Cakes are delicious. Never an issue. Last week my spouse and I placed an online order for pick up the next day. We arrived at the beginning of the pick up window. They still have a sign allowing only 8 customers in the store at once, so there was a line out the door. Not a problem, we waited. We went in and there was no identifying signs directing regular orders from pick up orders and there was no one but the single employee taking orders to ask. So we waited. Nearly 25 minutes. When we were 2nd in line a customer came in and stood to the side, bypassing and yelled to the employee that they were there for a pick up. At this point we were first in line and I spoke up and said we were also there for a pick up. She got our info first, but instead of going to get our order she went to the customer who had yelled and go her information. At this point I was frustrated for the first time but didn't say anything, still expecting we'd get our order first. But we didn't. We had to wait until the yelling customer was served and then another five minutes for our order. I asked, politely, about lines for pick up being different and the employee said no-they weren't but offered no apology or explanation. So I emailed the store about the issue-I received not one but two calls from Donna (store manager?) asking me to call back. I did not want anything from the store so did not intend to call back but she was persistent. I called back and she asked me if there was a problem because she wasn't aware of any problem. I asked if she received my email and reminded her that she called me about the issue. She proceeded to tell me there was no issue because she didn't think waiting was a problem. I asked why she called me then. She didn't know why apparently and hung up. read more

First things first, these cakes are amazing. I've ordered them three times, prior to this current time. This is the first time ordering at this location, and they were amazing. Not only was the cake phenomenal, but the staff were all incredibly kind and professional. I had my baby with me, carrying him in a car seat and they offered to carry my order out to my car for me. These are already made cakes, there's no reason to wait so long to be served - it should be in and out. If this slow service continues, I don't see many repeat customers. Delicious. The lines can be a little long but worth the wait, overall. We had 3 different cakes (confetti, raspberry white chocolate, and chocolate) and each of them was simply amazing. I didn't know what I was expecting since these mini cakes were brought home yesterday. I ate the chocolate one my mom brought home since she already ate more than half of the red velvet. Absolutely horrible and unprofessional! We put an order online two weeks prior, we came by the day of to pickup the cake for my daughters birthday, come to find out our cake wasn't ready. The lady behind the cash register would not admit that they overlooked our order and didn't make the Cake. I just left there and received the worst customer service from the manager Courtney. I found hair underneath the lid of my cupcake. I took the cupcake back in and discreetly told the cashier what I found. The cashier took the cupcake to the back and the manager came out and told me "In the future, we can't take anything back once it leaves the store". I was in complete shock!! My husband recently ordered a cake from her for my birthday. However, he made a mistake and called to re-order a new cake. After explaining the situation, the woman on the phone fixed my husband's mistake at no charge to us. Again, I stress that this was our mistake and not the store's. Came in today to pick up some cakes for Xmas. Of course they were busy and it was a lot of people. Some customers were upset and impatient due to the wait. I would like to say the staff and management apologized for the wait and gave out coupons for the next visit. I just want to say how professionally the staff handled the unruly crowd. What happened to understanding and patience around this time of the year?? To me the cakes were worth the wait. I've visited other places today that were just as busy and the staff was extremely rude and dismissive. The cakes are amazing!!! Price is fair. I will go back again. However, their management is poorly run. Ordered a cake two days ago for a 1pm pickup Christmas Eve. Walked in and there were over 50 people waiting. They were still taking orders and selling cakes. All the while some had been waiting two hours to pick up their pre ordered cakes. Many had ordered this morning and walked in and immediately got their cakes. The manager said they weren't coming out in order. They continued to ice cakes for sale instead of having all staff icing the pre orders. Only one person had the ability to refund those sick of waiting and that slowed down the process of getting your cakes. Finally got mine after an hour and a half. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! to the owner of this super classy, upscale cake and bakery shop in Chesapeake, Virginia!! I was last minute shopping for a birthday treat (something different) for my lovely sister and remembered all the good things I had heard about this cake shop while at the hair salon. I visited on Saturday and everything I heard was definitely true! The shop is very clean, nicely decorated with a variety of beautiful designer novelties. The sampled cake was the lemon flavor, which is one of approximately 10 flavors. It was absolutely delicious and the moistest cake I've had in a long time. I left with the 8" Lemon (Bundt) cake, (1) Classic Vanilla, (1) Lemon and (1) White Chocolate Raspberry "bundtlets". They were all delicious, light, moist and very flavorful!. They were also reasonably priced with quality ingredients. My family has been raving about these cakes all week and have ask me to order (2) for our Thanksgiving dinner.
