I've been ordering takeout pizza from Northwest Pizza & Pasta Co. since moving to Ashland last November...it's great! The staff is super friendly and they've really taken care of us. In fact, we had a mistake with a delivery once, but when I called about it, they offered to correct it, and then gave us a free pizza for our next order. Tonight was the first night I hung out in the restaurant...and it's got a great vibe to it. It is under new ownership, and they've really fixed the place up! I was there with a party of 16, and they took care of us and we had great service. I'd highly recommend this to anyone passing through Ashland, or who is a local. Bugsy likes a hideout that is off the beaten path. One where pretension is put aside, where people care about what they serve, where servers smile, and where owners ask for your input... a family place with classic video games, large screen tv's, toys for the kiddos, and so forth The transition of this old-school Ashland establishment from the old owners to the new ones seems to be going well--lots of changes, but nothing too over the top. While some prices have increased, the fact that the old prices reflected those of the 1990's, I can respect the minor increase. With the change in price has come better service, a cleaner restaurant (new bathrooms, updated dining room, a VERY strong health inspection score of 97, etc). Also, the menu has been updated and the product coming out of the kitchen has improved quite a bit. Service has been excellent, and is now table service. We love the waitress (red hair) and Morgan (one of the owners), both of whom are excellent on the floor. On the last visit, we had a great chat with him on the future of the restaurant. It's clear they want to make the place a bit more updated and fresh without losing the family atmosphere...I think they are well on their way! We especially like the Jo Jo's (garlic and parm a must), the Gourmet Greek pizza (which has improved...seems the crust is better), and the beer selection, which ranges from local micro to a good ol' PBR Don't forget to try a chocolate sundae...new on the menu and absolutely delicious. We found it to be a great finish to an already solid meal on our last visit. read more

On a cross-counry trip in need of delivery on Oscar Sunday, owner Morgan himself arrived at my hotel door. As a north-easterner, I researched extensively for pizza delivery, because in my neck of the country, Pizza Hut or any national chain is unthinkable. My small, extra cheese and black olive from Northwest did not disappoint--it arrived timely, fresh, and hot. The crust was a hint wheaty with the right amount of flour dust, crisp yet chewy. Also got spaghetti with Italian sausage that was ample in fennel flavor and volume. I just love the classic American story of a family start-up saving and revitalizing a forlorn establishment. The pizza and pasta were poor to mediocre. The delivery service was appalling. They said 45 minutes for delivery. At a well-run pizza place, this would be a conservative estimate and they would beat it by 5-10 minutes, resulting in a delighted customer. In this case, it took 30 minutes MORE than the quote for the pizza to arrive. An hour and 15 minutes of waiting, and the result was utterly underwhelming food. I was cursing. NW Pizza, I will not miss your underwhelming service. I have had more bad experiences at this restaurant, from rude employees to my food being under and over cooked at times, than any other restaurant I ever frequented. The last experience I had took the cake. I ordered food, they told me 20 minutes, in 20 minutes I walked through the door and they said "it's not done yet, 5 minutes" and they didn't hand me my food for 20 more minutes. I already paid or I would have just left. In the past I've called for delivery and they told me it would be at least an hour (???) and again opted to pick up and the timing was all off and had to wait. They are obviously not good with time management or prioritizing orders. They act weird (huffy) when you ask for the student discount and lets all be honest- no one wants that many jo-jos- EVER. A half order is like a full 12" pizza box full and they always get tossed. It's wasteful. I ate with a group of 10 at this place once, we ordered an order of jo-jos and didn't even finish half. Waste! ------------- Responding to the shop owner: I am definitely not the only person complaining about the portion size of your JoJo's- it's actually a huge running joke that you're obviously not in on. The person always behind the grill when I have come into your restaurant was you- so are you going to train yourself on time management? That'd be super! As far as the student discount being a gift not a right, why even offer it if you're going to make individuals feel bad about asking for it? You are probably kept open by the business the college is drumming up, just like every business in Ashland, and offering a student discount for your overpriced gruel isn't something extremely special you should be praised for- it's actually common practice in college towns. Just by reiterating that it's a "gift" further more provides an explanatory window into your own entitled behavior. You're no saint, you're a jerk. read more

This is hands down my favorite pizza place in Southern Oregon. Customer service is always great and fun. Morgan and his staff are hustlers. I've been in there on slow days and many packed nights. That crew can handle a crowd. We love to go there for Oregon Duck games. You can even reserve a table for your crew on game day! Great beer selection and some good booze options. We usually get jojos piled high with jalapenos and cheese they are huge and last all 4 quarters of a game haha We always leave happy. I love the burgers and CHEESECAKE. But also the the owner supports this community harder than anyone I know, Giving away a portion of his sales to many local charities and schools. Hes a great business owner and cares about all the people here. So I'm all for supporting his yummy business :) read more

I'm glad I read the Yelp reviews because I would have just driven by otherwise. The pizza was delicious -- a sauce that tastes like fresh tomatoes, just the right amount of cheese, plump mushrooms slices and thin pepperoni that crisps at the edges atop a chewy/crunchy crust. My server said her husband studied at culinary school and that they had recently bought the place. I was a regular back in the 1970s and I was a college student and Angelo's was Ashland's idea of great pizza. Subsequent owners still never quite delivered. This tastes like the pizza I had in Italy, especially the delicate sauce. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in town. read more

