The onE thing I always get here is the kimbap. It's the best! And they give you two layers of it. It's a bit expensive $10.99 but it's worth it. And you get so full from it! It has avocado in it which makes it really rich and filling. The cup bop is my second favorite item. It's small but I like the cold lettuce in contrast to the warm rice and beef underneath. This was my first time having Korean BBQ. We parked is in the back of the building and there's an entrance there too. Ahhh it was ok. I didn't know what to expect but it was ok. The white rice didn't have any flavor, I ended up asking for a side of brown rice and it actually had some taste to it. My friend stated he has had better. I decided to give this place a try because I was craving noodles. Although flavor wise I enjoyed the Japche . I was extremely disappointed with prices and portion. Let me start by saying the pic I posted was my order. I got the Japche which was supposed to come with rice, soup and salad. I got a small spinach salad in the order and a side of rice but no soup ( I did get to dumplings) which I assumed replaced the soup. The order I got was almost $12 but on menu said $9.99 . Also my order was supposed to have beef Bulgogi which there was none and the portion was very small for the price. I eat Korean food all the time and that was probably the smallest order I've ever gotten I usually pay $12 for a full order at a restaurant . It was equivalent to maybe a pint size cup. I am new to Jersey and had a craving for Korean. Unfortunately there isn't more than a couple of Korean Restaurants near by within a 3 mile driving radius. However, I did I find this gem of a restaurant through Yelp, but I have to admit I was nervous going in because the outside was unassuming and it looked like a dive. Yolo and you never know until you try! As soon as we walked in, I thought I was in the kitchen of my Korean gf's house. It definitely appeared to be a family run business with mom and dad cooking!!!! I had an instant feeling that the food would be cooked with love and have a home cooked feel, quality over quantity, I wasn't disappointed, the seafood pancake had to be one of the best I've ever had!!! It was filled with seafood and NOT BATTER like most large commercially run restaurants. The icy cold noodles was perfect for the hot weather, the free salad was a nice extra touch, home made kimchi, along with their tofu stew and kalbi was spot on! I will definitely come back for their pancakes and to try some of the other options. What I learned was that good food is not guaranteed just b/c the restaurant looks fancy, has expensive decor and charges you an arm and a leg! read more

Nice little spot that serves American lunch favorites like burgers, hotdogs, Philly cheese steaks, etc, and also Korean lunches like bimbimbap, tofu soup, bulgogi, jap chae, etc. They also have different flavors of Bubble Tea, which were tasty. We enjoyed everything we ate here. Most of the menu items were less than $10, and was served quickly. We had the Cup-bop: kimchi fried rice with bulgogi served with lettuce, tomato, a fried egg on top, and sauce that kind of reminded me a little of tziki sauce. This was really good! I love kimchi fried rice and fried egg, but it was a nice surprise to taste the sauce with it all. This was the best thing we ate here today. We also ordered Bulgogi: sliced beef with assorted veggies, marinated with house soy sauce and Stir Fried Squid with assorted veggies in a house spicy sauce. We liked the Stir Fried Squid; I liked the chewy texture of it, and enjoyed the sauce quite a bit. The Bulgogi was ok; we thought it was a little dry. Perhaps next time they should not cook it as long. We also ordered the Honeydew and Lychee bubble tea. Both were good, but we thought the Honeydew was the best one. We ordered a kids' meal, hotdog and fries, for our 7yr old. The service was excellent, in fact this is why I gave them 4 stars. When we arrived, there was a customer who was trying to argue why her bill was the price it was. The gentleman behind the counter was respectful and explained to her the price breakdown of all their items, which clearly justified her bill. She was persistent and continued to insinuate that they had overcharged her, but clearly, she just couldn't add numbers properly (I added them up myself because I overheard their conversation. The cashier was correct.) The gentleman behind the counter remained calm, respectful, but firm. Sometimes people try to get something for nothing, but clearly the staff is honest and hard working and also have to earn a living. I thought they handled her appropriately. Good job! I also like to check the bathrooms because it s a reflection of how clean the kitchen is. Bathroom was neat and tidy. We will return, and next time, I will order 2 Cup-bops for myself! read more

We ended up here when Roosterspin told us they were full with reservations and literally weren't seating anyone. Okay then. We hadn't been here before and it's very unassuming. We grabbed menus and placed our order. We got vegetable dumplings, jap-chae and spicy pork. The food came out quickly and the portions were substantial. Not only that, but it was really good. Before I posted my tip "Check In Offer Was Not accepted," I questioned how "cold" it would look. Should I toss in an exclamation point? Or would that look like I'm angry and yelling? I decided to leave it as is...and man, I feel like a dick! However, I had to get what I wanted To Go and I will never get Korean food To Go. The burger tasted interesting...left a weird taste in my mouth...or that could have been the experience in itself. The sweet potato fries was a very small portion. My sister got crinkle cut fries and hated them, said they tasted like paper. Her portion weighed more than the car though. I ordered bubbletea, never got it. Didn't bother me because I didn't get charged for it. The menu is huge and I suggest you call ahead...Dine In or Take Out...wait time might be awhile. It was dead when I went at 7 PM, but I can only assume this place is filled during lunch hours. If it's not, I wouldn't be surprised...it's Westfield...this is Korean. There's another Korean spot by the train station which is super expensive looking so I'm sure Korean enthusiasts looking to cater to their wallet and stomach will traverse to this one. I ordered the Bulgogi, which is a standard korean dish. Unfortunately, it was the worst bulgogi I ever had. It was dry, and lacked the marinated flavor. The food was okay but over an hour wait for three entrees & one appetizer is just insane -- the seafood pancake arrived last which puzzled us. Thought about cancelling it since we were almost done with our entrees. Earlier (about 40mins into waiting) my wife asked one of the workers cleaning up a table about food wait time and he simply replied that they're busy on the weekends with lots of online/phone orders. Not one person in the restaurant came over to our table to explain the situation, asked us to be patience. Not one. None. "0". But the restaurant has a min 15% service charge baked into dine-ins!? All in all, it took us close to 2hrs to finish dining. 2hr on a casual dinning spot? Would I go back!? Never say never, but I don't believe I will. I've been watching Mukbang videos of people eating korean rice cakes with cheese and was really craving some so I came to yelp to search for a korean restaurant. Found this place and thought I'd give it a try since it's only 15 mins away from us. I wanted to like this place I really did... too bad the rice cake was a let down. There were pieces of it was just simply inedible (hard as rock), and the sauce was WAYYYY too sweet. I coulnd't finish the dish due to the insane amounts of sugar in it. If you want Korean, this is the place - I always go for the bibimbap, it's especially tasty in the hot stone bowl! Ask for the gochujang hot sauce, and get a frozen bubble tea to cool down.
