I had a craving for fries, so my boyfriend and I grabbed dinner at Joes. Our waitress was great and even had a tide stain pen in her pocket for when my bf had a little spill. We ordered their holiday sangria- it was delicious, but weak. The bread was so soft and the dipping oil was perfect. My veggie burger was made with too much rice, but it had a good flavor and the fries were thin and hot, just how I like them. My bf had the crab cake blt and loved it. This is the type of place I would return to with my picky family since they had a big menu. I also saw that they have a gluten free menu. read more

I love this place! There are so many reason why but I guess I'll start with the fact they are so very accommodating! Yes there have been times when my food hasn't been the greatest but they are always so quick to fix any issues and customize everything to suit your tastes. I really love that they have a stunning gluten-free menu. It makes my visits with a friend so much easier! The food is almost always fantastic too. The pizza is amazing, the drinks delicious, the entrees mouth watering and the apps so tasty they could be a meal in their own! Yes, sometimes it gets very busy and that results in slow service but that is to be expected at dine-in restaurants on Cape Cod. If you are in a hurry try the take-out! I will often get a salad and pizza to go int the winter months and they even include some of that amazing homemade foccacia! read more

Received message ASAP from Jimmie in Customer Relations. He was overly generous and sent a gift card. I finally returned to get take out on December 6-2016. I got the Spinach Salad with shrimp. It was awesome! Loved all of it. As a second entree, I got the Chicken Enchiladas. This entree was also wonderful! Great dressing for salad, great sauce on Enchiladas! Great portion sizes. Plenty of delicious bread and dipping sauce. Jessie greeted me. She was polite and patient. She was attentive to my requests for dressing on side, extra bread,and all was packed perfectly. I waited at bar, sipping a glass of water. The bartender was very polite. After returning for a second try, I would definitely return again. Wait staff is always great. Always look forward to the focaccia bread to start our dinner which is great when its warm, not very good tonight as it was cold and a bit stale. I've visited this restaurant several times when shopping at the mall. The service is always extremely slow and there's typically a long wait to be seated. One of my favorite dishes is the grilled salmon. However I like it cooked very rare. On two different occasions I have asked for it to be cooked rare, however it always arrives medium or well done. I end up having to send it back, which takes another 20 minutes for it to arrive. It is extremely frustrating. However, on the second try it is usually correct. Such a disappointment. We've been coming to Joe's for at least 30 years and I don't think we should blame the pandemic for what it has become. First of all, we walked in and it looked more like a cafeteria with bright lights rather than the chic and hip dining spot it used to be. Additionally it was 40ﾟ and everybody had their jackets on. Menu was a fraction of the items they used to offer. I ordered the mustard enrusted chicken and what arrived amounted to nothing more than Shake and Bake, boiled frozen broccoli and very unflavorful mashed potatoes. Even the wait staff did not reflect the past standards of excellence: instead of neately dressed wait staff all in black bottoms and white tops, hair pinned back and strikingly pleasant, we had a slovenly waitress with messy hair dangling in her face. The only things they managed not to destroy was the focaccia and dipping oil and the Peanut Butter Thing for dessert. And for the finale, my husband told staff when he made the reservation that it was my birthday and to please present the dessert with a candle...you know the rest, no candle. We wish we had my birthday dinner at Scargos Cafe in Dennis instead. read more

Not your average joes is my favorite restaurant and I ate at a lot of restaurants. It's got yummy bread and salad! It's got desserts and good menu and a bar too . Firstly the hostess today was very rude. When asked if my sister could have a coloring page she grabbed one aggressively.. didn't say a word and sat us down. Secondly our food took about 45-50 minutes for soup, a pizza and chicken parm. It wasn't busy there was no reason for that. Thirdly my chicken parm was burnt on the bottom and only half of the chicken wasn't chewy. Its always a 50/50 chance here but I wont be back. read more

