Stepped away from my desk momentarily today to have lunch with a couple of friends and former colleagues! Didn't even know this place was here, much less that it's in the building of a seminary of the same name! Very cute little cafe. Tons of parking available, at least while we were there. There's ample seating inside but there's also nice tables and chairs outside with the picturesque pond that has geese and ducks. We opted for the outdoor seating. We had to wait a bit to be helped as the ladies behind the counter were super busy getting orders out. The cashier was friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a mixup with the Yelp offer on check-in, but we got it sorted out rather quickly. We each ordered separately, but we ended up ordering the same thing. Apparently they're known for their chicken pesto panini, so we all opted to try it. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the pesto was amazing and the roasted red peppers and onions complemented the sandwich perfectly. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition to the geese and ducks, there's apparently a resident egret that happened to visit our table. He seemed pretty used to people and appeared to want to join us. I'd never been that close to one before. It was cool but he was also kind of freaking me out lol! Will definitely have to come back here and try more of their menu now that I know they are here! I have been wanting to try this place but haven't had the opportunity until they popped up on the app Too Good to Go. I am so glad I did! I paid $9.78 total for 1 Deli surprise bag and what I got far surpassed what I paid for it. Starting off with location and parking, it's located inside a big building that is called Gateway Seminary. I didn't know what to expect but it looks just like a regular office building but happens to have a nice view of a man made lake complete with a water feature and ducks! Parking was pretty easy but you may have a far walk across the parking lot if it happens to be full. I got lucky and got a spot near the handicap spaces. There was a girl working outside and I asked her if that was the deli and she said yes and held the door open for me. Inside is like a regular little deli cafe where you order from a counter. Both employees that I talked to were friendly and kind. It was an easy transaction as they already had the bag of food waiting in the cooler for me. Now for the food, I received a delicious orange cranberry muffin. The label says it was made by Old Town Baking Company in Rancho Cucamonga. My son and I split it and we both agreed it was the best Orange cranberry muffin we have ever had. I also received a nice size cup of soup. I'm not sure what kind of soup it was but it had veggies in it and it was delicious and tasted like it was made from scratch. I also received a large Harvest salad that was nicely put together and I gave it to my bf for his lunch. The last box was a large container with seasoned rice, noodles, broccoli and carrots, caramelized onions and topped with 4 large grilled shrimp. I'm having some of that for lunch today and it is delicious ! This place far exceeded my expectations. The food tastes like it was prepared by an experienced chef and I really appreciate that. I would not mind paying full price knowing the quality of food they serve. Highly recommend. read more

Great small cafe. Conveniently located for me. I tried their chicken pesto panini Seasonings were there for me. Pesto sauce was good. The bread was amazing! I feel like it was the star of the show. The Gateway Deli & Cafe is inside the lobby of the Gateway Seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention. Consequently, it is likely frequented by serminary students, staff, and faculty. However, it is open to the public as is the seminary library. I typically only go here to study in the mornings before the library opens. From 7:30-11:00 they are typically not crowded. The atmosphere is just like Starbucks, Peet's, Coffee Bean, or which ever major chain you like to go to. There are plugs at many of the tables so that you can sit there and do work beyond your device battery life. The pricing is also generally comparable to those chains, however, some items may be even more pricey likely due to COVID, inflation, and their location. As most places do now, they take Apple Pay as well as cards and cash. The people who work here are typically friendly and efficient. The seminary lot is huge and there is always parking available. The seminary is in a business park and so the neighborhood is safe and clean. This is a great place to grab a drink, snack, or meal on your lunch break or to come do some work in a casual atmosphere with music playing in the background. I have studied and worked in coffee shops like this for decades far before when this was fashionable to do and I can highly recommend this cafe as a great place to hang out and do just that. read more

Interesting place for a deli. Cute inside, workers were regular workers doing a job nothing crazy about service. I had the chicken pesto , was pretty decent, maybe a little too much sauce.. my bread got a bit mushy. Quite pricey.. 15$ for your item and an additional 6$ for a combo with a drink & soup , salad or pasta. I think the Starbucks turkey pesto sandwich is just as good if not better. read more