My husband surprised me with dinner from this business last night for Mother's Day. He ordered a pizza and Fettucine Alfredo. The pizza was ok if not a little over done. The Alfredo was horrible. The sauce had separated and was watery. There was also not enough for two people. This place used to be great. Last night's dinner caused me and my husband to have indigestion all night. Fantastic food, better service! The cook(maybe owner?) Came out as soon as we were served our water, and gave our 2 girls about 10 quarters each for the arcade games. Meh. This pizza place is somewhere we always go take-out/delivery for, and I guess the service is more bad that way. When arrived, it's a gamble. It can be really greasy and soggy and cause a headache for some reason, or it can be great pizza to eat. Sometimes the crust will be gooey and the sauce causes the sogginess. I don't know why. Added 2 stars for the 50/50 chance that the pizza is good. I will keep ordering here, but I hope to see less bad pizzas from here on out or you might lose my service. read more

My husband and I were staying in an Ashland hotel for the weekend. Yesterday we had a late lunch and weren't hungry for dinner until 8:30 at night. We were tired from a long bike ride that day, so pizza delivery sounded like the easiest option (and safest, given that we are all still dealing with Covid). After a couple recommendations from the front desk we chose Northwest Pizza. What a great find! They delivered within 30 minutes late on a Saturday night directly to our room. My husband ordered a calzone and said it was one of the best he's ever had. I had pepperoni/pineapple pizza and it was so good! They are also able to deliver a 6 pack of certain beers ;) We will definitely be ordering from here again the next time we are in town. read more

While visiting Ashland, my husband and I stopped at this establishment for lunch. I ordered the Highway 66 Pizza and my hubby had a cheeseburger. The pizza was fantastic! It had all the meats and zero grease! I am highly impressed at the quality of ingredients used. The burger and home cut fries was amazing too....it was cooked perfectly to order. We've had two totally different experiences with this business thus far. The first was a visit to the actual restaurant in which the food was good and the service was prompt and pleasant. Nothing too amazing but definitely an improvement from the previous owners. The second experience doesn't even really warrant one star. We ordered food for delivery and about an hour later, still no pizza. I called them and the owner told me that he couldn't find my place and didn't have his phone on him, so he had just taken the food back to the restaurant, and for me to come pick it up. I complied since I was so hungry, and after asking if I would receive a discount for my cold and VERY late meal, they basically laughed and said "no discount". Terrible business practice in a small town like Ashland where it's all about the connections you build. We are locals in the restaurant industry with family in it as well and continually recommend against Northwest. read more

I just had pizza delivered by this business momentarily ago. I called and placed my order with them, and I was informed that I would be approximately 20 minutes until it arrived. When it is had still not arrived 45 minutes later, I called back and was told by the gentlemen at the business that it had only been "25 minutes my count" since I called and placed an order. I could tell that this was incorrect by looking at the call record on my cell phone... the pizza ended up arriving about 55 minutes after the original order was placed. I understand that somethings take longer than anticipated at a restaurant but I am giving this restaurant a very low rating for blatantly lying to me about when my original order was placed. (I am fine with things being late if they give me the courtesy of explaining it would be late and apologizing, but it is unacceptable to lie to your customers about when the order was placed) read more

NW Pizza and Pasta Co is a fun place to watch a football game, baseball game, or to relax with friends and enjoy a cold beer. Their specialty pizzas are quite lovely as are just a plain cheese. The salads are HUGE, I highly recommend the gorgonzola, pear and walnut salad! I went there with my boyfriend for his mom's birthday one time and the owner (who is very lovely to talk to) gave us extra cheesecake with candles on each of the pieces. Overall the atmosphere is fun and lighthearted! A definite must go if you are living in Ashland and want to get out for the night. Oh! Plus they have an open mic night once a week and some of the local bands are AMAZING, a must see. read more

My family has unfortunately had a poor experience. We've catered pasta dishes from them in the past and they have been delicious! Naturally we wanted to cater from them for my brother's graduation this upcoming weekend. We are driving up from California, so all arrangements had to be made over the phone. My mother called this past Thursday, Friday, and Sunday discussing what dishes we wanted, pricing, etc. On Monday 6/11 my mother calls again to finalize arrangements including delivery/pickup time only to be told my the owner that they will no longer make the dishes for my brother's grad party. Now we're left scrambling trying to find new meals to feed a party of 40 in 3 days, most of which are coming out of state. Very disappointed. read more

Much more than a pizza joint, but the pizza is excellent, you have your choice of thin or thick crust or Stromboli, red sauce or white sauce and just about any topping you can imagine, most are local sourced. The salad choices are inventive and the serving sizes are plentiful for the entree sizes, again much is local and very fresh. The burgers are outstanding and come with the choice of regular fries or very delicious Jo-Jo's. The beer and wine selection is average size but very select and anybody should be able to find a beverage to suit their taste. To top it off service is stellar and the owner is one of the nicest persons you will ever meet who goes the extra yard in supporting local sports. I will be back whenever I'm in Ashland. read more

Just passing through town. This place is kid friendly and has a great menu. Gluten free pizza crust is delish, lots of TVs to watch games, 5 arcade games, pool and coloring books. Not loud at all.
