I love this place!!! Norma is amazing! The pizza is fire, our server recommended the perfect wine pairing with my porcini pizza with truffle oil. Amazing!!!! the workers were very very nice to us and helped us pick out our food and wine!! He answered all of our questions, no matter how many we had! No matter what wine you pick, it is likely to taste amazing!! I got the Busiate al pesto Trapanese, and I can tell you it was delicious!!! (& has the cutest noodles). The flavors were very bold and were in every single bite, down to the last one!! It was a very good dish! My friends picked some of their other entrees and both enjoyed their dish as much as I did! Once you order you will get your complimentary bread & oil! The bread itself is also delicious, but with the oil... it's to die for!! Lovely place that would be perfect for a romantic date night!!! This is a pretty solid Sicilian Italian restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. Whenever I have family in town and they are craving Italian, I usually go here because it's convenient, crowd-pleasing while still having a Sicilian POV to traditional Italian dishes. Pros: - Gnocchi, busiate, tagliolini, and pasta alla norma are all really good. My favorite is the gnocchi. Have also tried the arancinis and those are great as appetizers - Quick service Cons: - The restaurant can be quite cramped, crowded and loud during dinner hours. It's a feature of many restaurants in the area -- unless you're at a (highly coveted) corner table near the front or in the very back, it can be difficult to hear your dinner partners, and you might be brushing up against several tables at all times. read more

Much to our surprise, we just had a really good dinner here, and had we not shared a bottle of wine, it would've been pretty inexpensive too! Met friends who live nearby and they recommended Norma. They arrived early and snagged a table outside; they said they don't like eating inside because it's noisy, which is going some because the outside table we had was on the sidewalk along Ninth Avenue! Our friends eat here often and they recommended sharing 2 dishes. We thought we'd need more, but turns out they were spot on. The 4 of us split a bottle of a very good white wine (don't ask me which one, it we both liked it). They put slices of a good rustic bread and a small dish of olive oil on the table. My husband and I shared a fantastic salad - Frutta Seca e Gorgonzola. It had greens, tomatoes, roasted red pepper, Gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, and dried fruit (notably dried figs, which we love!). It was dense and delicious with a balsamic dressing that wasn't at all overpowering. For our main, we shared one of the tempting pizzas - ortolana. That's with eggplant, mozzarella, roasted pepper, zucchini and mushrooms. The eggplant and cheese dominated, and it's a small pie cut into 6 slices. That with the salad was quite enough to eat for the 2 of us! But who can resist a good Italian dessert?! If I went for lunch, I'd probably have had affogato but not in the evening. We shared a slice of Torta Della Nona, a shortbread lemon cake served with a dollop of whipped cream. Tasty, not spectacular, but we definitely demolished it. Give me allllll of the pizza. Everything I tried at NORMA was fantastic. I was with a group of people and we shared charcuterie and a few pies. Charcuterie is always my fave and here it was no exception. It came with at least four different meats, four different cheese (including truffle, yum) and various accompanists like a sweet jelly, olives and roasted peps. For pizza we went splits on sausage and broccoli rabe, prosciutto and arugula and eggplant. The pizza had the most delicious chewy and perfectly charred crust and flavorful tomato sauce. Service was friendly and the restaurant has a warm and inviting interior. We walked in and grabbed a table right up front, but when I went to the bathroom I noticed they had a really nice greenhouse in the back. I wish we knew about this option, but all good! I'll definitely keep NORMA in the rotation when I'm craving some authentic neapolitan style pizza. read more

In Manhattan for the weekend and this was the best dinner we had. We went on a Thursday around 7 with no reservation and got seated right away. We started with the arancini which was really unique and tasty. I got the lamb raft and my boyfriend got the Diavola pizza. The pasta was perfectly cooked and fresh and the ragu paired perfectly with the goat cheese. He said his pizza crust was to die for. With our hotel in Times Square, it was hard to find a place close by that was good, easy to get seated, and not super expensive, but this place fit the bill! read more

I'm not kidding when I say when I found this place, I immediately went back 4 days later. It's really that good. Everything about this place screams fresh, amazing ingredients. Even the marinara pasta was so simple yet so delicious. The pizzas are perfectly charred, thin sliced with fantastic options. Not sure where they get their eggplant or how they cook it, but something about them .. wow. Every dish I've gotten with it has been *chefs kiss.* They also start every table with warm, flaky bread and fresh olive oil!! Exceeded expectations! A little corner of heaven in Hell's Kitchen (truly, no pun intended, I realized it as I was typing and decided to just let it happen). You're going to look at the menu and be like oh man, $10 for 2 pieces of bruschetta? Get the bruschetta. It is 1000% worth it. Perfectly charred, can you believe how red those tomatoes are? (no filter), and the olive oil on it was *chef's kiss.* I got the Norma, my boyfriend got the margherita. Their crust is very interesting -- perfect fluffiness, but cornmeal (or something similar to cornmeal) covering the entire crust. I really liked it, I felt like it made it a little crispier/helped it support the toppings. The eggplant on the Norma was sliced and roasted to perfection (not too thick and great consistency). My boyfriend, a harsh NY pizza critic (we're from Jersey, I can't blame him) actually said, "Finally, a pizza place in New York City that I can recommend!" (I know, I know.) When we arrived around 8:29/30 we were lucky to find a table, first outside but because of the hot weather, we easily go inside. My husband, me and our friend got the Regina con bufala, while his girlfriend the capricciosa. Pizza was really good. The quality of ingredients is high. Every time we've had Norma's, whether dining in or delivered, just for two or for a large group, the service, food, and drinks are always consistently good. We've had: Arancini (rice balls) I don't think you can go wrong with any of the four options, but my current favorite is the Ragu. Sizeable and shareable, delicious and tantalizing for the main course. Pizza So many good options here, too, but the two most notable are the Diavola with spicy salami, and the Margherita, which is simple yet made extremely well Pasta Pasta alla Norma and the Lamb Tagliolini are the favorites all around for their pastas and the Taramisu finishes it all off nicely. I was even more surprised when the pasta, arancini, and taramisu held up extremely well when we had them delivered - tasted like it had just come out of the oven / kitchen, yet packaged perfectly. While the cocktails are good - Norma is definitely about the food. They've also got a significant wine list, too!
