The service here was terrible, we were a party of 4 and got seated no waitress came to our table until about 15 mins other people that got seated after us got quicker service and even got their food before we even got our drinks. We sat for 30 mins and I had to go speak to someone to ask about our food. The food was great and our waitress was awesome. Amazing service from her! The hostess (name begins with "Ph" and a shaved head gentleman in the very front are the worst!! When they were on a phone call or engaging in conversation with their coworkers, they NEVER acknowledged walk up customers nor did they tell us that someone will be with us shortly. The lobby was very hectic filled with lots of customers, some waiting for their tables others looked to be waiting to pay their check and others like myself waited to be checked into the waiting list but it was confusing as there was no structure or direction, no way to tell which line to stand in. The woman at the front, I think her name is Phyllis, she was on a phone call for a unusually extended period and did not lift her head or us any eye contact to acknowledge incoming or outgoing guests. There was no direction and where the crowd of guests should be. The shaved head gentleman handled most of the paying guests and once the line grew short when my husband and I came to pay, after the lengthy line shortened, he turned away to speak to a coworker without asking us to wait for the next cashier even though he was the only cashier. Finally a man, who looked to be a member of management called us over to collect payment for our check. He just looked and said he will see what he can do! another 15 mins went by, we got up and went towards register where he was and said we are leaving, service here is terrible! I went to this location a few days after it opened and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very attentive, the food quality was spot on what we've come to expect from Norms, high quality. I'm really happy this location has opened, as it's a pain to get to the Covina or Rialto locations sometimes from the Rancho area. read more

It's unfortunate that my initial review of one star was removed for sharing how disappointed we were for receiving the worst customer service. If I could, I wouldn't even give them a one star. From beginning to end, the service we received was the worst. The waiter was forgetful, didn't pay attention to what we ordered, wasn't at all attentive to our needs and just joked and smiled while he knew that we were completely upset at him taking long serving the food in a timely manner. The waiter didn't even attempt to offer a replacement option when we received a very burned/dry chicken. Overall, DO NOT support this location, it might be best to drive to another Norms to receive the customer service that is expected. read more

Food was great customer service was just ok. Took about 10 minutes for the hostess to find a table when the place was practically empty. Took the server another 10 minutes to get us drinks. My wife went to the restroom and there was no seat covers or toilet paper. Once we finished our meal took them 5 minutes to help us out .. the service was absolutely terrible at this place. we ordered at 11 pm and constantly had to ask for the drinks we ordered and we finally got them after waiting for almost an hour. The food took nearly 2 hours. my burger came hard and cold with sauce when i ordered it with no sauce. our party had initi asked to split the bill and our waitress said it was okay; but then at the register she told us it was all on one receipt. i would not recommend eating here, it was the most ridiculous dining experience i've ever had. read more

Our service was a very nice lady but the food was actually inedible. The wait was 3 hours for one booth and the waiting area had around 59 people standing. My group had to sit outside in the 50 degree wind. Even though there were lots of groups waiting, it wasn't very busy. Only three tables occupied. There was also a possibly homeless man harassing my group. He growled at us and tried to pull my children's hair. Now to the food, I ordered the patty melt. More like a fatty melt. The avocado had the texture of a tennis ball. They gave me around 2 fries with my order. And don't get me started with the meat. What meat even is that? It was literally not food. My children ordered the cotton candy lemonade, it was boiling hot? It was supposed to come with ice. My man bought the blackened salmon. It was spicy but alright. Now the carrots on the side were the worst part. The carrots were so mushy, they looked like my uncle's elbows. Old and crusty. For this food, we got NO REFUND. Don't bother coming. The management her needs to be ashamed of themselves. My wife I went to dine here at approximately 3am on a weekday. While we were there, there was only ONE waitress waiting on tables, cleaning off tables, and ringing up customers all by herself. Also, the mens bathroom was a sleeping room for the homeless and I couldn't even use the bathroom. I then advised the waitress of the issue, and she said that there was nothing that she could do about it because she was the only one there besides the cook. We came here to try the new Norm's but service was really bad. They messed up in my daughters order and took another 20 min to get her plate out. My server, Belen was great I had a porterhouse steak and with scrambled eggs white toast, the food quality was 9/10 But the service was 11/10 My server was attentive, paid attention to my order and my family's order and was able to accommodate and project all the positive things norms has to offer, I will come back and I recommend asking for Belen next time you visit :) read more

