Here's my initial 4 star review for this location but I've changed it to three here for this second page !:( ------------- I'm a fan of Nothing Bundt Cakes. Just look at my review for another location, I adore Nothing Bundt Cakes! This location was okay but I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. The cakes were as delicious as I remember. I brought my cousin here the other day. I asked her to be in my wedding party and I wanted her to have a taste. I bought an 8" and 12 bundtinis. It was somewhat busy when we came in but I've definitely seen the other location with a line out the door and still handle it pretty well. I guess what I'm saying is that I was put off by the customer service at the Costa Mesa location because I've always had friendly and warm customer service at other locations. I will give it another shot and update this review as I go. Maybe it was just an off day... Anyhow...... My favorites? Goodness, that's difficult. They're all delicious but you can't go wrong with Chocolate-Chocolate or Lemon if you want to get something special for someone. read more

This afternoon I decided to treat my twin daughters to Nothing Bundt Cakes at the store near our home. The sign on the door said the store was open, but the door was locked even though the lights were on and there was an employee inside. Unfortunately, the employee kept working and made us stand outside for a while. There were no other customers around. Eventually she opened the door and rudely inquired if we were to pick up. When I said no she slammed the door shut as she said then we are closed. I realize we are in difficult times, but there was no reason for her attitude and rude behavior. read more

Nothing Bundt YUMMINESS!!! Been to several different ones. They are all impeccable in flavor. Try the confetti cake. So so good!

I always loved their cakes, so rich and yummy. I came to pick up my free birthday bundlet. It was simple and easy. I chose the carrot cake. It was light, delicious and had the perfect amount of frosting. Some carrot cakes are really heavy, but this one was super yummy. And the sweetness was just right. I have had their chocolate cakes and they are amazing, too. They make great gifts, too. Once our property management bought bundt cakes for all of the tenents. It was so good. This is one of the few non Asian bakeries I would go to for my baked goods. Their sweetness is just right, not overpowering like many American style baked goods. My new go-to bakery!!! I got a card in the mail with an offer for a free small bundt cake. I tried the chocolate raspberry cake. It was good and moist with a light chocolate flavor, but I wouldn't say it was great. Not the kind of thing I would go out of my way to get on a regular basis. I might try out another one sometime and see what the other flavors are like. Maybe the red velvet. read more

I do love the concept here; cute bundt cakes. But with all these dessert places I have high expectations. And the red velvet bundt cake was not moist, or fluffy, or fresh or have that handmade taste. It reminded me of something I could just pick up at Albertson's. It was looked good but flavor wise was lacking in the frosting. Bundt cake is bigger than a cupcake and I would say you can share with a friend. While the cakes may be good, be very, very careful if you order over the phone. I was given the wrong cake, didn't discover it until I started to serve, and had to serve it at the gathering because I had nothing else. When I went back to complain, I was told too bad. It has happened twice to a relative. Don't order over the phone and double check everything they do. 1/19/18 The company responded to me quickly to ask for more details, but did not include contact information. I was finally able to send them what they wanted. It's been about 2 weeks since then, and there has been no further contact, action, or resolution. I am still looking to get a refund. read more

