Definitely was let down by it being Neapolitan style pizza but it lacked crispness, I even requested well done and it wasn't fully baked. Shame as it was my first experience with but when you ask for something well done you shouldn't have a soggy bread crust. I like the idea but comon you gotta execute. read more

Decided to have Thanksgiving Dinner brought in. We chose Novino and it was a great decision. We picked it up warm on Thanksgiving put on our buffet trays and served to our guests. Presentation was very good. Turkey nicely sliced in gravy, potatoes and stuffing in individual mounds. The food was delicious! They even did a special lasagna for my vegan members of the family. Thin Sicilian is great. I get it with light cheese. Eggplant meatballs are also very good. Delivery was prompt and food was hot.

First time there on opening week the pizza was a hit. Next two times, fresh ingredients but the end result wasn't great. Too much cheese and goo. Garlic nots were really dry with no sauce on the side. Picture of a 1/2 pepperoni pie. Good luck spotting the pepperoni. read more

Had an unbelievable meal delivered last night - first time ordering with them. Had a "big pizza slice" with mushrooms and onions. Great pizza and it was HUGE. Then I had the calamari app (always an iffy delivery choice) and it arrived crispy and delicious and also HUGE. More a family appetizer than individual. I also had the garlic shrimp appetizer, which was awesome as well. I always over-order so I can have a second meal, but this was so much food (and I can eat!). Really, really impressive food with care taken in prep for travel. I ordered directly from the restaurant, which I always prefer. read more

Best Margarita pie I've ever had! And let me tell you I've had a lot! My friend and I were there tonight - he said the mussels were SURPURB! We ordered a bottle of wine and what they don't tell you is that you get a nice cheese and fruit compote with every bottle ordered - nice surprise! Cheese was woodsy and the fruit compote was Devine. Love this place. Ate there with my girlfriend the other night. We had a gluten free cauliflower pizza to start (I'd of preferred their traditional pie but my girl is all about gluten free) anyway the sauce and ingredients were so good I almost didn't miss the bread crust. Then we had the mussels in a white wine butter sauce which is a must !!! Probably the best I've had to date. But again she wouldn't let me use the bread to dunk in the sauce so I had to spoon every last bit in my mouth. Had the Caesar salad in a nice Caesar vinaigrette which was lighter than a traditional creamy dressing. We also had the mixed roasted veggies which were out of control delicious. The waiter was a gentleman with a warm inviting personality and very professional. The owner came out to ask how we liked the house pour of Cabernet and we loved it. To my surprise it was a NJ vineyard which I could not believe. It was a little lighter in texture almost like a Pinot noir but it had all the right notes of fruit yet still dry enough with the perfect balance of tannins and acidity. Bravo for This NJ vineyard. But bigger accolades to the proprietors (husband & wife) for putting all of this together. Run now because it's going to be a hard place to get into in a short time. read more

What's Going On Here? A couple of weeks ago, my wife & I came here to find they had a $13.00 lunch special. My wife had the tossed salad & a margarita pizza. I had the pasta e fagioli soup & pasta bolognese. All were top notch. The pizza was delicious, the soup was one of the best I had ever had. It was loaded with beans & pasta. The pasta bolognese was perfect & the portion was so big I had three meals from it. Then we returned yesterday & it was if I came to a different restaurant completely. The salad was just "ok" & was with a less than fair dressing. The "past e fagioli" was actually mostly cut up carrots, very few beans & no pasta. The pasta bolognese was now off the menu completely. What happened here? Did the owner decide he wasn't making enough profit, so he cheapened the soup & removed a delicious dish from the lunch menu? If that is the way he is going to run a restaurant, I wish them luck. People don't like these types of changes & will go elsewhere for lunch. We've spoken to other friends of ours & they have said the same type things. Sorry you feel this way. You have a beautiful restaurant & you have good recipes, but don't know how to run a restaurant. read more

Average pizza in an area with many choices. Online menu way differently priced than the menu you get when you eat in, the eat in is priced way higher. The staff I encountered all act like they are doing you favor when you order, bizzare for such a nothing little place. read more

Old stale tasting pasta the only discernible flavor in my vodka sauce eggplant hero and my wife's baked ziti is salt. That's it no other flavors. And the spaghetti I ordered for my 2 year old I took away and made her something else. Novino sucks. read more

