Oregon coast gem! I absolutely loved the welcoming atmosphere. It looked like a family owned spot. They have dinning tables inside and few outside. Today, we had the Jorge's home made corned beef has. The corned beef was extremely tender and flavorful. It was cooked with bell peppers, onions, and red skin potatoes. They were cooked to perfection! The bread was a sourdough made in house. Extra points for that! I asked for hot sauce and our server gave us their home made salsa. BOMB! The biscuits and gravy was delicious. The biscuits were not dry at all! Turkey sausage gravy kept us wanting more. Next time we come, I'd want to try the crab melt for lunch. We will be back! The food was excellent. I ordered the Katy Mediterranean potatoes, and they were delicious. My only critique is that the ratio of vegetables to potatoes needs a tiny bit of tweaking - just a bit more potatoes. But my over easy eggs were cooked to perfection. The service, however, leaves something to be desired. They all saw me standing there awkwardly trying to pay my bill, but two employees walked past like I didn't exist. This is a real problem. Not acknowledging my existence when I'm trying to give you money? Maybe because they smelled tourist? The couple next to me got stellar service from the owner himself. Good thing I don't live in the area then. They won't have to worry about me burdening them with my patronage again. My friend and I went here for lunch in the Newport area - even though it was busy, we waited no more than 5 minutes as they clean the table from the previous customer. We shared the spicy tuna sandwich with clam chowder bowl add-on and Blythe's burrito. The spicy tuna sandwich is excellent - fresh tuna on warm toasted bread, with a little bit of spicy mayo. It automatically comes with a side of chips but they chips are just the bagged kettle chips. We added a bowl of clam chowder and opted for garlic bread, which the server indicated that there is no extra charge. The clam chowder is a bit underwhelming - although they use a different type of clam by comparison, the soup itself is a bit bland and a bit too heavy on the potato. The Blythe's burrito is also good and extremely filling - that was the first thing I ate at this place but I got satisfactorily full with just half the burrito! It has egg, savory polenta, beans, avocado, and cheddar which although sounds basic on paper, works quite well for the combination. I'd have wished the egg to be less overcooked but otherwise the burrito is solid. Service is okay as we needed to request water refills. I docked a star for good food but could use some improvement and their attempt to overcharge us but they remedied the situation. The add-on bowl of clam chowder is $8 but they charged us $10 which is the normal price if we didn't upgrade it through the sandwich. read more

I had been wanting to try this café for sometime. When we arrived, we were near closing, but the staff was gracious and did not turn us away. We loved all of their food and will come again when we are in the area. The tortillas were amazing and handmade by Claudia. I did find something funny and my salsa, but it wasn't Hair. I think it was corn husk or like corn hair but I wasn't sure so I just asked for more salsa and they went and grabbed it for me no problem and they even warmed up my tea that had gotten cold for me. They have super Nate cups that are hand in the area and they're very beautiful and large and hold a nice cup of tea or coffee whatever you choose. Very flavorful food vegan options gluten-free options plant-based options and of course, carnivore options, we will be back. read more

We stayed 1 night in Newport, due to a fire along the highway stopping us from getting to our destination. The hotel we stayed at gave us a list of breakfast restaurants in the area. We had hoped to eat at a restaurant with a view of the ocean. This did not have a view. This also has terrible parking options. We circled the blocks multiple times, and had to walk a few blocks to get to the restaurant, which is something I try to avoid when eating out. We are from out-of-state, and do love Oregon's marionberries. We both ordered the baked marionberry french toast, which has cinnamon & sugar in between the layers, as well as nuts, and then is smothered in a marionberry sauce. It is rich. It's likely not healthy. But it was so tasty and different, that it made the effort to find the place & park worthwhile. We also had cups of tea, which are served in nice, large mugs, that are comfortable to hold and drink from. It was a cozy restaurant, with a limited number of tables, but worth trying if you are in the area. This was an unplanned stop, but we loved the novelty of our dish! read more

So beyond disappointed. I've been wanting to eat here for years but never have. Finally decided that today was the day. I should have stuck with my regular places. I think my mistake was ordering lunch because this seems to really be a breakfast place. We got two Cobb salads. What they turned out to be were expensive side salads. A small handful of lettuce, a pile of bacon, half a browning avocado, a couple rings of onion, some feta cheese, a wet hard boiled egg, less than an ounce of dressing, and a burned piece of toast. At no point did I feel like I was getting my money's worth. At most this should have been $8 but definitely not $14. We also got a hamburger. It was small and tough, both the bread and the meat, but the overall flavor was good. If we come back again it will be to try a breakfast but it won't be any time soon. Came in for an early lunch around 11:30am on a sunny Thursday. It was not busy at all so that was good since I read that the place can get pretty busy. The dinning room is quite small so I can see how they would have a long wait during rush hours. The service was fast and everyone seemed friendly and happy to be there. I was said they did not have cappuccino but only regular cup of coffee for $3. The menu is rather large with several options for breakfast and lunch. Parking was easy to find with street parking in front and a large parking lot right next door. I ordered a pastrami sandwich that cost $16 if I'm not mistaken. It was good but $16 is a little high. Some of their breakfast items were $22 which in my option is just too expensive. Food was tasty but I'll not go back due to the price. read more

I went to Newport twice in 2 weeks and after randomly coming there the first time and having the best pancakes of my life, I had to come back again. I don't have photos of the buttermilk pancakes but just 2 were filling and delicious. When I came back, I had a breakfast sandwich with fluffy scrambled eggs. Good accidental vegetarian option btw. Well it was an okay experience, they were open and finding a place open in Nye Beach is kind of weird. Businesses are open or closed on odd days. The place we wanted to visit was closed on Thursdays, that makes total sense. Anyway, back to the cafe', cute and nice enough for a beach joint. Good spacing of tables and for the most part felt comfortable at the beginning. Location: Good parking during non peak times. Facility: cute enough but limited due to COVID restrictions, they were doing their best. Menu: lots of items breakfast and lunch, we had breakfast. Food: it just acceptable, nothing fancy, greasy, salty, and generally just okay. Sorry it is true. Wait Staff: fine. Value: ok, they were open, we were starving, so that was great. What I did not like was the local customers coming in wearing no masks, and standing right behind just having a conversation with a server who did have her mask on. Then it happened again. We were the only customers in the place, geez move away. Yes, very low cased in this county, but they were going through the paces but looked to not really be into respecting other peoples space. We were staying at a cute little cottage near buy and ordered take out. We got there a little early so we sat at the bar and tried their oregon beer taster. They had a good selection and were able to get light, dark and cider choices. Our food was ready on time and we took it home. So good! We got the clam steamers and they were fresh and all the clams were open. The garlic bread was yummy. We also got blacken chicken dish and it was perfect and not dry. The sauce over it was amazing! Wonderful family run restaurant. We had 2 dogs with us, and they were very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed all of the food we ordered. We came here while on a weekend getaway in Newport and I'm so sad I can't transport this restaurant home with me. I loved everything about our experience. We showed up before 7am, in the pouring rain and the waiter was so friendly and gracious. We were the only ones in the restaurant and it felt like a personalized experience. He was so kind, filled our coffee often, kept asking if we needed more water, how our food was etc (but not in an intrusive or extra type of way). Just really good service. The food was done QUICK and was so incredibly delicious. The food was a perfect mix of flavors, not too light and not too heavy. I didn't love the gravy, but that's the only negative thing I have to say. Super cute ambiance. Down to earth cafe vibes. Super happy with my experience and hope I get to come back. read more