I came here during my work hours because I needed to get something for my fiance's birthday. She loves this place and so I wanted to get something special for her. Her favorite is the Red Velvet so I decided to get her a 10" for her cake and also a little bundt cake as well (I forgot what they called it). Overall, I thank them for their great customer service and efficiency. My cake was ready in less than 20 minutes. My cousin's friend's cousin recommended this place, so my cousin and I went to check it out. The reason why we decided to try it was because my cousin had a B1G1 Free Bundlet (single serving) coupon from Facebook. Upon entering the store, everything was very neat and cute (just like a bundt cake!). They had samples of RASPBERRY CHOCOLATE BUNDT CAKE (scrumptious white chocolate cake swirled with the finest raspberry puree. Fluffy, moist, and ever so good) on the side. It was beyond delicious!!! I grabbed another sample upon exiting the store (sorry!). It wasn't overly sweet like I thought it would be since it was combining both raspberry (a pretty sweet berry) and white chocolate which is extremely sweet on its own. What caught my eye (actually, it should be what caught my tongue palette) was the texture. It wasn't like a cake (fluffy), but it also wasn't dense like a brownie. It was sort of in the middle, like the perfect middle, like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears middle.... just right. I chose a RED VELVET BUNDT CAKE (this scarlet batter of velvety rich cocoa and buttermilk pays homage to its traditional Southern heritage. Every vibrant red cake dances with chocolate chips and is topped with our signature cream cheese frosting). which was one of the many popular ones. Overall, the RED VELVET was pretty good. They threw in a few chocolate chips to give it a nice, different touch. I wish it was a bit richer in flavor like the RASPBERRY WHITE CHOCOLATE one, but still good overall. Had the same texture, so you know they're consistent. Service was very nice. They were very patient and informed us which ones were popular - LEMON, WHITE CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY, RED VELVET, and CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHIP. Not happy. Great product and great presentation brings me back. But this Saturday I showed up at 9:45 (I thought the store opened at 9 am---actually it opened at 10 am). The problem is the lady opening the store saw me and ignored my knocking. I then called and no one answered. Not great customer service. A minimal amount of courtesy would have been appreciated. New favorite dessert place! My best friend recommended this place and I decided to drop in especially since I received a B1G1 free deal on facebook. The deal made the treat even sweeter! The only down side is that they do close early compared to other dessert locations, around 6pm. My cousin and I bought the red velvet and carrot flavored bundt cakes. I have to say, I never thought I would crave a carrot cake like dessert until now! The carrot cake was amazingly delicious. The only thing I would have preferred is a little bit less frosting, but other than that no complaints! The red velvet was equally delicious, but I definitely recommend the carrot bundt cake. The bundt cake was moist even after being refrigerated, which I highly recommend doing before enjoying it. They have different sizes, so if you want just a tiny bite they offer the bundtini. Yesterday was my first time at the Irvine location. The Bundt Cakes are pretty good as usual, but the service is pretty slow. The time it took from ordering the cake to walking out the door was 25 minutes. And there were only 2 customers in the entire store with 2-3 employees. Went in today to the Costa Mesa location to pick up mini-bundt cakes. I had a mask on before entering that I moved down for two seconds and put immediately back up. I was the only customer in the store. The cashier yelled at me and said you have to wear a mask (which I had on and she saw that I had on). Who needs to patronize places like these? I have been going to this location for years and have always been happy with my orders. I ordered an 8 inch undecorated flavor of the month cake (lemon raspberry) with drizzle frosting online to pick up today, August 17, 2021. I picked it up without looking at it but as I was carrying it out to the car it felt so light so I opened it up when I got to the car. It was half the size of their regular 8 inch cakes. So I took it back in and showed the employee. I had her take one of the 8 inch cakes from the display case and put it next to it and it was definitely a lot smaller but she wouldn't agree with me when it was so obvious, all she would say that it was the frosting that made it look small. She asked if I wanted to see a unfrosted lemon raspberry cake so I said yes and when she brought it out you could see it was definitely smaller. Then she said that those don't rise like the other cakes. That was hard to believe when they use the same ingredients for all their cakes. I asked to exchange it for one of the cakes from the display case and I'm hoping the new cake hasn't been in the case a few days and that it's fresh! When I was carrying it out to the car it was noticeably heavier. I just wished the employee would have been honest and said she was sorry and offered me another cake, without me having to ask. They should never give a customer a cake that's not up to standard! With all that being said, I'm pretty sure I will not purchase from that store again, especially the was I was treated and no apology. Update: I've been looking at other one star reviews, you should too before you patronize this store, and a lot of people have had many problems with this store and they also got a "Generation" response like I just did. I loving the cakes here. It's definitely one of my favorites as far as the cake/frosting combo goes. It's a pretty small store but they always have the cake your looking for. Delicious cakes! I can never get enough of Nothing Bundt Cakes and they are great for any occasion. I've had the Lemon, Carrot, Chocolate Chocolate Chip and the Red Velvet and they're all so moist and flavorful with just enough icing. If it's your first time visiting, go with the classic lemon cake and you won't be disappointed! Moving on to the location: On the plus side, I love how they have free samples out that you can try. It also seems pretty clean and they always have a nice selection of cakes along with seasonal decorations & gifts. However, I definitely agree with some of the other Yelpers regarding the service. I don't know why the employees are so bummed all the time! It seems like an awesome place to work. Luckily their attitudes don't stop me from stopping in for a Bundtlet or 2! Terrible customer service and the staff have horrible attitude problems.... This is on multiple visits and for placing an order over the phone. Asked to speak with the manager the last time I was there and it as not until after speaking with the "manager" the person I spoke with says "well actually, I'm not the manager, she's not here right now, but I can have her call you". Left my number for the manager, who is the owner, she did call but I missed it- I called her back and left a message but never heard anything back. This was over a month ago. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. I will drive out of my way next time to get a nothing bundt cake. It's a shame because the quality of the cakes here is still good, but I can't stand rude people and I won't support a rude owner either. read more

