I am usually very open-minded about restaurants and try not to give them a bad rating unless they absolutely deserve it. Well, this place deserves it. I ordered 2 items -- hot and sour soup and chicken chow mein. Two items that couldn't be simpler to prepare. Yet, Great Wok managed to screw that up. Seriously, this is truly some of the worst food I've ever eaten - and that covers all foods that are non-Chinese! There is absolutely no taste and it appears that they forgot to salt the hot and sour soup. I mean, they really forgot because it tasted watered down. It didn't LOOK watered down. in fact, it looked quite appealing. But one taste was all it took to convince me that they failed to make the soup correctly. The chow mein -- again, no taste. The noodles were anemic and the veggie presence was sparse. No rich sauce, just noodles, chunks of chicken odds and ends (little to no white meat), and very few veggies. Either they're targeting a group of people that doesn't like spicy food (note, spicy does not necessarily equal hot - it means rich in spices and flavor), or they're being cheap with the spices. Because I couldn't notably detect one spice. Overall, this is barely passable for Chinese food. It reminds me of the Chinese food one finds at the food court in shopping malls. I personally don't trust the locals on their ratings of Chinese food here in Burbank. Sadly, they just don't seem to know good Chinese. No offense folks, but if you rated this place high, you live a sheltered life (or you love bland Chinese food). read more

I walked in, asked to review the menu, then asked to be seated at a window table, and was denied that table because of some lame excuse stating that the table was "wet." In my head, this should not be a big to-do. Dry off the table top and give the customer a sense of hospitality. But, that wasn't the case. Meanwhile, there were 2 tables that were being occupied on either side of the restaurant; so it was very quiet moment...(To deny a customer a requested table should never be an issue, unless it is reserved). But what I experienced was total disrespect by seating me at a corner table that I didn't request and then denying me an available window table. Now, I won't say the food is 5 stars because I am sure that there are Chinese restaurants with higher prices that beat the food from here. But, for the price and service, this food is amazing! My girlfriend and I have been coming here for 2 years and the food is always consistently delicious along with the service. For $30, including tip and tax, we always get 2 small hot and sour soups, 2 egg rolls, 2 lemonades, a bowl of rice, a full plate of orange chicken, and a full plate of beef brocoli! We always have so much left over that we take it home and save it for later. I highly reccomend coming here, you won't be dissappointed! read more

Worst customer service. The man that took our order, made a mistake and ordered the wrong soup. When we got there and let them know we didn't order that soup, instead of apologizing, he yelled at us and took no responsibility. He told us "next time don't call in your order" and stormed off. The service was friendly and obliging and the food was good for a reasonable price. I had the appetizer sampler plate, which consisted of a spare rib, a cream cheese wonton, beef satay, a fried shrimp, and egg roll, and paper wrapped chicken. I thought it was all good, including the paper wrapped chicken, which I normally don't care for. The egg roll tasted very fresh, and the cabbage tasted fresh, not like it was cooked to death like in some egg rolls. I also sampled the spicy honey shrimp, which tasted very good and was not overpowerngly spicy. This replaces Gourmet 88 as my Chinese delivery of choice. read more

My car was going to take longer than I thought at the mechanics so we decided to scout the area around Victory and Olive and saw this little place. From the outside you cant tell if its actually an empty office and you would expect the place to be dingy. They really need to make the edifice reflect the quality of the food. Inside though it is clean and comfortable and the food is really quite good. The Szechuan Shredded Pork is moist, tender and flavorful and the Orange Shrimp is slightly hot with a thin and light layer of crisp around the outside. Ill have to keep this place on my list when Im in the area. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside... just another Chinese restaurant in a strip mall... but inside the food is very good and served at a tremendous value. I came here for lunch and had a great experience. Once you walk in, if you thought the outside wasn't all that much, the inside won't impress you at all. But for lunch, if you dine in, your meal comes with Fried Wonton Skins with a sweet chili and hot mustard sauce, egg drop soup and an entree for around $6-$8 dollars.... not bad at all. The fried wonton skins are addictive! The drops of hot mustard in the sweet chili sauce are very nice with a good amount of heat. The Egg Drop Soup was a surprise. I was ready to grab some soy sauce but after a bite, I realized it didn't need anything. Might be the best soup I've had included with a meal. For my entree I had the Szechuan Beef, which was also surprisingly good. The meat was tender and very flavorful. While the food isn't mind-blowing it is a much better option than Panda! read more

I give them a 3 for their food, but the waitress and host were so nice and helpful, they perhaps deserve a 4 star rating. The tofu home style (brown sauce) was quite good, and they offered to add any vegetable to it that we wanted, so we added broccoli. Sadly, the orange chicken had a subpar sauce, too much like like sweet-and-sour sauce, and lacking the sharp, orangish tang a good orange chicken should have! My family has been coming to Great Wok for many years, since my grandmother first brought us here. The prices are cheap, the service is fast, and the food is good enough (if you're looking for the Americanized Chinese food - rice toppings, orange chicken, kung pao, fortune cookies - that kind of stuff..) The beef with broccoli never fails here, a typical dish in almost any Chinese (authentic or Americanized) restaurant but it's very tasty, even compared to fine dining/gourmet standards. The crispy, free wanton appetizers and the free fortune cookies are really nice surprises to any customer. read more

The delivery is lightening fast and never takes more than 15 minutes to get to my door, the food is always hot and freshly cooked. Great Wok was a great experience. I had a little bit of a "custom" order (chicken broccoli in a mild garlic sauce) and it ended up tasting great! Thoroughly impressed with food and service. I don't post reviews on anything, but I have to for this situation. I've come here many times and the service and the food are excellent. I just happened to be in the restaurant when 'Xenia S.' was there and threatened to write a bad review for her time there. First off, her tone and attitude toward the waitress was uncalled for. She treated the waitress with no respect. She was crass and rude to the waitress demanding that she is the customer so she deserves to have whatever she wants. As far as I'm concerned, when the waitress served her, it was a packed restaurant. If other parties are seated after you and they are ready to order, you only have yourself to blame for taking all the time in the world to take your order. The world moves on without you. Stop being egocentric and reflect on yourself before you criticize others. read more

We usually do takeout. This is our fave here in Burbank. They're fast, the food is fresh, and delicious. Their egg rolls can't be beat - yummy, NOT greasy, just the right amount of crisp. We also love the sauteed string beans. Service is top notch whether ordering takeout, eating in, or having it delivered. You can't beat their prices and the amount of food that you get for them. The food was not very good for the price. Honestly it was probably one of the worst Chinese food experiences I've had in Los Angeles 8 years ago. You can tell their ingredients are extremely cheap and all our dishes were mediocre at best. It also was very expensive.