We always come here for a quick appetizer and delicious drinks at the bar. All the staff is friendly and professional. Especially, bartender Anguli is absolutely great! She is super-fast, always cheerful and knowledgeable about the menu. And - she makes FANTASTIC margaritas! And she treats colleagues as nicely as she treats her guests no matter how busy she is. Its a chain. As far as chains go, this place is great. Its so far above typical similar chains that if I were just comparing it to other chains, I'd give it 5 stars, and still give places like TGIF and Applebys 1-2 stars. But while NYAJ is great compared to other chains, its only average compared to non-chain restaurants. Make sense? Pluses: pretty interesting menu, decent beer selection with several craft beers on tap, they use some local ingredients, service is almost always perfect, not expensive. Minuses: atmosphere, while better than most chains, still seems very calculated; kitchen staff doesnt seem to have the consistency of the waitstaff, sometimes food is overcooked; in general the execution doesnt live up to the menu. All that said, you can do MUCH worse than NYAJ's. Oh, and the tuna wonton app is excellent. Edit: This place has gone downhill in the past few years since I wrote the review. Went a few times and the food was not prepared well, kind of sloppy overall. I adjusted it from 3 stars to 2. Its still not horrible, just not someplace i would go anymore. read more

First time coming to this place. My fiancé and I were shopping and decided to grab a few apps and a drink. Wonderful, wonderful wonderful. Do not let the mall location fool you- this is great food at an even better price. We have been several times and always have amazing service. The Harvest Pork was some of the most tender, well seasoned pork, and was presented beautifully. We had a lovely surprise when our waitress, Tara, brought me a small sample of their pumpkin apple bisque after I waffled against getting it (in the cutest little cup to boot). Always great service, and amazing food. A tip that we enjoyed- if they are packed you can leave your cell phone with the hostess and they will text you when your table is ready: a nice excuse to get some shopping done instead of waiting in line! Called & made a reservation for sunday "brunch" asked specifically if gluten & dairy free could be accommodated and was told "yes, it would be a little different, but yes". When we got our menus there are only 2 brunch options and neither could be done gluten or dairy free. Yes the lunch menu has GF options, but we were there specifically for brunch at 11am... very disappointed. Would not recommend as a "brunch" option ad two out of the six of us could not have brunch. read more

Wow. All I can say is that if you have the chance to drop by this restaurant when you are in Hyannis or on cape cod do yourself a favor and go! Wy wife and I have eaten at joes many times during trips to the mall but this time we actually went with our 4 boys to celebrate our son Sam's birthday. Their food is excellent, fairly priced, and made with care. My sons had the meatloaf which they struggled to finish only because the portion size was larger than their very happy bellies could take, and what a presentation! I had the pecan chicken which I've had before and cannot get enough of. The sweet potato mashed are unbelievable. My wife had the pork tenderloin, it was cooked to perfection and she ate every bite, plus a salad! (And the amazing bread I cannot say enough about). Sam had the Southwestern Burger, which he ate every bit of and that's a huge burger! We are used to good food at joes, but tonight everything seemed that much better, and that was entirely because of the service we received. We've never received bad service at joes but tonight it was exemplary. Our waiter, Matt R. treated us like we were the only people in the restaurant (which was surprisingly NOT the case on a Tuesday night). Before the meal began we let him know that it was going to be a birthday get together and without skipping a beat he asked us if Joes could take care of the dessert for us, which they did, an amazing molten chocolate cake. My family ordered their drinks, and i was having trouble deciding on a beer. When he came back with my families drinks he also brought a taste of a beer he thought I might like. It was Blue Moon and I LOVED It! And more importantly, our glasses stayed full until the moment we left, even after we paid our bill he continued to fill our waters! We had an incredible meal and not once did we have to ask for anything. By the end of the meal, we felt like we were being served by a member of our family. My husband and I decided to try out NYAJ after they re-opened and were pretty disappointed. Our waitress was clueless and not attentive. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio (white wine) and she came back 10 minutes later telling me she wasn't sure if we had the red I wanted tonight. I explained to her I didn't order red I ordered Pinot Grigio and even opened the menu and pointed to the one I wanted. It took another 10-15 minutes for her to bring my glass of wine. The food took a while to come out and wasn't spectacular. I got the farmers market flatbread and it was pretty soggy. My husband got the mustard crusted chicken and he did not think it was the best even though he has had it several times before. Then the check comes and I noticed she charged me for 2 glasses is wine even though I only got one. Tracking her down to get it removed from our bill was a hassle and it took her another 10 minutes to remove it from our bill. The only times we saw our waitress was for our drinks, placing our orders, and the bill. She never came by to check on how everything was. Both me and my husband had stomach aches that night. Needless to say we won't be returning. Also the parking is a whole other story because it was almost impossible to find a parking spot because of their new location in the mall. read more

