Above average decor and decent food fail to make up for exceedingly slow and neglectful service. My wife and I came here after hearing a positive recommendation but came away feeling lackluster about the experience. It certainly won't take over the top spot among our favorite Old Irving Park Mexican restaurants. I would name them but then it might seem like that was why I wrote this and I truly mean this to be constructive criticism. Let's start with the fact that we received our food 50 minutes after being seated despite the fact that it took us less than five minutes to decide what to order. Once we were seated (quickly) every element of the experience took forever. Get water, wait five minutes, get complementary chips and salsa, wait 10, order food, wait 20. Etc. Like I said, it took 50 minutes to get our food. I know because I had to add time to our parking meter when our food arrived. And the wait was not limited to food. I waited quite a while for my drink and when it came my wife's soda was MIA. When my wife inquired about it five minutes later the response was an "of course" as if she was silly to think it wasn't being freshly made as quickly as possible. Then we wait for the check, and on and on. The food was just "ok". If it was amazing then you'd forgive a lot of flaws but it was just so-so. Plus some elements were not a good value. My "14oz medium margarita" wasn't more than 8 oz (served in a red wine glass so you know it wasn't 14oz!) and cost $11.95. Seriously? The chips were cold and could have come out of a bag. The salsa was super hot and when we asked for a mild salsa we received warm tomato sauce. Not pico de gallo or chunky salsa but tomato sauce. Literally. The decor is pleasant. The staff were friendly if inattentive. We might try it again if other reviews show they work the kinks out. But for now there are simply too many good alternatives to bother returning to O Manny!

Im only giving a star for the waitress working tonight, as she worked the floor and kitchen it seemed. We ordered a chimichanga, which came with a weird pasta sauce on top, and I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas. Fajitas were so bad, I had to send them back, the meat was so overcooked and rubbery I couldn't even eat it.We ordered the nacho appetizer, and was presented with 6 individually made nacho chips?! ..The rice was awful.. We each ordered 2 margs, which were mostly foam, and without knowing, got the "big" margaritas? Which were almost ,18.00 a pop. I literally feel robbed as we paid about 100.00 for one chimichanga, and 4 margaritas. Ridiculous. This place used to be so good when it was "CMannys"...such a shame.

3 stars for the food 5 stars for the margaritas - I would have to say their margaritas are delicious but the food was just Ok. They use USDA Choice so I was not expecting my carne asada to be delicious for the price. Come for the margaritas stay for some food if your hungry.

We were looking for a sit down Mexican restaurant near the Old Irving Park area and found O'Manny's only a mile away. The decor is okay, not great ambiance but the food is good and margaritas are strong and tasty. We went once on a Friday night and were one of maybe four tables, pretty dead for a Friday night at 8pm. Then we went on Cinco de Mayo and they were severely short staffed and the restaurant was completely full. There was one waitress for the whole restaurant including two tables of 8+ so the service was less than great but I'd give it another chance because the food really is good. If you get your leftovers packed up, check it before you go. I specifically asked for my tortillas (which they charged me for apparently even though it comes with my meal...) and they were not packed with my meal. I didn't realize this until the next day when I heated my leftovers.

I found this restaurant from Yelp because of the great reviews. Unfortunately we were less than impressed with the food. I give five stars for service because the waitress was excellent and very nice. We ordered nachos and I thought the nachos were ok, but my other half was grossed out by them. The tacos were just ok. The fajitas were very weird. They are served in a tomato based hot sauce that you can order mild or hot. The biggest disappointment was the $20 margaritas that are 3/4 foam and only a little bit of liquid at the bottom. At 8 PM on a Saturday we were the only table in the restaurant. Sadly I will say we will not return.

These chicken enchiladas were so good I forgot to take a picture until halfway through.

This rating is based on the food (5 stars), the margaritas (3.5 stars) and atmosphere 3.5 stars). Food: So. Damn. Good. I got the chicken enchiladas verdes and they were easily the best enchiladas I've had in the city. The chicken was fresh and I loved the flavor of the verde sauce. The rice and beans were good, too. My dude got the combination fajitas and they were also great. Both entrees were fairly priced for the portions. Margs: People in the neighborhood had been talking about their legendary margaritas, so I had high expectations. I was hoping for a marg made with some version of fresh lime juice, simple, and tequila. I think these margs used sour mix or margarita mix, which is why they lose points. Too sweet for me so I couldn't drink more than one. But hey they were strong, which I respect and appreciate. Atmosphere: The first thing we noticed when we walked in were some extremely bright fluorescent bulbs in several of the light fixtures. They were kind of blinding and distracted from the rest of the place, which is nicely decorated and clean. Overall I wish all the lights were dimmer, especially over the booths, but replacing those bright white bulbs would be a good start. Overall it's a good addition to the area, and with just a couple small changes (really small..like 4 lightbulbs) it could be GREAT. I'll be back either way. Those enchiladas are calling.

