Ordered breakfast takeout via phone since the online ordering method wasn't available yet. The order taker didn't repeat the order nor give the total price as all order takers should. When I arrived, the food was ready, but I saw that an item was missing. They pretty quickly brought out the replacement. I also noticed that they had put three orders of sausage patties in the bag, which totaled 9 patties when I had just said three patties in total. I didn't know how many patties came in an order. I just wanted three patties and they charged me, but that was OK that time since I was trying this place's breakfast for the first time. I let that slide, but again, had the order take gotten clarification, that wouldn't have happened. It was pretty busy in the place. read more

This location by Ontario Mills just opened. My wife and I decided to try it out on 7/18/23. We came in late in the evening so the place was not packed and we're seated right away. The ambiance is great and has a nice diner atmosphere. The service still needs improvement as the servers may still be in their training phase. One of our order came out wrong and was missing food items. Our server was friendly but rushing most of the time. The food were not as fresh at it should be and may have been waiting in the kitchen for our server to serve them. We will be coming back to give it another try and taste their other food items. Update 7/22/23 Just got back from having lunch at Norm's. I am sorry but the service really needs work. We've been wanting to try this location since they had signs of their eventual opening years ago. They finally opened earlier this year and we finally had lunch here today. I will say the only good thing I have to say about our lunch today was our server. She was friendly and mostly attentive to our needs. The food is why this becomes a low rated review. I had the T-bone steak meal with mashed potatoes. It was supposed to come out medium rare, but it was super well done and thin. The filet part of the t-bone was basically pointless at how overcooked it was. My coworker ordered the same thjng but with a baked potato; let's say the filet part of his T-bone was missing (ie it might as well be a New York strip at this point). My mashed potatoes and gravy were both super salty and disappointing. The salad was good, and so was the potato soup. I also had a strawberry lemonade with my meal that was quite refreshing but might be a bit sweet for some. It's a Norm's diner, so I wasn't expecting the best; but this experience was far below my expectancy. Let's face it, when you go to a restaurant, the food is what matters most, followed by service. Sadly, I really can't recommend this location based on this experience. read more

Omg worst service ever!! We arrive and it's not packed because we got there before the crowd got there. Our waitress takes our order, Nelson orders the Liver plate and I order the club sandwich on wheat bread. I noticed the waitress doesn't write it down but no biggie because I know there are some waitresses that could memorize orders. We wait and wait and wait and wait. I see her come with 1 plate and it's Nelson's plate and we look and it's meatloaf. He then tells her "I didn't order meatloaf, I ordered Liver" so she apologizes and said she will put in the correct order in. I ask about my order and she said she would look into it. We wait and wait and wait then brings mine and it's on white bread. I tell her "I asked for wheat bread, not white" She then says Omg okay let me get this fixed. We wait and wait and wait and she comes with 1 plate again and she puts it on the table and guess what's on the plate "MEATLOAF" We literally told her to cancel my sandwhich because we are leaving! Super excited norms is finally opened! I went there for dinner and was expecting it to be super packed but they are still in their soft opening phase. I first thought the location and environment is inviting, opened and clean. They do have minimal outside seating, which is great if I bring my dog. We were seated immediately which is great. The menu had a lot of selection and options which was great. My boyfriend got breakfast and I got a dinner selection. I loved the portions my dinner came with both soup and salad, a side and veggies which was great. I tried the meatloaf and it came with bacon on top which was a nice touch. We also got the country fried chicken, with eggs and hashbrown which was great. Vince was attentive and helpful. The bus guys were nice and quick with their service too they helped clear the tables and were polite. We appreciate the help. Great first impression. read more

Called in to order takeout around 9pm on a Saturday night (1/4/2025). The host instructed our order would be ready in 20 minutes. Arrived 25 minutes after we placed our order & the host instructed us to pay prior to receiving our order. I don't know if she took it personal as we left a $2 tip on the receipt, then the host went to the kitchen & took some time to come back out as we were hoping to receive our order. She then told us it would take another 10 minutes for our order to be ready, which is not a big deal. We ordered the Sirloin Steak BIGGER BETTER BREAKFAST & a stack of hot cakes with strawberries. The restaurant didn't seem to be busy as there were only a few tables occupied by customers. Upon opening our takeout, the food did not look appetizing at all to ingest. No big deal, looks may be deceiving & we were hoping the taste would make up for it. The very disappointing part of this takeout experience is the food is not edible at all! If you would like an experience of paying $24 for food you'll end up throwing out due to the hot cakes being hard as a rock & the steak being tuff and if you may excuse my language tasted like eating donkey sh!t. Which I find funny since we communicated with the host for the steak to be cooked medium. The eggs were requested to be sunny side but looked as if they scraped up sum eggs off the kitchen floor & slapped into our takeout. We were very surprised to have wasted our money on food we did not to expect to look & taste horrendous. We've been to the other location and had a nice time so since we were in this neck of the woods we decided to try this one. Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed our dinner. We had the chef's sampler platter that had onion rings, fried shrimp, mozzarella sticks, and chicken fingers. All of it was fried well and tasted good. My husband got the sausage biscuit and grave with eggs and enjoyed it. I got the chicken fried steak and was less impressed. My steak was overcooked and tough. I could barely cut through it with a knife. I ended up sending it back and getting a waffle which was good. The sever was really nice about it and I didn't feel bad even though the waffle was cheaper because I did enjoy the clam chowder and salad that came with my meal. My middle daughter had the chocolate chip pancakes but the chips weren't even in the pancakes and they weee just so-so. The service was great and that made up for the problems with the food. The place was cute and the bathrooms were clean. I would come back again for the waffles and sample platter but skip the rest. read more

The food was great and our waitress was awesome. Amazing service from her! The hostess (name begins with "Ph" and a shaved head gentleman in the very front are the worst!! When they were on a phone call or engaging in conversation with their coworkers, they NEVER acknowledged walk up customers nor did they tell us that someone will be with us shortly. The lobby was very hectic filled with lots of customers, some waiting for their tables others looked to be waiting to pay their check and others like myself waited to be checked into the waiting list but it was confusing as there was no structure or direction, no way to tell which line to stand in. The woman at the front, I think her name is Phyllis, she was on a phone call for a unusually extended period and did not lift her head or us any eye contact to acknowledge incoming or outgoing guests. There was no direction and where the crowd of guests should be. The shaved head gentleman handled most of the paying guests and once the line grew short when my husband and I came to pay, after the lengthy line shortened, he turned away to speak to a coworker without asking us to wait for the next cashier even though he was the only cashier. Finally a man, who looked to be a member of management called us over to collect payment for our check.
