    Eggs Benedict
    Mark H.

This is only a review for breakfast. And frankly, only for one dish. And yet still, for one chef ... I had breakfast at my hotel today and had the eggs Benedict. I do not expect much from a hotel breakfast, but this was included in my Titanium Benefit and I did not want to travel in the snow for breakfast. I had the entree, juice and coffee. I will not waste a lot of words on the Benedict, just look at the picture. It far exceeded my expectations. Cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Well done to the entire staff ... particularly the chef. Spectacular breakfast.

Pretty good for a hotel bar. Had the chicken nachos. They are expensive ($20) but huge! Tito's & soda $10. I would come back if I was staying at the hotel.

Located in the Renaissance Hotel & Spa at Patriot Place, I attended an industry function last night with about 150 people. First of all, the facility is just beautiful, with great style everywhere you look- the bar, the furniture, the look of the whole place is gorgeous. Patriot Place itself is also pretty nice, granted it was far less crowded yesterday than it is on a game day. The event I went to last night included passed hors d 'oeuvres and two food stations. The hors d'oeuvres included seasonal vegetables with Ranch and red pepper dip, Tenderloin with caramelized onions and horseradish cream, wontons with spicy tuna and a siracha aioli, bacon wrapped scallops, a tequila chicken with mango salsa served on a potato chip, and an apple goat cheese mousse with candied walnuts and phyllo dough. The food I tried was outstanding. I didn't sample everything, but the spicy tuna and tequila chicken earned high marks. As the evening progressed, two food stations opened up -a Macaroni and Cheese Bar and a "Cider Brined Chicken Breast Station". The mac and cheese station was a clever idea and you could have traditional mac and cheese or a version with shrimp and garlic. I didn't think the product was more than average. On the other hand, the cider brined chicken breast was the best food I had all night. Incredibly moist and juicy (how come the chicken I cook at home is never as good as this?) it was carved to order and served with an apple-cranberry glaze. The evening ended with platters of mini filled cupcakes. I had one and it was excellent. So in summary, the food was very good, the ambience was very good, the service was attentive and friendly. A very positive experience indeed.

    Pretty fabulous drinks!

This place is great so I'm a little thrown off by the 2 1/2 Star Rating... You walk into the elegant Renaissance Hotel and over to the restaurant where you'll be surrounded by funky modern decor. I'm not sure who was the interior decorator, but I want them to come decorate my house!! The chairs at the bar have zebra print backs with red leather seating, everything just comes together so well. This was my 3rd time eating at Twenty8 ...but one of the 3 times, I organized a company dinner here which was arranged in a private room for 10 people. Everyone agreed that the appetizers and dinner were amazing. The private room was cute and cozy and can seat up to 12 so its a nice place to host a private party. My most recent time here, I ordered the soup of the day as an appetizer which was a beef stew. When I was told it was made with Boston Lager, I knew I had to try it. Beer in my soup?? YES PLEASE! I am usually a homemade beef stew kind of girl, but this soup was great!! It did not have huge chunks of beef, but it was more like shredded beef throughout the soup. It was a heavy soup, therefore, I didn't finish the entire bowl so I could leave room for me meal. For my entree I ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon which was cooked perfectly. I forget which vegetables I got as a side but I wasn't a fan of either. Oh well, the salmon was enough for me. One big thing here is the liquor. If you are going to order a drink, you MUST ask for a top shelf bottle or else you are going to get the crap vodka, tequila or rum. Most places the server will normally ask what type of vodka you would like but sometimes this place forgets. ;)

We didn't really care for the food. The food presentation was very nice but the food was just ok. We tried to go to Tavolinos and it was packed inside and out at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Then we tried Twenty8 and there was quite a few seats open and the whole outside area with the fire stacks - had nobody out there. Should have been a dead give away. We would not go back.

Horrible service. Sat at the bar on 2 different occasions on the same day and received no service. Waited for 10 minutes each visit. Left.

Eggs Benedict with fatty ham. Cold home fries. Over 40.00 for breakfast with no alcohol. Horrible. Don't go, not worth it.

The ambiance is trendy and vibrant. They did a very nice job renovating the former Skip Jack's…read morerestaurant that was there. It was definitely bustling in there. We had a reservation that had to wait about 20 minutes on a Saturday night. The food was excellent. We got a steak and egg dish in a pasta with grilled salmon plus some appetizers. Everything came out perfectly. We also loved the sangria, which is made with some Remy Martin. It was a little pricey at $20 so after one we switched to wine ($14). The service was excellent.