Staff very nice and great service! Sadly after days thinking about what to say I just can't give the food or drink 4 stars. The large margarita was bad...and definitely not worth $14. It was served warm from the mix being poured out of a jug and was insanely sweet/tart like a cheap sweet and sour mix...which it was since we saw it poured. We shared the nachos...they were excellent...I loved every chip was prepared so you had the perfect assortment of toppings on each bite. A large had like 9 chips and without meat was $8. They were good but kind of a rip at around $1 a scoop for cheap toppings like beans, sour cream, a pinch of cheese and pico with a drop of guac. You want some mind blowing nachos go across the street to Taco Max to get some bang for your buck! Parter ordered the mole enchiladas...ok but really small. I ordered the combo including an enchilada, taco and beef tostada. Enchilada was bland and tiny taco fell apart while I tried to pick it up because meat was extremely wet and the tostada was tasty. Meat was incredibly wet but seasoned well. Ride and beans served with were a winner with fantastic flavor. We came from reading the reviews but $55 later left disappointed with food and margaritas and probably won't return.

So excited to try this neighborhood spot!

I was happy to hear they were offering indoor dining. We came in about an hour before close and they were happy to seat us. Service and food was great, will definitely be going back!

The salsa is very hearty, thick and you can taste all the ingredients.

It's actually very underrated. The staff is very nice and the food is excellent. The music isn't too loud. I prefer coming over most restaurants with a higher star rating.

Are there any options for "skinny" low carb margaritas? I live on the block and would frequently visit if so!

Unfortunately at this time we do not have a “skinny” or “low carb” margarita. We do have a pretty great chicken salad packed with protein and healthy fat. Hopefully you will still give us a try in the future.

Although we are from the area, we had never visited before, and the photos immediately caught our attention. The bar fit our vibe perfectly, and after visiting a few times, we knew it was the right place for us. We rented both spaces: the main bar upstairs and Nightshade, the speakeasy downstairs. Moonflower has a small stage in the main bar, which we used for our ceremony. The space already has so much character that it needed very little decorating. We brought small flower vases and an altar piece that the bride and her now mother in law made together. After the ceremony, we held cocktail hour and served food buffet style in the main bar. Later, everyone moved downstairs to Nightshade. Its lounge atmosphere and dance floor were perfect for our 50 to 60 guests. Some people relaxed around the cocktail tables while others danced, so everyone could enjoy the night in their own way. Moonflower's event organizer, Morgan, was wonderful. She made the entire planning process feel easy and was a joy to work with. She helped turn our ideas into reality, assisting with day of logistics, décor, beverage packages, and every question that came up. She was always responsive and available. Morgan also helped us think through details that had not occurred to us, including coffee for our guests, explaining the parking situation, contacting nearby businesses about using their lots, and recommending DJs. We ultimately hired one of the DJs she suggested. Her extra support was incredibly helpful and took a great deal of stress out of planning. If you have not tried Moonflower's drinks, you are missing out. Their regular cocktail menu is fantastic, and our experience was even more special because of a custom cocktail session with Zach. He created signature drink options for each of us based on our tastes and favorite cocktails. Every option was spectacular, and the final drinks felt personal and special. We chose Funeral Potatoes for the food. Since they already handle the food at Moonflower, we were able to try many dishes beforehand. Our guests raved about everything. We especially recommend the brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and caprese sandwiches. Alexis, who heads up Funeral Potatoes, was also extremely helpful with selecting the menu. The only outside food we brought in was our wedding cake. The entire staff was phenomenal. Everyone treated the occasion with the perfect balance of care, professionalism, and fun. The night went off without a hitch and was truly one of the best nights of our lives. Moonflower was also extremely reasonable compared with other venues we considered in the city, especially with an open bar and food available on site. Street parking was plentiful, and none of our guests had trouble finding a spot. For anyone looking for a relaxed wedding for 50 to 60 people with a memorable lounge atmosphere, fantastic staff, buffet style food, and exceptional cocktails, Moonflower should be at the top of your list.

At 4pm on a weekday it was already bustling, and this place is popular for good reason! The entire vibe and the staff are just super cool. Even the bathrooms are an experience, with heavy metal music blasting in a way that just adds to the unique charm. To drink, I tried the lucky linny and blood orange sour, which were both fantastic. I'm not typically a huge beer person, but after this visit I'm well on my way to crossing to the other side. For the appetizer, we split the cheese curds. I really liked the Korean inspired twist and the kimchi aioli served alongside. I think it could've used a little more salt and arrived warmer for a nice cheese pull, but otherwise it was enjoyable. I opted for the double cheeseburger as the main event, and it was really well done. The beef was juicy, perfectly cooked, with ample high quality cheese and caramelized onions. I think the sauce could've used an extra something, but overall it was a great burger. Great experience all around. Can't recommend highly enough and look forward to returning soon!

Got it. Boozy? Check. No complaints there. Most of their food is pretty good. Went yesterday and had their nachos which were great. Unfortunately their mac of the month sounded good before we got it. Mac and cheese with mushrooms and bacon sounds great. But when we got it, it not only didn't look good it was just weird and they really missed the boat with it. They added blue cheese to it for some reason which threw off the taste, had raw tomatoes on it which added to an already way too liquidy sauce, and the pasta was way overdone. It's a shame because their pimento mac with breadcrumb crust is great. I feel like they just tried to get too fancy with that one and also forgot that if you add piping hot sauce to done pasta, it keeps cooking it. That said, service was very good and we will come back...but we will be wary of the mac of the month.
