Back in town for JeepFest & our hotel's breakfast wasn't all that so when I mentioned to bestie…read morethat I would be hunting down a pastry while her and my godson were on their first beach cruise Saturday morning she asked me to wait so they could join me. I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.

Everything looked lovely, it was hard to decide on what to get. She had also just made some fresh pastries. I decided on some ube pendesal, and as I'm a sucker for tiramisu I also asked for that. She offered the fresh pendesal as well, which I couldn't say no to, so I got that as well. She was overall very nice. I saw the empanadas in the corner, and I know I'm already gonna have to come back to try more. She told me how to keep the pendesal fresh, and I thanked her and went to my car to try the breads. The fresh pandesal was amazing. Fluffy, light, warm, soft, a little sweet, just so good. The ube one was a little heavier, and had a halaya and cream cheese filling, which I just loved. It would've been better warm, but I was hungry and wanted to try things. I waited til I got home to try to tiramisu, and oh my god that is some of the best tiramisu I've had in the area. I tried one at the farmers market by an Italian lady, and I think this one is better. It has good ratios of everything. It's not drowning in coffee, the cream is nice and sweet, and it isn't too mushy. This will now be my go-to spot for tiramisu for sure. I can't wait to come back and try more!

After Sophia and I ate lunch at nearby GuangDong Taste, we had to stop by to see what items they had in stock. Let's see how the visit went. They hardly had any customers inside so it was quicky and easy. They greeted us once we walked in and we immediately looked at what they had available. Staff was busy in the back with a few behind the counter. Sounds like a normal day here which is great. I actually had a few choices but decided to order some turon, which is a crispy banana fritter. I had it at a restaurant years ago and actually enjoyed. I actually didn't eat it until later where it lost its crispiness after being warmed up, but nonetheless it was delicious. Just enough banana inside and not too sweet from the brown sugar. Exactly the right amount for evening dessert. Great staff and great vibes all around here every time we come by. I also tried the Hopia baboy (could use a bit more filling), mini ensaymada (nice and soft), baked polvoron (love!) and cheese roll (love!). The girls behind the register were also very friendly and helpful (thank you!). Wanted to try the pandesitas (I hope I'm remembering correctly) but you have to pre-order and it has to be 6 dozen (cry). Maybe next time.

Ordered the veggie slice and the marinara slice. When we got up to the register to pay she rang it up and said do you want anything else. Well I said do you have drinks available? You get to choose your tea. I absolutely love that. I got chamomile tea. But she should have asked if we would like something to drink or have a drink menu or something. There was just a disconnect with how this place works. And if it is your first time I'm clueless. The food was wonderful and they had plenty of ice water that you serve yourself. We were riding our bikes at the oceanfront so the nice cold water was great Pros and cons -Friendly staff, but not super informative -the food was wonderful, but not sure if that was the whole menu. -tea selection was good and my chamomile tea was wonderful, but I would have liked to have read a menu of what drinks were available. Needless to say we were starving and ready for some amazing meals. The overall food experiences was good, nothing unpleasant. I had the breaded chicken Alfredo which was ok. Nothing I'd drive all the way back to have. I also shared a appetizer of coconut shrimp with my sister and that was good. Again, nothing amazing but I was happy with what I had. Their pastries were amazing, those I'd come back for any time. I ordered the Limoncello, 2 rasberry limoncello, brownie cheesecake, salted caramel apple pies to go. All of them except the regular limoncello were gone the same night. Very happy with their desserts. The service was lack luster, I wasn't really pleased that they only brought out one pitcher of water and one small basket of bread for a table of 11. She barely came to the table and had to be asked for refills constantly. When I went up to ask for the pastries I wanted to pay for my meal and the pastries at the front but she made me wait and pay at the table, I was trying to get out of there sooner but that put me behind for my next engagement. The girls that worked the counter weren't meant just made you feel like you're inconveniencing them. Overall, I'd love to come back and try more of their pastries.
