This joints does a respectable bundt cake, whether you want an individual size one or one as big as my butt. Which is pretty big actually. I won't lie. maybe that pun was a bit too easy, bunt and butt. But I'm sticking with it. Anyway, I have always found their cakes to be moist and flavorful. It can be easy to dry out a nice cake but they seem to do a good job keeping that problem at bay. There are always interesting flavors to try. I am a sucker with anything lemon related in a bundt cake. Poppy seeds are optional. These do run a little bit spendy but I think that's just a consequence of them using good ingredients and taking time to do it right in the world that we live in today. Took my vehicle to get a oil change about a month ago. While waiting I decided to get a complimentary latte from the dispenser located in the waiting area. While there I noticed that they had little square cakes with little dollops of white frosting on top also complimentary, so I decided to try one. That little piece of cake was the moistest most delicious piece of cake that I have ever had. If I had been in the waiting room by myself I probably would have went back for seconds, maybe even thirds they were sooo good! I've only tried their bundtlets but they're very delicious and $5 is worth it for one of these little guys. My only complaint is that they don't use 100% natural ingredients. Also, when a flavor gets swapped out they don't mention it on their site and you end up finding out after the fact once you enter the store. The store itself is frilly decorated so they're big on parties and events. It also feels like they're pushing people to use cards instead of cash when paying. Our experience here was fantastic. I had Nothing Bundt Cakes once before in Southern California and enjoyed it, so I wanted to pass the yumminess on to my husband. That, and I had a BOGO free coupon. Hehehe. As soon as we walked in, we were promptly greeted by the two most welcoming employees. We were offered samples of their strawberries and cream bundt cake. The place is well decorated; it is very cute. The only difficult thing we came across was deciding which flavors we wanted as there were so many good ones to choose from! So a friend got me a white chocolate raspberry bundt cake for my birthday - while I was cutting the cake, she mentioned how she loves the cake but the frosting is stupid sweet (my friend has a bit of sweet tooth, so that was little alarming). Surely enough, when I tasted the frosting, it was "slap yo mama" sweet, yikes. The middle of this bundt cake was 3 cups (ok, I'm exaggerating, but seriously it was a pool) of frosting. Double yikes. The cake itself was moist and it tasted fresh, but for me, the cake (without any frosting) was still on the too sweet side. A cake store? Well sign me up. Several people in my family like these so I've had occasion to try several flavors over the last few years (from other locations, since this one opened not long ago.) I went to this location a few weeks ago and was just as pleased. The lemon is my favorite, but can't go wrong with chocolate either. The frosting is a light cream cheese frosting, which frankly I'm a sucker for. I like that the Bundtlet is a good choice, size-wise, if you want just a little dessert to share. I tell myself this and then act "surprised" when I "remember" my husband doesn't like cake much. Oops! Oh I guess that's more for me. Great location and nice clean, fresh storefront. The first time I heard about NBC was at work at least 8 months ago at work and had I've plenty of the bundtinis (personal size). I always ate the red velvet one (moist) because that's my favorite flavor for all cake related goods. I have tried other flavors but nothing compares to red velvet. The location where it was purchased was from the Tualatin store which happens to be their most popular store. I never made it to the store front but that didn't stop me from dreaming of it that one day there will be a location closer to me. A couple months ago, we were driving in Beaverton and I saw a sign for NBC. I nearly jumped out of my seat as I was surprised that my dream came true. There wasn't a sign of the exact opening but I believe it read a summer time frame. I've been going on Yelp every so often to see when the opening date was lo and be hold it had a grand opening the weekend of June 3rd. At that time, my birthday was approaching and I knew NBC would sweeten up my day. On June 12th, I opened up Yelp and decide to send a message to the owner asking how picking the flavors work. Literally the next day on June 13th, the owner responded and indicated I can pick any flavor I want. I was blown away by the quick response time. I went in yesterday (on my birthday) to pick some up around 2:40 and there was tons of people. The store front is very trendy, cute and full of fun (samples available). Cards/gifts are available for purchase. One of the cashiers greeted me while I was browsing the menu. After a few minutes I had made up my mind. I ended up getting an custom assortment (dozen for $18.75) which was 1 each of their 9 flavors: red velvet, chocolate chocolate chip, lemon, white chocolate raspberry, marble, carrot, white white chocolate, cinnamon swirl, pecan praline and 3 strawberry and cream (flavor of the month). In addition, I asked if they can add a little flag on each that reads Happy Birthday and she said yes. The flags are $.25 each but your first one is free. For 12 it's only $2.75 which it's not bad at all if you wanted to add an extra touch. When it came to paying my bill it should of came to $21.50 but instead of was only $18.75. I paid and thought to myself maybe the flags are free after all. So, I looked at the itemized receipt and the flags weren't rung up. I asked the cashier about it and she spaced. She rung me up for the flags separately and pointed out there would be 15 minute wait until my order was done. While waiting, I looked around the store and the owner was talking to other customers. She happen to come towards me so I introduced myself and that we had been communicating about the bundtinis. The owner was the sweetest, genuine, warmest and kind lady I ever met in the business world. The owner walked to the back to check on my order and few minutes later she came back out with my order. When I got home I wanted to peek inside so I did and little did I know my flags weren't in there. I purposely got them for my birthday. I was bummed but it was so late in the day I didn't want to go back and my guests were going to arrive any minute. As I recall, because I paid for the flags separately (not intentional) perhaps whomever made my order didn't see that receipt or the cashier forgot to point out I wanted flags. Either way there was a miscommunication on their end. I was too busy talking to the owner on my way out I didn't check (though the box was taped) so it wasn't easily accessible. **Lesson learned, if you are adding any additional decor to it ask that it is on the order before paying. NBC is conveniently located in Beaverton off of Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy. It's near Fred Meyers and The Olive Garden. NBC is closed on Sunday's, so if you need/want some for pick it up on Saturday. I will have to agree with one of the reviewers, there isn't a smell of bakery when you walk into the store. NBC offers a range of sizes of the bundt cakes from small to large (pick your size). Despite the miscommunication on the flags, I am still giving NBC a 5 star because I love their product. I know I can count on them for a tasty treat that will always sweeten up my day. The service was great but it was even more special meeting the owner in person. I enjoy putting a email/face together. I will be back for more. If you are in the area with a sweet tooth, NBC will fulfill it. read more
