As a culinary school graduate, I am an avid cook and baker at home and have baked my shared of bundt cakes. I was not familiar with Nothing Bundt Cake when I saw it open in our town and did not realize that it was a chain store until I walked into it to see what they had. It had the basic white steril look and feel of a chain store that turns out "cookie cutter" products. The staff however as very pleasant and polite. Our town is in need of a great bakery, so I was excited to see what this place was all about. I picked out four small cakes to try (Red Velvet, Carrot, Lemon Raspberry, and Smores), all of which are some of my favorite flavors when it comes to baked goods. I have to say that I was not overly impressed. All four of the cakes were very dense and not moist as most cakes are, and they had no better taste than what one could make at home from a store-bought cake mix. Carrot cake is one of my absolute favorites, and a good standard carrot cake is moist with a true flavor of carrot and spices, this one however was dry and pretty much flavorless. While the cakes were moist less and lacked flavor, the worst part was actually the icing. I am a huge fan of a good cream cheese icing, but this icing is so sweet, it took drinking a full bottle of water to get through each cake, and it still felt like I was going to go into a diabetic shock. I'm sure there is a market for these styles of cakes, especially with kids due to how sweet the icing is, but if you prefer your bundt cake to be moist and not overly covered with a way too sweet icing, then this place is not for you. I'm glad I tried it, as I believe in giving new businesses a chance, but I will not be a repeat customer and will continue to bake my own cakes at home while I on my quest for a good local bakery. read more

My boyfriend got a birthday cake for me from Nothing Bundt Cakes this year and it was so good! Not only did they nail the birthday decorations for this cake, but the confetti bundt cake itself was so moist and worked perfectly with the cream cheese frosting. I had placed an order here earlier this summer but was unable to pick up due to some unexpected circumstances. They gave me a call after not picking up my order and, after telling the worker I was actually out of town and wouldn't be able to pick up, offered me credit instead - such an extremely kind gesture during a difficult time. I came here way too often and the fact that it is always 5-star service and quality prompted me to finally pen a review for this place because they truly deserve it. This is one of the locations which actually participate in the promotions as there are some stores in the bay area that opt out of it. Regardless of if I come in for a promotion to treat myself or wanted to get a birthday cake for someone else, the people are always so nice and accommodating. I never had an issue with cake availability, and when I actually go to enjoy the cake, it never fails to disappoint. Pro tip: make sure you keep the cake in an air-tight container if you want it to last longer in the fridge (about a week), otherwise leaving it elsewhere will result in the cake drying out in a few days. Great good Gluten Free Bundts! These are so delicious, buy them for a special occasion, or just because you need gluten free and they aren't stingy on flavor. There were many flavors to choose from. Server was very polite. The store was well lit and beautiful.

For our wedding reception this past weekend, we got a a tiered bundt cake and some Bundtinis as part of our dessert table. This was in addition to macarons (Colette Macaron) and boba (Gong Cha) as part of our dessert offerings. We really wanted the food at our reception to shine! We didn't want *just* cake at our reception. We knew we wanted a small cake for cutting and pictures, and some cupcakes for ease of grabbing things for guests. Traditional bakeries were charging such a high rate for anything "wedding" related, especially for tiered cakes. I was inspired to get Nothing Bundt Cake from a Reddit thread and it worked out well. We ended up with a tiered cake in the confetti flavor with a mix of Bundtinis in chocolate, red velvet, and white chocolate raspberry flavors. My personal favorite flavor is the white chocolate raspberry -- great balance of sweetness with a burst of fresh tartness from the berries. The ordering experience was really easy. I emailed the store and got a response in a timely manner. The manager, BK, had a couple of phone consultations with me. He was very thorough in explaining the different flavors of the cakes, the icing style options, how many we should order given the number of guests we were expecting and the other dessert options we were providing, and explained the delivery and set up process. He also provided a photo and detailed instructions to pass onto my coordinator so they would know how to set up the cake. Our event was an evening reception but BK made an exception to have it delivered outside of their standard delivery hours for just a small fee. Before finalizing my order I stopped by the Sunnyvale store to grab a dozen Bundtinis to sample some flavors. They don't have a traditional "cake tasting" process (such as you pay a tasting fee and apply that towards your final invoice cost) but you can just go in to grab some Bundtinis (mini cupcakes) or Bundlets (mini bundt cake) to taste whatever flavors you want. Note that you must buy the Bundtinis by the dozen however you can buy single Bundlets. Maddie at the store was super helpful! She went above and beyond explaining the flavors, which were seasonal, and which were gluten-free. She also showed me the different icing styles in person as well as the decoration samples I could buy. We ended up keeping things simple with the thin icing and had the florist add some flowers and we put our own personal cake topper on the top. However I will consider using their decorations when I order cakes for other events in the future (i.e. birthdays, special occasions, etc.). Our guests loved all the cakes! At the end of the night most of our dessert table was emptied out and we just had a fraction of the tiered cake leftover (I'm currently eating some as I write this review). read more

I love Bundt cakes, they are so delicious! I have had different flavors and all of them are amazing I fly delicious! Their red valves especially is so good! Parking is easy, they have a parking lot right in the front; walking in they greet you with a smile, and also what you would like. They have a great selection of large and small cakes along with cupcakes. I deducted a star because they only sell cupcakes by a dozen and not by half dozens as a lot of other places do. I was hoping to gift cupcakes to a couple so a dozen would have been an overkill and a call for diabetes. So I wish they would sell less than 12 cupcakes. A small yet delicious selection of mini and full sized Bundt cakes. I recommend the cakes highly if you like cream cheese frosted moist American style cakes. It's probably the best in its league. I wish the flavors had more depth past cakey, delicious, and cream cheesy. I would say the raspberry white chocolate(?) Bundt was my favorite. Overall, this bakery does one thing but does it well. I've also had their seasonal strawberries n creme flavor, and that one was amazing! I wish they had it year round. I do feel like the Bundtlets are a bit expensive at $5 each, so I really only go when I get a BOGO coupon in my email every few months, which I get from signing up for their eClub. Before the pandemic, they always had samples for tasting (this is characteristic of each Nothing Bundt Cakes location) and they wouldn't mind if I or my friends/family had a couple extra haha My favorite flavors are typically their seasonal ones like the blueberry or white chocolate raspberry but the marble and lemon are great choices if you prefer something on the less sweet end. I usually opt for the bundlets and share them with someone but the bunditinis are great for bigger gatherings. For my birthday I ordered the confetti princess cake in the 8". Even though I was turning 23, I couldn't resist because the decorations are so cute and it was more than enough cake for everyone. I can't recommend this place enough!