I had visited this morning to first find out that there was one elderly lady that was working in the front which she had made me wait for 10 minutes prior, because she was finishing a phone conversation. So since she was busy, my friend and I had noticed there were samples and when we decided to try we were given an unfriendly look like we were doing something wrong. Finally she was ready to take our order and really what broke the straw on the camel's back was when I had asked for two separate packages to be made since one was for myself and one was for someone else, she acted like she didn't hear me and put both items together. I spoke up to say I had asked those to be separate bags, she had the audacity to say, "Hunny, you better learn to communicate better - I can't read your mind." I love this place's products, however this is by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. read more

You must try the bundtlettes! Super cute bite sized portions of the bundt cakes that are moist and sweet. Plus because they small, you won't feel so guilty eating them. They also don't have as much icing/frosting as the large cakes. I've tried the cinnamon roll and red velvet with chocolate chip cakes and both were delicious! I had little to no faith that this place would be good. I mean I haven't had a bundt cake before that hasn't tasted as dry as like Newport Beach sand. But since we received a free bundtlet coup I showed up and picked out 3 different ones (couldn't be ghetto and just take the free one). I could not believe how good it was. The cake was super, super moist. This place is great and try all of the flavors. Lemon was great as was white chocolate raspberry. Will be visiting here often now. read more

The people working here are very friendly. It was my boyfriend's first visit, so they gave him the whole spiel. The samples here are always amazing. For whatever reason, the samples are always more moist than the actual bundt cakes are. I think this might be due to the reason that the samples are presumably baked on a flat sheet instead of in a bundt cake tin. My favorite flavor thus far is the lemon raspberry, but it's not available year-round. I forget what month they offer this flavor, but if they have it when you're there, I highly recommend it. I have tried the lemon, white chocolate raspberry, white chocolate blueberry, red velvet, and the chocolate. Of these flavors, my favorite is the white chocolate raspberry, which is available year-round. My least favorite is the chocolate; it is too rich and sweet for my taste. The great thing about this place is that they have so many flavors, so you're very likely to find one that you'll like. I still need to try all the other flavors. They sell bundtinis, which are bite-sized, by the dozen. The bundlets are $4.49 and is good for 2 people to share. The 8 inch bundt cakes are $21, and the 10 inch are $31. I usually get the 8 inch bundt cake, and it's enough to feed about 10-12 people. They also do decorations for any occasion that you need. Another slightly disappointing new place...Don't get me wrong: It's good, moist (that word sucks), and best of all, relatively inexpensive! Mrs. L and I just weren't completely convinced with what we hoped would be a tantalizing trifecta of beautiful bundts. Pros: Friendly people at the counter, moist (ew) cakes, better than a cupcake. Cons: Chocolate-chocolate chip was not chocolatey enough. You know how you eat a chocolate muffin and say to yourself, 'Self, I wish this were more chocolatey and less muffiny.' That's what the CC chip was. The carrot was too spicy in that take-it-easy-on-the-cinnamon-and-nutmeg kind of way. The lemon was spot on. And what was with the bait-and-switch? I had a sample of the lemon cake when we picked our bundts up and it was very light and delicious. The actual product seemed quite a bit more dense. No big deal - they were both delicious. Nothing Bundt Cakes is the new Sprinkles, at least in my book. Bundt cakes--who knew they could be so appealing, darling, and delectable? I first tried NBC's mini bundts catered at my office--I loved the bite sized red velvet cake morsel even though it was frosted with a slightly cheap tasting whipped topping. It's worth a trip to the bakery. When we visited, they had pumpkin spice cake samples on a large platter. The chocolate cake was clearly made of high quality, fresh ingredients. Each bite was light with a melt in your mouth quality. The frosting tasted fresh, made with real cream cheese and butter. I take away 1 star for brusque, rude service from an older woman that was uncalled for; she was venting her frustration from a brownout that had spread over a few blocks of 17th St. in Costa Mesa that afternoon. MMMM.. CAKE! I have a love affair with all sweets! Especially when it comes to NBC! I've tried multiple locations and everyone makes the cakes with love! Even though this location is such a hot mess trying to get in and out it is worth it! Instantly we were greeted (which I'm a stickler for no matter where I go) The friendly employee told me what the flavor of the month was and I decided to buy it since the flavor of the month cakes are usually delicious! I'm really not a fan of lemon anything but their lemon raspberry cake was BOMB! So fluffy and tangy but not overly tart or the lemon overpowering the raspberry. My all time favorite flavor was Strawberry, but you really can't go wrong with any of the flavors, because their ALL CRACK! No matter which location you go to and all of the employees are super friendly! Bottom line: You can't go wrong with Nothing Bundt Cake! A fat girls true happiness! ^_^ read more
