Okay, let it be said that I haven't the faintest idea what a New York pizza is. Therefore, I don't know if this is the authentic article. But, what I do know is that this is the closest thing I have had to my favorite pizza style at home in Australia. It's the best pizza I have had in the US during the past four years. They have thinnish, but crispy, crusts. There was a huge amount of topping and it was cooked to perfection. Usually in the US I am provided with pizza which has a single, sparse topping. Today's effort was 'NY Meat'. And it was really meaty. Add to that a generous measure of cheese and tomato paste and I was in heaven. One day I will get to New York to see if it is authentic...but, guess what; I couldn't give a s**t. I reiterate, this was the best pizza I have had in the US, better than the west coast, the mid west and the east coast, anywhere between the Keys and Washington. It more than made up for the disappointment I suffered at finding out that World Foods had run out of Vegemite. read more

Pizza by the slice is a rarity in Nashville, though it's getting more common. NY Pie is the genuine article. Lots of interesting choices ready to sample as slices, but the real winner is letting them make you a pie to order. Cheap? No. Worth it? Absolutely. We ordered an enormous 18" NY Meat specialty pizza with mushrooms and onions, and it was perfection. Crispy edges. Soft, foldable slices. Laden with quality toppings. The sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Cheese ratio was perfect. Value wise, it was solid: the pie we ordered was $25, but it was eight big slices, enough for four people. Cheaper than buying individual slices, and fresh out of the oven. The service was fantastic-- quick, attentive and personable. N. and I were there for a working lunch that dragged on for a few hours, and they made us feel entirely welcome. Speedy wifi is a big bonus too. Also: excellent music. I am a native Nashvillian, but I've been to NYC, and this is hands down the best representation of the real deal you can get here in Music City. I fully recommend NY Pie. Pros - Pizzas are huge (very southern of them) and toppings are fresh - They are not stingy with the toppings - Location is great (next to central hub of Bellevue...a target, Costco and a park- all of them in walking distance of the restaurant) - great customer service - they support our armed forces and vets (military discount) - You will never get served a bad pie here - they offer pizza dough you can take home and bake yourself! We drove from Lebanon to NY Pie on a Friday because of the reviews. We ordered a 14 inch white pizza with chicken. As a connoisseur of white pizza I was excited. The pizza actually had too much ricotta and not enough of the other toppings. Ricotta cools quickly so the pizza was cold by mid-meal. I also found gristle on the chicken, which was very disappointing. The toppings did not reach the edge of the pizza. In fact, there was over an inch and a half of crust. The crust itself was average. I base a good crust on whether I eat all of it or leave the ends. In this case I left the ends. The setting: it's just a mall location so it has a generic environment that's too tight for anyone besides a size 3. The employees: everyone was quick to help or take our order, or clean. We would have been just as happy with something local. I don't see how this place ranks #2 in Nashville on some websites. Don't believe the hype. read more

Well, it's not NY Pie. It was too thick, but it wasn't bad pizza. I just feel like it's incorrectly named. It should be named TN Pie because it aligns with most pies that I've had here. Thick, doughy, cheesy, lots of toppings, etc. Sound familiar? NY Pie exists right where it should. The establishment is family-friendly and so is their pies. I would recommend either sitting on the patio or bringing your pie home to watch a movie. The inside of the restaurant is a little cramped, but not too bad. Again, NY Pie is A-OK for what it is. My daughter and I went to the new NY Pie in Franklin. it happened to be a soft opening so we were ready for some issues but we were told the pizza was worth it. First of all, there were no issues and the place was packed. Jessica the owner even took time to stop and talk to us. Quality!! Secondly, the pizza was absolutely amazing. This is my all time favorite pizza in Tennessee. I'm part Italian, from Metro NYC and spoiled as can be. I've spent time on tour in Europe and nothing compared to Italy when it comes to pizza. This pizza measures up. The only suggestion I have fir them is to deliver to their biggest and loyal customers! I know I know, they don't need to deliver because their ovens are always full to capacity with walk ins!! Quite a delicious Pizza experience! I've never had "Real" NY Pizza, so I can't speak to its authenticity, but it was quite good to be sure. This place, however, is HOPPING busy. Clearly a lot of people are enjoying it. Also, the waiter service is not exactly "Full" service. Basically you order at the register, and they call your name. In our case the cashier did bring us our Pizza, but we had to get our own drinks and plate. While this isn't exactly a mark against them, it could make your first time slightly awkward. Pretty dang tasty stuff. Good, floury, thin crust pizza. Very clean place with pizza by the slice or whole pie. I'd love to try all their pies, and I might someday. The pizza maker made a great 10 foot dough toss/spin, too. They flour their dough on the marble, wood, and by hand. It's good stuff. The thin crust "Grandmother's" pizza is basically a cheese pizza, but is significantly better. Really nice people here. Employees seem genuinely happy to be here. I saw the owner give a group of well behaved kids a big old cookie at the end of their meal. There was a line at the register and they gave me my pizza to eat and just said to come back and pay when it died down. All in all, best place for pizza in Nashville(?), don't know, you decide, but at least toss this one in the mix. I though just over $9 was sort of a lot for two slices and a drink when I got rung up, but not now that I'm done eating and can't finish it. read more

So my baby and I went here today and it wasn't as good as the reviewers made it seem! However, we may just not have the same taste in pizza! This pizza was salty to me and that did it for me. Baby didn't like the onions he said it wasn't good and the nice lady gave us the two slices for free, he wasn't a fan either. He said the pizza was falling apart as he was trying to eat it. He is a thin pizza lover so of course this wasn't his style. However, I prefer this style but I think I am going to just stick to my regular pizza spots for now. I always disappoint myself with different pizza spots. Parking is available, I think their outside tables are available, I know we sat inside and workers do wear mask, also, tables are sanitized. They do have lunch specials if you go before three! They have single slices available and have no problem heating it up for you! Hospitality was great! Pizza tasting not so great! I enjoy Marcos & slim and huskys but try it out with a single slice if you want, our taste buds just may be different!! read more
