    Chicken fried steak breakfast.
    D B.

Quick-ish Review: Had been a very long time since I was last here like I didn't even know ownership had changed 7 years ago, but we came here on Father's Day since most places were hour or more waits. Chicken Fried Steak - this was surprising better than I expected. Portion was enough to fill you. - the chicken fried steak was decent even if it was from frozen. gravy was okay since I wasn't expecting homemade anyway. eggs were fluffy and buttery. Hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and potatoey underneath. - side order of sausage was good. Better than some other chain restaurants. - a value at $11.95 Service/Appearance - our server was nice and patient with us. - the restaurant was nice and clean After this visit I may stop in sooner than later as the value and service was worth it.

This restaurant is family owned. Also, it serves breakfast all day. Basically you can order anything off the menu any time of the day. Very friendly staff and you get service right away. The food is very good and the prices are very cheap. Especially for the amount of food that you get. I love that anything that you order. The cook makes it when you order it. Your plate of food comes to the table fresh and steaming hot.

    Shiny metal,Looks like staples‍

This WAS my favorite place to eat until today!! Our family spends a lot when eating here! Today I had ordered the lunch combination plate... Bbq pork fried rice, chow mein and sweet and sour pork,as I was eating I noticed something silver and shiny on my meat,as I looked closely it looked like two staples I instantly showed them, they told me they will make a new plate for me..I declined and asked for a refund!! They started talking in their language amongst each other, come to find out it was the metal scrubber they use to scrub the pots withThey were apologetic, but honestly my family and I won't be eating there anymore‍!!!

Spam and egg breakfast with a pancake on the side.

Got the spam and egg breakfast with biscuits and gravy and a pancake on the side. Also a combo plate with sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice and chicken chow mein with a cream cheese rangoon. Everything was pretty good. Cons: -The rice in the fried rice was kind of hard -You only get 1 pancake for $4 -Egg was over hard when asked for over medium Will go back to try their other dishes

    Veggie Chow Mein

Great old school diner serving both Chinese and American food. Wasn't quite sure what to expect walking inside knowing it was an older building, but it was super clean and well maintained on the inside. Great selection of food. The breakfast was great, and so was the chow mein. Usually when you order veggie chow mein you get 95% noodle and then some cabbage and a few carrots. This chow mein however was LOADED with veggies. Great place, I would definitely recommend.

Their fried rice is bomb , but the price I paid for orange chicken plate with a chicken fried rice substitute because I don't eat pork , and one order of egg rolls was 15.15 , the orange chicken was absolutely disgusting it had no flavor and it was swimming in this strangely colored sauce it's breaded so some parts where Crispy while others were soggy , I would suggest putting the sauce on the side and allowing the consumer to pour on their own amount of sauce , the chicken fried rice literally had about 5 pieces of chicken the rest was all rice it has a good flavor so that's why I gave 3 stars , the egg rolls were pretty standard nothing to write home about , when I called to place my order the woman was rushing me off the phone but was polite when I got there I would eat here again I just Would stay far away from that orange chicken yuck lol

Wonton Soup, half wonton half noodle

Wonton Soup (half wonton half noodles) -- excellent !!! comforting. meats tender. wonton is plentiful. it's ok that it's not thin egg noodle (but the chow mein style noodle) , still delicious. server was very nice and made conversation. the cook was shouting during lunch hour rush and it gave me a very no-frills, home-cooked vibe. They have been here so long, I wish i had visited sooner. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Came here randomly for breakfast and it's was bomb. Steak and eggs with hash browns & toast hit the spot. Service was attentive and nice.