Extremely disappointing experience, especially for a birthday dinner…read more I made and confirmed a reservation both online and by phone the day before, only to arrive and be told Estella was walk-in only. We were eventually seated at a dirty table that had to be cleaned. The manager, Solstice, was dismissive from the beginning and failed to communicate important information, including a dining time limit because of the show. We waited over two hours and never received my chicken pasta, despite asking multiple employees and being told it would take another 45 minutes. I ultimately paid for the check and left without my meal. The food was equally disappointing: * Calamari: 0/10 -- cold, mostly tentacles, missing cherry peppers/garnish, and we were told portions were reduced for the "game day menu" while regular prices were still being charged. * Lemon pepper wings: 2/10 -- over an hour, hard, missing pieces and barely seasoned. Katie thankfully corrected them. * Sweet & spicy wings: 1/10 -- undercooked and lacked flavor. * French fries: 8/10 -- honestly one of the better things we had. * We were also given what appeared to be used tartar sauce, which was extremely concerning. The cocktails were another miss. The Shoot for the Stars and Mango Mami were both extremely thick/syrupy and served in plastic cups for $18. The Tropical Margarita was good the first time and terrible the second. The bathroom was filthy, and hearing an employee openly complain about how nasty the women's bathroom was while cleaning it did not help. Eagan was the saving grace--he was pleasant and tried to help--and Katie immediately corrected the wing issue. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to overcome the overall experience. Solstice eventually said he would refund my bill, but I still haven't received the refund. We specifically chose Estella because my sister loves lamb chops and I wanted her to try them for her birthday. I canceled another reservation to come here. After this experience, I would never return and cannot recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

So we went here with a group of folks from our senior center for dinner for their special menu that…read moreis $20 from 2:30 to 4:30 there was a really great variety of approximately probably 12 different dishes between steak and pasta dishes, as well as fish and others. I had the 8 ounce sirloin which you could cut with the fork. It was cooked perfect and everything came out hot and fresh just like I wanted these otherwise I would've sent it right back cause I like my food to burn in my mouth. They also have for a couple dollars more you could get a filet mignon with special butter on top for $24. Everything came with a soup or a salad. It also came with a pasta or potatoes so starch and a vegetable or instead of the vegetable the day which was a carrot and green bean mix you could also get instead you get coleslaw. I got the coleslaw. It didn't really have a mayonnaise type dressing on it so that was a different kind of taste and it wasn't very cold so I kinda was concerned about that so I only had one bite. But the baked potato that I got was scolding hot. The butter melted right away in it, which is to me as a perfect potato came with sour cream. The steak like I said was tenders could be cooked exactly the way I like it you could cut it with a fork even though I had a steak knife. My partner had the veal Parmesan, which was a very large piece she can see from the pictures with he substituted Angel hair pasta for ziti. I think he should've stuck with a Z because Angel hair was just cooked too much. I was kind of soft like really soft like al dente. But the server was wonderful. She was very friendly. Kurdish came over as each person came in and offered to guess all drinks or a cocktail or something. She was just very involve which was wonderful. Then when it came time for dessert, we had a choice was great and not pudding or ice cream. We got ice cream with the choice of vanilla chocolate or Oreo cookie. I get vanilla the other half Oreo cookie. I did ask if we could get chocolate on it chocolate syrup there wasn't enough charge of a dollar for the hot fudge. It wasn't much so I just split it with my other half cause I didn't want to pay the app charged for two of us. I had a cocktail it was very very good. I don't remember it now, but it had like makers, mark bourbon and stuff and cherries. I didn't know how expensive it was until the bill came cause I didn't realize it wasn't priced on the menu but that's OK. I will learn and not get it again. I felt the bill was kind of high for what we had. We were gonna go out the next site to celebrate our anniversary, but with the price that we paid for dinner that first night on Tuesday we didn't really have enough in a bunch left to go out the next day. Our bill for this was $75 for the two of us. I know that's probably the average price now for going out to dinner, but I just thought that was a little high, but I didn't expect it to be really that much but we had a set price for dinner. But it's all brand new now. The insides all changed over. It's a little bit of dark wood, but I think like a cherry finish it kinda looks like they have a separate area completely from the bar to the restaurant. It isn't blocked off completely but it's made so you really have a separation there and we had gotten the function room in the back which seated with our party was 27. But I think you'll easily fit in 50 people in that back room. We've already decided when we go back. He wants to go back and try the burger but if we do that, we'll probably just get the one sandwich just to see if it's more reasonable period for us but it was wonderful. I really had a good time.

After being ignored for 25 minutes while later arrivals sat (us with reservations, them without) we…read morewere finally given a seat. The hostess said she called our name. Hard to believe since I was standing next to her the whole time and another couple had to point out that we were before them. We got sat at a table in the bar and served by Brian, one of the owners. Very nice guy, very accommodating. We were quickly served with water and warm rolls. The rolls were very good. Drinks were brought out very quickly, but waited over 30 minutes for our dinner. I ordered the salmon, which I often do. The entrée came with a choice of sides, so I chose the rice pilaf and the green beans. Everything was terrific. The salmon was big, the rice pilaf was quite good, and the beans were terrific. We will definitely be back. Hopefully they'll address their hostess position by then.
