We are locals (Ladner) and come to Pho Fresh when we want Pho or Sate Beef on Rice…read more My favorite Pho is Beef Stew, it has a wonderful tasty broth. My wife likes the Hue Style, its a bit spicy. The Sate Beef on rice is my favorite. I choose medium spice and the flavor is fantastic with a slightly spicy heat level. It is served with a diced daikon (and sweet vinegar).

Found this place on a whim and was surprised by the good reviews because we had a pretty negative…read moreexperience. First, we ordered fresh shrimp rolls, but they brought us egg rolls instead. She even checked with us again because she forgot, and I repeatedly mentioned shrimp. But we decided to just eat them since we had already waited so long, even though we were the only new customers and the other two tables were already eating. The egg rolls were extremely greasy, had very little flavor, and barely any filling -- basically just fried rice paper. * I ordered pho with brisket and rare steak, but only got brisket. Again, I had clearly ordered the combo. After a couple spoonfuls, I suddenly felt very sick and nauseous and couldn't eat it. When I mentioned it to the staff, they suggested maybe it was "too spicy" or that I "didn't like the shrimp paste taste." I've been eating all kinds of pho for over 30+ years, so that definitely wasn't the issue. Also, the broth lacked depth and flavor and the color of the meat was weird - like grayish blue? (see photo). * They also never brought bean sprouts or the usual pho garnishes to our table, so I assumed they just didn't serve them. But every table seated after us received them with their pho. * The pork banh mi was just okay. The pickled radish was way too sweet, and there was no cilantro. * FYI: they do not provide cilantro. The place got busy with four more tables with 2+ people and the server seemed new, but service was very disorganized overall. Food took so long and we never even got a refill on our tea. However, the place is clean and bright.

A yummy experience that was recommended to me by a family member…read more Location is not big so depending on when you are there. Either for the lunch rush or dinner rush you might need to wait. But they have a good system for dropping in and then you get a text message sent to your phone telling you when your table is ready. So for service it's pretty good. It's more traditional Taiwanese. So you have a choice of five different noodles to choose from. Most soups, either common normal or spicy. Next time I will try spicy version. Overall a very enjoyable lunch experience. The portions were quite large. I would recommend not parking close to the restaurant and parking further away. Sometimes parking in the city of Richmond is not for the faint apart.

Also, my Taiwanese friend said this was the best in Richmond so I think that's a good sign. The friends I have brought here have also enjoyed it and would come back. The food comes out pretty promptly, hot and fresh. You can't go wrong with ordering one of their beef noodle soups. I also like their deep fried items, having tried their chicken nuggets and squid tentacles. I want to try their other appetizers as well. Their menu is quite extensive and also has a dim sum section. I notice a lot of customers ordering their drinks too, although I have not tried any myself. Service is very good and attentive. They are not short staffed here at all. The staff are always refilling your tea, which is delicious. I will definitely be back. The restaurant is a decent size, so even if it is busy, there shouldn't be too long a wait. Plus you can add yourself to the waitlist online before arriving, if needed. Since it is in a strip mall, parking is free and always available and you can do some grocery shopping in the area afterwards.

Love this place! Despite the limited menu, each item was spot on…read more I had the beef congee, shrimp rice rolls, and donut rice rolls and popcorn chicken. Every was very good. Prices are like food court prices but restaurant quality level. The only thing that needs to be improved is service. For Sunday lunch time service, only 1 server was working the till, taking and serving orders, and grabbing the check. Everything slowed down considerably. You had to get your own napkins, sauce dishes, sauces, chili oil etc. so had to take 1 star away. But the quality of the food was enough to make it a 4 star review. The rice rolls were of the perfect texture. Generous servings too. The popcorn chicken was salty and savoury with friend basil As well. Very nice touch. I would repeat. Cheers! Happy eating!

For this price, you don't expect the best quality, but I think their food exceeds the price point…read more The rice rolls were soft, but I wish they added more sweet soy sauce as it got dry at the end. Finally! A place that doesn't charge you $5 for a fried dough stick. It was ok - a little on the dense side The wontons were not good. The wontons and soup had no flavor. The cold noodle fen pi was really good. Perfect amount of vinegar and savory. I wish there were more vegetables, so I'm not eating noodles 90% of the time. I would come back for the rice noodle and cold noodle and maybe try their congee next time.
