supplanted Rice Hero/Hero's Kitchen/In Joy Lunch in Alhambra in the space formerly occupied by a different restaurant named Noodle King in the 1980s and 1990s. There's a lot to explain here. I used the compound name for the previous occupant because the name on the front entrance was Rice Hero, the back entrance said Hero's Kitchen and the digital menus said In Joy Lunch. I say the old restaurant was supplanted, not replaced, because the old restaurant sort of still hangs around, with a tiny sheet of paper with all 3 old names taped to the front door, and many old dishes still on the menu. Why the three names I don't know. In Joy Lunch had been a popup that operated during lunch hour serving Dongbei food in a space in YYDS Fried Strings in Rosemead. In Joy Lunch then struck out on their own last year with this space in Alhambra, adding the new names. The old Noodle King had been a Taiwanese noodle fixture before moving out in 2003. Since the new Noodle King also serves some of the Rice Hero/Hero's Kitchen/In Joy Lunch items, the same name seems to be just a coincidence. But despite holdover menu items the staff clearly say they're a new restaurant, with the Noodle King himself greeting you at the front entrance and the signage in both front and back now say Noodle King.

(4/5) Beef Roll - Best thing they have for sure. Nice flavors and made perfectly. (5/5) Pan Fried Bao - Pretty good. It had juice inside, and the meat was tasty. (4.5/5) Popcorn Chicken - We got this one mild, and they basically didn't put any spice on it. TBH, it lacked flavor, and besides being pretty crispy, it definitely needed some spice. (3/5) Beef Noodle Soup - It was good and pretty traditional. (4/5) Overall, most of the food was good but not spectacular IMO. It's a solid place to eat if you're looking for pretty good food, and the price isn't too bad! Parking - Now this stings because this lot SUCKS.
