This is a great place to hang out and the staff is friendly. I like their burgers and fries.

This place is interesting...it is going for that British pub vibe and has the decor. The menu is a bit all over the place w/american pub fare, brit pub fare, and indian curry options. After my visit here, I am still not quite sure what to make of it, but the service was great, the food good, and $2 Lone Stars all day every day is always fine w/me. I ordered the fish n chips (because I had to). I am a bit of a snob when it comes to my fnc prefs since I have been across the pond and had various variations (the good, the bad, and the ugly), but was ruined for anywhere else when I had the best of my life in Newfoundland. That being said, the fish n chips here ranks as "not bad". The fish was very fresh, but the breading was just a bit soggy and the fish not as flaky as I would have liked. It comes w/waffle "chips", which were excellent! I usually eat my fnc w/malt vinegar because most places tartar sauce is the bastard child of mayo and bad intentions. The tartar sauce here, however, was rather tasty, had great consistency and complemented the fish well. I will say, while it was a novel and just a bit kitschy, I kinda loved the newspaper lining for the fish n chips basket. Sometimes it's the little things. I can see myself coming back and venturing to try their burger and eventually the curry, but happy to see a bit of "wee Britain" in Austin. read more

You get a lot of nosh for your buck! We ordered their fish and chips for St. Patrick's Day (I know. But we don't have an Irish chipper near us!) and we're so glad we did! The portions are massive. The fish was fried to perfection, and thanks to the newspaper wrapping, everything stayed piping hot through delivery. I like that they use cod, too. We luckily have malt vinegar at home since it didn't come with any, but I bet they offer it at the restaurant. I'll be checking them out again for some bangers and mash and a cheeky curry. My Fiancée and I went here on a cold rainy night for a quick meal and found some very good comfort food and a neat little bar tucked in a strip mall - who knew?! We ordered Bangers & Mash and Fish & Chips Bangers & Mash were *expletive* delicious. The bangers were slightly charred from a grill and smoky and juicy and I want to order them again as I write this. The gravy was salty, but not too salty, very flavorful, nice and onion-y. The mash was a little chunky and garlicky and a nice pairing overall. It was a 5 out of 5 stars for me. The Fish & Chips isn't served with the traditional "chips" (steak fries) but rather with waffle fries and I wasn't mad at it. They were very good and crispy. The fish was fried well, there was a good amount of it, and it was broken into pieces and fried rather than the 1 very large piece you would get at most places. The breading on the fish was SO good, it was crispy and actually had seasoning in it. I didn't find the fish to be greasy AT ALL like other reviews, but maybe they've changed their cooking method? I would 100% order this again. Service was really good considering how busy it was. This has become one of our favorite places. It has a quirky décor that's sort of strip mall eatery meets pub, with a smattering of sports bar. There's indoor seating and some tables outside. The staff and service are fantastic. The menu is simple with standard pub fare including fish and chips, bangers and mash, and curries. There's also burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads. My favorite dish is the Chicken Tikka Masala. There are usually some special items not listed on the menu that you just need to ask your server about. The beer selection is solid and they have a full bar. They know how to properly pour a Guinness. Everything I've ordered here has been good to great. The prices are very reasonable. It's a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I remember reading some time ago that British pubs aren't really bars, they're community living rooms. This place definitely fits that description. read more

Very cool spot where everyone seemed to know each other. Dark and cavernous as expected because, well, it's a bar...errr uh pub. Service was excellent and done with a smile. Charlie was nice, attentive and anticipated what I wanted before asking. Now, with all that good stuff, the reason I came was for the Fish & Chips. Unfortunately that wasn't as good as all the rest this spot had going for it. I recently returned from London and so I was looking to have Fish & Chips as I remembered it there. Portion size was huge for sure...on par with the UK. Unfortunately, both the Fish and the chips (battered waffle fries) were over cooked and possibly even refired. The batter on the fish was super thick (see pic) and made the fish servings seem bigger...but it was mostly batter very little fish. I must have caught them on a bad Friday Eve since most of the reviews say the Fish & Chips is the best in town. Decent, but not the best. read more

