I don't do this a lot, but this place should not have as high a rating. From service to food to ambience it was pretty awful. We came with 2 adults and 2 kids. When we were sat it was without a good view of the river. We asked to sit below, as the place was pretty empty, but they said no. That ended up being a good thing as the guitar player they had playing music started playing downstairs and it was awful. It was like someone learning to play electric guitar for the first time just constantly grinding away with no rhythm. I am a musician so perhaps it was extra awful for me. I ordered a Mai tai which was about the only decent thing about the meal. Kids got pasta and fish and chips. Adults got ahi tartar, shrimp, clam chowder, and duck. I'm not sure how, but even the fish and chips was bland. The duck was ok, but very small portion and nothing special. The clam chowder was mostly just bacon and potato taste with little flavor. The ahi somehow just didn't have anything fresh tasting about it. The kids pasta was enormous, but was ok. The fish and chips was late and didn't come with the rest of the food. One of the places we like to frequent down in the harbor. The food is always delicious and the service amazing. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Live music on the weekends and a bar. Their menu is small but there are several delicious and flavorful options. They share parking so sometimes it can be a little hard to find parking. There's a beautiful view of the harbor. Eating outside if during the day is the best. If at night, make sure your bundled and by a warmer or try to get inside. Our server was nice. However, if you are looking for a good seafood dinner, we do not recommend. We had the shrimp fettuccine, the burger, coconut shrimp, shrimp & chips and crab cakes. The homemade pasta was a nice touch but other than that it wasn't that great. My father-in-law couldn't even finish the burger. The coconut shrimp were over cooked and so were the beer battered shrimp. My husband said it tasted like they were fried in old oil. The mint sauce on the crab cakes did nothing for them. This is my absolute favorite thing about Yelp. Finding some tucked out of the way fairly drab establishment with amazing food, beer and service. Do NOT turn around before you get here. You will swear you took a wrong turn. Drive down to the Noyo docks, through a heavy industrial area, then finally, through a trailer park. (I'm not kidding. It's actually behind a trailer park.) When you finally arrive, you will be met with great service and amazing food. I've NEVER seen breaded and deep fried scallops in my life. Why hasn't someone thought of this before??? My wife and all three of my kids loved everything we ordered: fish and chips, caesar salad, grilled salmon, Noyo burger and, as always, an order of chicken tenders. We sat outside even though there was a chill in the air and by the time we left, the entire outdoor area was completely filled with diners and drinkers, young and old. I complained about my burger and the waitress argued with me. She explained to me that I don't know what good burger meat tastes like. This meat was bought special from the local butcher. We were looking for a top notch steak dinner for our last night in Fortbragg and we were told this was the place to go and boy were they right! We reserved a table for 7pm arrived 10 min early and they seated us immediately. The views were stunning from just about every table as it's like stadium seating. We were seated in front of the huge bay windows and could see both the ocean and the bay. The ambience was lovely and they had a young man called Johnny playing and singing live and he was fabulous (we had to tip him because he was really excellent) we ordered a margarita and a lemon drop and settled in. This is the only part that I would deduct points for and that is service is veryyyyyyy slow so be prepared. We ordered the filet mignon and it came with season vegetables and mash potatoes. The steak gravy they paired with our meal was delicious and it was worth every penny. It cut like butter and melted in your mouth. We had the lemon cheesecake and chocolate mousse for dessert and let me tell you I would have ordered 2 more and took them home if I had of been able. 4 stars read more

I really wanted to give 5 stars, but I couldn't. While the entrees were the bomb, there were four things that cost stars. Kitchen and wait staffing-they were obviously short on people. Everything was a long wait. After dinner we ordered 2 deserts to go and waited a half hour! We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer and received 4 shrimp for 12 bucks, which is half of what we get other places for $8-10. I picked this place because they had cooked oysters on the half shell. Only they weren't cooked long enough. The bottoms were uncooked and slimy. They were also lukewarm and not prepared very well as they only had a drop of bbq sauce on them. Finally they were the tiniest oysters I have ever received. The restaurant is along the river next to the ocean. Seating is outdoors only and the breeze is chilly. The staff didn't make sure all the outdoor heaters were gassed and working before the dinner crowd showed up. Couple that with the long wait times and the experience was painfully chilling even with jackets on. read more