Some plates were worth it, others weren't, and at the prices they're charging the gaps were hard to ignore. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. The deviled eggs were a hit at the table and went fast. The jalapeño on each one was a nice touch, though the heat varied depending on which egg you grabbed since it was just a thin slice. The salmon cakes were solid, nothing to complain about. My mom's ceviche tostada was loaded, the avocado was generous and fresh, but the ceviche itself lacked the acidity you expect from the dish and had very little shrimp in it. She said it felt more like a lunch item than a dinner offering, though two of them were filling. My mom's friend had the steak frites, which was the standout plate of the night: a lean cut with a rich mushroom béchamel, well cooked, and the frites were fried rather than what you might expect, but the flavor delivered. My dad's spinach salad was underwhelming, overdressed with a balsamic that was too sharp and overpowered everything else. My ribeye was the disappointment. At $65 I expected better. It was thin, closer to pounded than what you'd expect from the cut, came out medium instead of medium rare, and didn't feel substantial for the price. The baked potato was a basic side, sour cream and onion, nothing more. The broccolini arrived at room temperature, borderline cold, which was unexpected. The au jus on the side didn't add much for me. Service was attentive but veered into overdone territory, the kind of performative politeness that signals they want a good tip more than they're genuinely being warm. It was noticeable. Also worth knowing: if you're seated near the windows, the afternoon sun can be blinding depending on when you go. The atmosphere is genuinely nice and this place works better as a brunch spot than a special occasion dinner destination. I've had better meals here before, which is why I know they can do better. One practical note: if you're parking in the disabled spots near the leasing center next door, the sidewalk doesn't connect to the restaurant entrance. You'll need to go through the parking lot to get there.

Up front, I wanted to express why I'm giving this review a 5-star rating. It was entirely because of the Manager Betsy and of course the flavor of these ribs we had. I don't want to put this restaurant down or nit-pick the issues both my sister and I had. I wouldn't think that would be right of me and to the restaurant. Let's just say, we had issues and Betsy, God bless her, she took care of business and made everything right and even went beyond what we expected. Personal service is foremost what's important at any eating establishment, along with the quality of the food. The ribs and pesto pasta was to die for, and that's why I keep coming back. The three serves that were there attending to us, need better training. The food is always great and I will go back.

What a mistake! A person who didn't wanna wait any longer gave us their buzzer. After we got seated, we handed our buzzer in. To my husband, surprise, the hostess was extremely, extremely rude and replied to him. We don't do that here!!!! Our waitress was extremely pleasant and professional! We ordered the chicken and rib combo, the ribs were just ok but the chicken was dry. For the price overall, we expected much more. I can't say that it left a good lasting impression on us. Our waitress gave us a couple of extra ribs in our to go containers. That was very kind of her. Unfortunately, we won't be dining here again.

And I love it! Garlic Bro's is a not so hidden local favorite that has become much more popular through the years. It sits right on the Delta for a perfect water-front view for outside dining and those lucky enough to get the huge bay window seating on the inside. I can order a full meal just on the appetizers alone. Ive tried them all. The fried raviolis and the grilled duck wraps (in bacon) are among my favorites. Garlic Bro's has a unique selection of oven baked pizza's but when I come to Garlic Bro's, it's all about the entree's for me. My all-time favorite is the grilled garlic steak. It is the best rib eye steak in Stockton. I order mine blackened (crispy outside) with the brown mushroom gravy that comes in a side dish. For sides, I order the garlic mashed potatoes. They taste creamy good by itself but remember the mushroom brown gravy I ordered for the steak? It's really for my garlic mashed potato's. A perfect combo. Consider this a Pro Tip. My other side is the green death pasta. You have to request it (another Pro Tip). I've tried pesto pasta everywhere and it's only this delicious at Garlic Bro's. The honorable mention is the grilled pork steak. The best pork steak in Stockton. The grilled lamb chops are good - just not as great as the other two entrees....but I'm a very tough critic when it comes to lamb chops. One thing to know at Garlic Bro's is they don't water down the mixed drinks. You definitely get what you pay for. And the price tag is actually pretty reasonable. Garlic Bro's can get very busy so come early for good seats and parking - because they don't take reservations.