My friends and I came here after doing karaoke for my birthday. I wasn't sure how many people would be going, so I asked a few weeks before if we could reserve some tables to make sure we had enough space. I was surprised to find they'd reserved the entire back room for my group and they'd even put up some birthday decorations around the room with the Christmas ones. Our waiter, who I believe was Charlie, couldn't have been anymore attentive. He was checking on us all the time to the point that I think he might have been assigned only to us. He kept us supplied with drinks, delivered food orders throughout the night, and made sure we had everything we needed to serve the cake we'd brought. He let us use his lighter when we realized we'd forgotten one! He was super nice and attentive, got all of our multiple checks correct, and made sure we had everything we need. The old fashions were nice and sweet, which some people might not like, but were perfect for me. The fish and chips were huge and crispy and delicious. Everyone loved their food and the prices are great for what you get. I wish I lived closer to this place. We would be there all the time! read more

Have enjoyed my 2-3 times visiting the bar. Good for conversation and also being closer to the crowd near the bar. The staff are incredible and even though we have great bartenders around town, this staff really made me feel super welcome. 2019 was the year that I flirted with sobriety. But for my 40th birthday, I wanted to indulge in some good food & some good beer. I chose Nosh & Bevvy because we're planning a trip to London next year & I wanted to get a British pub experience here in Austin. Nosh is exactly what I was craving. Good selection of beers. I got something strong & dark. It hit the spot, alright. We went ahead & ordered our food at the bar, then moved into a booth where my man could keep his tipsy wife corralled. Didn't keep me from taking a ton of pictures! I was a bit of a tourist in this joint. But what do they expect? There's a classic red phone booth, a Bowie version of the Queen on the wall & Doctor Who posters! It's an Anglophile's dream! They brought our food to the booth piping hot. We didn't hold back. Got the fish & chips, bangers & mash and a shepherds pie. It was all savory, warm comfort food. I'm no judge of English fare. I can't speak as to how authentic their pub food is. But who cares? It's good! And I suspect it's the most authentic nosh you'll find this side of the pond. We're planning on returning to knock a few back for New Year's. Since it was my birthday, I got plenty of pics this time! A night at Nosh is worth it just to revel in the ultra English interior. read more

My fiance is half-British, and I kept trying to find a spot in Austin that would make him feel at home. I found Nosh & Bevvy though a Google search and decided to surprise him with a lunch date. When we arrived, he was blown away with all the British decor and details and could not stop gushing about how much he enjoyed the place. We ordered the Shepherd's pie and a salad and the pie was some of the best I've ever had. I could have done with a touch less salt, but the taste was deliciously rich and took me straight back to England! Our server's name was Charlie and was so attentive and friendly and by the end it just felt like he was an old friend. GOLD stars all around for Charlie!! My finance wants to make this "his new place", so we will be back. We're so excited we found this hidden British jewel deep in the heart of Texas! read more