People are friendly, order a prastrami sandwich on rye, must of gotten the orders mixed up cuz my sandwich was on a row and didn't have any peppers or bananas in it. The sandwich was still great but only reason for 3 stars is that my order wasn't correct. read more

The food was pretty pricey, but I got the breakfast burrito which was decent for the price(thanks to the suggestion from the staff). I don't go to the school associated with the cafe so I didn't have access to WiFi which was a shame. I had to hot spot from my phone. I'd definitely go back if the WiFi wasn't locked down. read more

Such a hidden gem! I cannot believe I found this location during my last weeks of courses but better late than never! I came by during lunch time and it quickly got busy so I would definitely recommend calling in or stopping by sooner! I got their BBQ chicken panini and my friends got their pesto chicken panini and all had good things to say about it. The parking lot is shared amongst the plaza so there is plenty of parking. It is somewhat lowkey but as your walk through the sliding doors of the business that it is connected with, you can easily spot this gem! read more

Oh man, super glad this place finally reopened!! Got the loaded tots (changed from fries) with beef brisket and three of their special homemade sauces. Plenty of portion and the brisket tastes awesome. You can tell slow cooked with care. Will def be back. read more

Tried another deli prior to going here but it was closed so we decided to go here and when we got here it was hard to find no signage out front only give away was the large building that said Gateway Sanctuary and the deli was located inside the building which seemed more like the company's snack bar, it was a hard find for out of towners. I will say food wise my chicken bacon ranch paninni was good but the smoked brisket chili was really good. My co workers said there food was just ok and it was bit pricey. read more

Used my bogo offer from fb messenger. Tried the chicken pesto panini and the philly cheesecake. (Ate half of each and took the rest home) Made one a combo and got chips, a drink and the lasagna soup. Really enjoyed the soup, great flavor. The panini was really messy but tasty. Too many red onions for my taste. The cheese stake could use more cheese. Also way too much Mayo and mustard. I wish they had the ingredients listed under each sandwich so you know know exactly what comes on them. I think I would enjoyed them better if I would have modified it to my liking. It's really hard to find a good sandwich in the Inland Empire but our first visit to Gateway Deli was 5/5 . My wife and I took advantage of their bogo promotion and both got paninis which were really damn good . The only downside is they are open mostly during office hours since I'm sure 90% of their business comes from the many office buildings so sadly I'm not sure when we'll get a chance to go again since we work office hours on the other side of town . read more

1. The food is overpriced for reheated stuff. 2. The service is EXTREMELY slow. A simple smoothie apparently takes 30 minutes to make. The coworkers are literally not doing anything in a circle gossiping and on the phone. 3. I have found so many hairs and crap in my food almost every time I try to order something from here. 4. Half the time they're out of whatever they need to make the sandwich or they don't want to go to the back to get the ingredients and COMPLAIN to you that it would require them to go get the stuff from back lol like what? Aren't you paid to work? All the female works are rude and take at least 30 minutes to serve your food. There are two male workers that actually work but unfortunately are never there. Gateway Cafe just recently underwent new management and they've got some new things going like their salad bar! Everything I have had so far is great! The cafe is always lively and I enjoy studying or taking study breaks there. I've always liked their cold brew and love that their beans are from Lanna Coffee Co. I found this place when I happened to be in the area and I must say, WHAT A GREAT FIND. At first I was a little skeptical because when I arrived, it appeared to be inside of a graduate school. However, I am so happy I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and go inside! I was thoroughly impressed with this cafe that is on the bottom floor of a seminary. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo. They handed me a small form to custom-make my sandwich. I appreciate when a sandwich place offers so many options. I ordered a chicken pot pie soup that was very flavorful and I ordered a panini style turkey sandwich with onions, tomatoes, avocado, light mayo, lettuce, with pepper jack and provolone cheese. They accidentally gave me a full sandwich instead of a 1/2. When I brought this up to Angel, the owner, she was extremely gracious and said that it was okay. Three different workers, including the owner, made an intentional effort to ask me how the food was. They even walked the food over to me which I found strange (in a good way) because most cafe-type places like this will simply call you when you're food is ready.