Wow, where do I start. I guess I will start with the Toupee wearing manager sarcastically ask me a second time what was wrong with my steak, I mean, my piece of fat after I explained to him once which royally pissed me off. He acted like he could care less that he had a unsatisfied customer. Because of his sh&ty response, I turned up the heat on him and raised my voice so everyone dining there could hear me. Mr Toupee then grabbed my plate and slammed it under the counter and stormed off like a unprofessional Mgr would do. His own employees shook theirs heads in disbelief with his behavior. Mind you all this happened after the bad service and the disgusting restroom situation. It was so bad. There was a open Topatio bottle with no shaker cap sitting in the coffee sugar rack like that was okay. I would have to say maybe 10 employees walked by it after I took it out of the rack and not one grabbed it off the counter. The bottle was really disgusting with dried debris all over it. I think the employees should receive additional customer service training. I don't think they realize or care that Norms is an iconic restaurant chain. I have dined at many Norms restaurants all over S. Calif and this has been my worst experience. read more

This is a late post but i just can't get over the horrible, unprofessional service i received on xmas day my friend and boyfriend went to eat dinner and got seated ignored for a long while had to ask the bus boy if he could get us drinks and when our waiter came to our table he said sorry i am busy, he took our order and came back with two salads forget one when asked where is the 3 rd salad he said i just don't have it walked away came back with plastic forks and stated we don't have any silverware but yet the people behind us were sat 15 minutes after us received silverware, drinks and order was taken while we were still waiting for the salad than when our food finally arrived my order was wrong i asked our waiter what is your problem with us he said what do u except when u come in on xmas i told him to walk away from the table so i can get the manager she was very embarrassed and upset with his behavior she gave us a free appetizer and fixed my dinner immediately and apologized for his behavior she also was very upset that he had given us plastic silverware i will return because the food is good but if i get that same waiter i will walk out read more

Norms is a usual go to for us. Today service lacked. After we were seated and our order was taken, 15-20 min go by and we're expecting at least our soup and salads would have arrived, nothing. 30 mins later not even a refill check up, or let me see what is taking forever. But our server was going to other tables being very bubbly and going back and forth checking back with their orders doing 2-3 trip for other tables. Doesn't acknowledge us, we didn't get his name didn't catch it (skinny server he has glasses) after 40 mins and yet to receive our s&s we decided walked out put $5 FOR THE DRINKS we ordered on the table. And not meant as a tip. Went back to ask for manager and they didn't have one on sight. Told them to please make management aware of service. read more

I came here 3 different times and I have to say this place isn't very friendly/welcoming. I'm not sure if the staff is over worked or management is rude to their staff which makes them preform poorly. Each waitress we had all different times seem to be checked out. I sure hope their service will improve. I gave it a few shots hoping I was wrong but I don't want to come back here for this reason. Also I was gross they did not have soap in the bathroom it was just foaming sanitizer. Which if the staff is using that to wash their hands isn't cleaning it like soap will and then their touching our food. I have been eating at the original Norms in Anahiem for years. For some reason, their franchise stores leave a lot to be desired. We tried the Norm in Claremont once and never went back. Now, a new in Norms in Ontario opened, so we thought we would try it. The kitchen help could not figure out that you need to butter both slices of toast. Then, a waitress tried to explain why they didn't. My two eggs must have come from quails. I had had them finished in two bites. They must use a ruler to slice off a thin slice of hash brown. I will say my Country fried steak was good and our waiter, Fernando was busy the entire time. I think he needs some help. I don't think we will be coming back to this Norms again. I will have to wait until I am in Anahiem again. read more