This is a great neighborhood bar!! Bubbles and squeak (think like mashed potatoes and British veggies in a skillet under brown gravy, sawft) and Shepard's pie on the menu! Also classic fish and chips and a great merge of American crafts and English imports on draft. The TV's had something for everyone, Ms. Congeniality 2, preseason cowboys (ugh) and Houston Astros baseball! Easy parking. Nice pub feel. Darts and pool and good conversations all around. We were looking for a new "fish & chips" place as our standby location closed. Nosh & Bevvy had really nice reviews and were daily close to our area. It was amazing! Very fresh fish. And while I hate it when people say "it wasn't fishy tasting" come on...duh...it's fish, it should taste like fish; the fish was delicious and mild like "fish & chips" should be. They also had Blue Owl Sour Ale on tap. Great with the fish! We have definitely found our new "fish & chips" home. They also have other interesting thing we are looking forward to try. Check it out. After driving by this place all the time and constantly commenting on the fact that I needed to try it out, I finally got to come here with some friends. The inside is nice and dark, just the way I like my bars. There's not much to it, honestly, but I didn't come here for the interior decorating, you know? I expected (and hoped) it would be divey and that's exactly what I got. Thank you, dive bar jesus. The drink menu isn't super extensive, but it does the trick. They have a decent-ish selection of beers, but I wouldn't say they have a beer for everyone. They do have a beer for most people, though. They also have cocktails, but I didn't try any, so I can't comment on that. Like at any dive bar, I don't expect to get an awesome cocktail, so I expect theirs would probably be on par with any other dive bar: okay, but nothing to write home about. Stick with the beers if you're not feeling adventurous or if you're particular about your cocktails. The food, though. Let me tell you about the food. And by let me tell you about the food, I mean let me tell you about the food I had. We tried the fried pickles and the waffle fries to start, and both were great. I don't normally like waffle fries, but I liked these, so that's a win. The real winner? The curry. I know, I know, I ordered curry at a dive bar. Who would expect that to be good? What was I thinking? I was thinking about curry, man, and that chicken vindaloo was great. I asked for it to be extra spicy and they delivered. THEY GAVE ME SPICY FOOD. This is a big deal because most places don't trust me when I say I want really spicy food. But this was spicy and delicious and I couldn't believe it. Where in the world did this place come from and how do I make it stay forever? Delicious, spicy curry from a beautiful, dark bar with a wonderfully sweet waitress? It's like heaven. I don't remember what everyone said about their respective dishes, which probably makes me terrible, but I know I loved mine, so that's what really counts, right? My husband and I stopped in here the other night after I'd had a hankerin' for some shepherd's pie going on several days. I don't typically head over to Burnet Road on a Saturday night due to my aversion to places with a lack of parking, but Nosh & Bevvy is in the shopping center with Slick Willy's and The Common Interest so parking abounds. There looked to be a "usual" crowd gathered at the bar, and then our booth and another booth. I ordered the shepherd's pie and my husband ordered a single burger with waffle fries. First of all, it appeared that our waitress was also the bartender, but you'd never guess that she was pulling double duty because she was top notch with service. Now to the food. The potato-to-meat ratio was noticeably off in the shepherd's pie. There were a lot of potatoes and next to no meat. I haven't had a lot of shepherd's pies in my day but I've google image searched a lot of pictures (because I like them that much) and so I was put off a bit. However, it tasted good and was filling, and it wouldn't stop me from ordering it again. My husband said his burger was very good, and the waffle fries were beer battered. All prices are listed with tax included. For a shepherd's pie, hamburger/fries, and one beer plus tip, it was about $31. Nosh & Bevvy has plenty of seating, a full bar with some beers on tap, and fun British foods like Bangers & Mash and Bubbles & Squeak. We'll definitely be back. read more

[CAVEATS] I have been going to this place for more than a decade. This place isn't so much a place as it is a group. Brilliant, fast, smart, and attentive bartenders include: Alyssa, Anne, Thomas, and Sam. There are wonderful people there. The service is competent, and the owner is smart as a whip. Too shrewd, and cagey, really, and that shows. That's why this isn't a 5-star. But it could be and should be. But if you're a cold, crude vulcan vampire, you get your just non-desserts. [ACTUALS] But if you're not a part of the in-group, which is large, being there is going to feel duplicitous and weird. Again, I have been going there for a decade. Having said that, and that it's a social scene and a bar, far more than it is an actual restaurant. (It only became a restaurant out of strategic business decisions.) The food is fine. It was really, really good when their first chef worked there, but he had to move on. They burn the burgers and don't season them the same. They try to flip stupid add-ons like cheese or jalapeños onto your tab that sound free, but they aren't. The fish and chips used to be good, but the fish is smaller. You'll have an okay meal here, probably, but you should really only go here to drink and ruin your life. read more

How can you fuck up fish and chips? The fish wasn't even half cooked so it was actually cod sushi dripping with grease. Disgusting. I had the shits for two days.
