We went to NY Pie based on the reviews. I am a NY pizza snob and very critical of Nashville pizza. My favorites are Mannys (just closed shop) 5 Points and Two Boots. NY Pie tops them all. This is authentic and my new go to spot for pizza. Crunchy crust, tasty sauce and gooey cheese make this a delicious pie. What I also like is the oil dripping off the slice. My husband got to talking with someone who raved about this place, so we decided to check it out. I also did a bit of research on their website to make sure this guy was on the right track, and from what I read this place seemed legit for NY style pizza. Right when you walk in you'll notice the guys spinning and hand tossing dough, with the brick oven in full view. While they had some pizzas by the slice there, I think your best bet is ordering a fresh pie. We ordered at the counter and sat on the patio. I LOVE patio seating. It instantly puts me in a good mood. We were told the garlic knots are the bees knees, but opted for a healthier alternative and had a pre pie antipasta salad. It was amazing and hearty! The creamy basil and oregano vinaigrette was killer. It's been a while since I enjoyed a salad out. Our pie did not disappoint! Crispy, thin and airy. The dough is true to the style you'd find in NY. In spite of this, it still was not neck and neck with what we've had in NY. While this may be one of the best pizza places in Nashville, I can't say it's just like the pizza in NY. read more

Very solid pizza place which delivers to their name sake. I tried the Sicilian pie which absolutely met the standards of a classic thick crust pizza of Thai style. This is my go-to pizza place in Nashville. They always have the pizza ready on time. The pizzas are just the right mixture of crunchy and gooey. I especially like the Greek pizza from NY Pie. The best part about this pizza shop to me is its consistency. I've tried other places like Michelangelo's and Desano which are hit or miss, one day you'll get a good pizza, the other day it's a soggy mess. At NY Pie you always get the same delicious pizza, freshly made. The people here are helpful and the service is fast. Ordering over the phone is easy. OMG. I found a Pizzeria that's better than my Jamaica Ave Pizzeria. This is our 2nd time here. We ordered the plain pizza with half with ricotta. The crust is thin & flavorful. Being from Central New York, we've been searching the middle TN area for pizza that reminds us of our old stomping grounds. Well, we finally found it after 7 (!!) years here! A day trip to Nashville and a turn down a road we never hit before and when it came time for lunch, we did a quick search and this place was literally across the parking lot from us. Little known fact at lunch time you can get chicken or sausage rolls even though they aren't on the menu, you just have to ask. I drive from the opposite side of town to eat pizza here. That means I pass by pizza perfect and Chicago pizza and 312 pizza to get a good slice. I would suggest this place to anyone looking for great pizza in Nashville. OMG...I found the best Pizza on the West End.. Tony and I went here a few weeks ago, but they didn't serve beer so he wanted to go somewhere else...but the pizza looked so delicious..they serve whole or by the slice. So when I went Christmas shopping at the West Meade Shopping Center, I said..I am going to go get some of that awesome pizza and take it home for dinner. So after shopping, I called Tony and said...don't eat anything I am bringing home some NY PIE pizza and beer...will be there soon, I will call when I am closer so you can heat up the oven to 425 I went into the eatery and was greeted immediately. I explained that it was my first time and asked them for any specials or recommendations. They were very friendly and helpful. She handed me a menu and while I looked it over, several other employees started telling me their favorites. We discussed the sizes and toppings I went for the NY SPECIAL size medium...with extra sauce and a soda while I wait...taxes and tip it was only $23...not bad!!! I sat down and started checking my cell phone and taking a few pictures..they called my name and my food was ready...only about 15 minutes of waiting..Not bad at all. I took my pizza and called Tony to tell him I was on my way. So, he heated up the oven. So, when I arrived home, I popped it for a few minutes to heat it back up and awwwwww......I heard the angels sing and the birds chirp...this was so darn delicious...we both looked at each other and said..."AWESOME PIZZA" at the same time..we can't wait to go here again.. After dinner, I called them to let them know how Awesome the pizza was and how pleased I was with the food and service. GREAT Deal...GREAT Food...and definitely will do this again, and again !!!! My favorite thing about this place is the people. I've only been here twice, and it was months between each time, but the thing that struck me both times was the super friendly staff. They made me feel very welcome and were super easy and fun to conversate with! And now to the food. The first time I came I ordered a small calzone. And let me tell you, that thing was about as small as a football. Haha, but really, it's like half a pizza folded over. So you should either share or prepare for leftovers. I got mine with sausage, jalapeño, onion, and of course cheese. It was baked to golden perfection and was delicious. The second time, I got a slice of white pizza, which I really enjoyed because of my love for ricotta. And I tried my friend's garlic knots, which were doughy goodness. This place was disappointing. New York style pizza is my favorite and theirs was not good. I ordered online and picked up at the restaurant. Even my out of town guest from New Jersey didn't like the pizza and said it was nothing like they get up there. It was sloppy in the middle and burnt on the crust. I only wish I had opened the box and looked at the pizza before leaving because I would have had them make another. It was really unacceptable. The staff was friendly and it looked nice inside but the employee smoking out front was another turn off. read more

Wow - so glad I found this place. Their pizza is consistently good. They have great lunch specials too! Love the fact that you can buy pizza by the slice or whole pie. Their dough is fantastic and so is their pizza sauce. Slices truly reflect NYC. I'm a fan of their Peperoni sliced pizza and I recently tried their Sicilian. The Sicilian has a lot more dough, but it's really delicious as well! Customer service is always great and it's fun watching them make pizzas while you eat! read more

This is one of our favorite pizza places in all our travels. The pizza is DELICIOUS. The workers are always happy and friendly- going beyond the required communication to really connect and bond with customers.