After seeing mixed reviews, I decided to try it out for myself. Ordered a large pie with sausage as take out tonight. And unfortunately have to agree with some of these negative reviews. Placing the order was fine, staff seemed friendly when I walked in. I went to pay, and thought it odd that the till couldn't break a $100, but it was somewhat early (5:40) so maybe just didn't have enough take out orders yet. The kid who rang me up questioned if he could even take the $100 to who I would assume was the owner? Older gentleman with gray hair. He looked up at me twice, with a stern look on his face as he counted out the money, if this was indeed the owner you could say hello and thanks for coming, but I digress, this review is on the food. The pie looked decent when you open the box, unfortunately it was pretty heavy on the cheese like one review said, which did make it chewy and had no flavor. The sausage was ok, it does have flavor unlike one review noted for me it could have used more sausage. The pies in the showcase looked like they had more meat on them, but the eyes do play tricks so it could be me. I did think the sauce lacked flavor though which is unfortunate I added some salt and garlic to boost the flavor, but it is a matter of preference. The dough itself was alright, nothing to write home about. With the other reviews noting that there are other restaurants within a mile or so I say for the price of a pie, it's pretty cheap, to give it a shot. Will this place make it?, only time will tell. I do wish it the best, and hope that the owner does listen to the critiques and changes a few things. The old adage is true if you build it they will come. But if the food isn't good they won't be back. I believe in giving 2nd shots, and will be back next year if it's still open, I think it will be. I would like to give this restaurant a zero for the following reason. I called on a Saturday to make a reservation for 7 on Sunday September 8. I was told by a very rude hostess that she could not accommodate me on Saturday. I explained that I would like a 4pm reservation for Sunday. She said it doesn't matter she still could not accommodate a party of 7 and that I should call on Tuesday or Wednesday and perhaps she would be able to accommodate us. I explained it was a birthday celebration for Sunday and her retort was it's a small restaurant and she can't accommodate us. So while the food and wait staff might be great I base this review on the rudeness of the hostess and the fact that the customer was not valued. I am sure this restaurant will not make it unless there is some serious customer service education and also perhaps a change of staff. So my rating of Novino is ZERO. read more

This place has phenomenal food and the most friendly staff!!! Prices were reasonable- 4 big eaters came away with a bill of less than $200. Ordered five apps, 4 pizzas, 1 lasagne and 3 desserts!! It's a BYOB so bring it!!! The calamari were PERFECTION and the lasagne was beyond delicious, by far my favorite thing on the menu - was sooooo big I took home half and had it for lunch the next day OMG divine is not the word!!! Oh....between you and me....make sure you order two of the chocolate stuffed calzones for dessert...you won't regret it...then order another to go - you'll be happy all the way to the scales lol!!!! I had high expectations that unfortunately came up a bit short. Our server was great and he tried hard. Part of the blame was my selections. Perhaps I should have stuck by more traditional fare but I tried some of the more intriguing selections. All in all, it's a nice family atmosphere. My family had two pasta dishes that were very authentic. My wife had the white pizza that was tasty. I ordered the Toscano pizza, which was drizzled with honey. We just got back home from our dinner at Novino and it was fantastic. My wife actually remarked "it's been a while since we've been to a restaurant where the food is really good?" She's right - there are so many people in our area that many restaurants just mail it in. Not here - everyone was friendly and helpful. And the food was great. I order the pasta primavera at many restaurants hoping that it is done right - most of the time you get leftover vegetables nearing the end of their shelf life thrown together with gummy pasta and some weird watered down marinara. Here they roast the veggies so they have a nice char - really brings out the flavor - that's the way to do it (with the garlic and oil). Short rib, eggplant stack, Parmesan sauce over gnocchi, personal pizza - all great. Whenever I go to an Italian restaurant I order meatballs to test them - and they were excellent too. We were recently traveling through Mahwah to Boston and looking for a small restaurant for a good meal. This was so perfect! The food was great from Caesar salad, calamari to chicken marsala. In town for work and decided to try the new place " only open a few weeks". First of all the place is spotless inside and freshly remodeled. I decided to try the lunch special which included Caesar salad to start then chicken parmigiana served on a bed of rigatoni. The price was 13.00 and In all honesty it could have fed two people. Everything tasted great with the only drawback being no free refill on the iced tea otherwise everything was great. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try and will be returning tonight for dinner. read more

Just had lunch at this lovely new restaurant today. We had a group of five and were greeted warmly and seated quickly. We started with a small margarita pizza that was delicious and was the perfect appetizer. Everyone at our table ordered something different and each dish was beautifully done. The fresh pasta was wonderful, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We had a little room left for dessert and tried the cannolis and Nutella calzones. Both heavenly! This place is off the hook delicious . We have only done takeout , order always ready and CORRECT when we get there . Pizza is so fresh , and there are quite a few choices . Crust is the perfect amount of crisp, but not over cooked . Generous with toppings ,but don't overload , so it all falls off .