Not your average....NOT! Way below average. Friendly waitress, at first, changed her attitude the minute we found fault. The herb crusted haddock was ??? That was haddock?? The wait was ridiculous & when ask "the chef has to cut the fish"! Really? Perhaps the fish is frozen and he has to do something on the fly!! If it was going to be so long...why not "would you prefer something else?" The accompanied brussel sprouts were inedible only replaced by extremely soggy, limp, semi- warm green beans. The only good things ~ the bread and cheese/oil served before and the other waitress who was simpatico to our situation. Our waitress told us the order only took 20 minutes (an average time ). Well if that was only 20 minutes I want my other 35 minutes back. And speaking of back....I won't be!! read more

We have been eating regularly at the Hyannis NYAJ for he last twenty or so years, and have been largely satisfied, so we were happy to see that the restaurant has finally reopened after almost a year of being closed for renovations. But when we visited on 12/21 we were sorely disappointed: we liked the old setting better. On top of that, our meal was the worst we have ever had there, yet at the same time also the most expensive. I started with the clam chowder, which wasn't bad, but it had much too much potato and way too little soup. The clams were, as is usually the case, too tough to eat (they don't have to be so!). Then I had the holiday special of roast prime rib, which came as a huge slab of meat of the consistency of shoe leather. The accompanying potatoes had an unpleasant (to me) taste, and the so called creamed spinach wasn't particularly good, either (go to a Viennese or Indian restaurant to taste how delicious really creamed spinach can be!). The croutons in my wife's Caesar salad were too tough to chew, as was the cheese slab in the salad. Her haddock was over-cooked and flavorless. The key-lime pie dessert tasted good, though the crust was too tough Also on the plus side was the fact that the bread dip was as good as ever. So we will come back to see if the old favorites (jambalaya, meat loaf, ...) are still good, and if so all will be forgiven. read more

This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in the mall, although tonight I arrived with something simple and easy to make/eat in my head. My party and I were quickly sat down and pleasantly waited on by a personable waitress, we got the parmesan and oil dip with our bread which was good as normal, we ordered and I got the simple Mac and cheese and it came out of the kitchen remotely fast but when I had went to taste the Mac and cheese it had an surprisingly sweet flavor. The sweetness was not off-putting but after a couple bite I decided that was enough and started picking off the others plates, I will not refrain from coming here because of the one plate of sweet Mac and cheese because I would still like to enjoy something different next time. read more

The food is consistently good here and of very high quality. NYAJ's isn't your typical mall restaurant...everything is made fresh and the food is of exceptionally high quality. The bread is particularly good and I've never ordered something off the menu that I didn't like. The service is great and the management seems to really care about customer service. It used to be an Italian restaurant, so they have a very nice pizza oven which explains why the pizza and flatbread is so good. I recommend the BBQ chicken pizza or any of the specials. This is my favorite restaurant on Cape Cod and I always have a great time here! read more

for a chain restaurant that's attached to a mall, the food is surprisingly good. the menu is really unique, ie: more than just boneless wing and fajita platters. i had flank steak w/ roasted sweet potato fries. what stood out the most about this place is that the food actually tasted fresh. it was well prepared and seasoned and lacked the artificial pre-packed taste that most chain restaurants seem to have. read more

The three stars are more for the service than the food. The waitress my family and I had was fantastic, even though she was busy running around to all of the tables. We came in on a rainy day, so as expected, the restaurant and mall were crowded. The food was mediocre and almost displeasing--the burgers were bland and had a slightly sour taste while the fries were overcooked and too brown to eat. The only redeeming factor was the bread and parmesan/garlic dipping sauce. Maybe it was an off day, but this restaurant did not meet my expectations. read more
