Horrible experience! My brother called to have them grab some fluid off the shelf for pick up and when I arrived to pick it up, an older bigger bald guy at the register gave me the dirtiest look and said he didn't know how he could help me. I gave him my brother's name, phone number and the name of the fluid that was put to be picked up. He said he never got the call, so I asked him where in the store I could find that specific fluid and he looked at me and shrugged. Buddy was no help at all, he didn't even get his ass off that chair of his to help me lol. Never going back. read more

I'm really conflicted about this place. It is convenient if you are in Ramona, and they are willing to run the diagnostic check on your car battery. I came in because the battery on my parent's spare car seemed really sluggish so I thought it needed to be replaced and my parents don't have the tools to change it, so I wanted to buy a new one here and see if they would do it. The gentleman ran the battery check, told us three times that the battery was absolutely fine and it just needed to be driven more. Cue two hours later... I drive the car with the "absolutely fine" battery an hour down to SeaWorld with my daughter. We pay $32 for parking, park, and turn the car off. I realize that my daughter left her window down so I start the car back up to roll it up... Nothing. I check if any connections were knocked loose - nope. Cue us standing outside SeaWorld for the next half an hour asking every person leaving if they have jumper cables. $130 later to have roadside assistance jump the car (it immediately started after the cables were hooked up), and then we brought it back (me pretty much wanting to complain about being told it was good when it wasn't) and the super nice young gentleman at the counter changed it for me this time. So 5 stars for the nice young man who changed my car battery and carried the old one back inside and issued the $22 battery refund. And 1 star for the guy who swore the battery was fine, stranding me and my daughter in a parking lot an hour away from home. I should have ignored him and insisted they change the battery the first time when I thought it was bad. Lesson learned. read more

I don't usually write negative reviews - I try to avoid it anyways. But this O'Reilly's has ticked me off a number of times and thus has lost a loyal customer who spends hundreds if not thousands of dollars a year here (I maintain four of my own household's cars). I now go to Autozone across the street. I am a long time O'Reilly's fan boy, before I lived here I regularly went to the Poway and PQ ones. I've been to various other San Diego branches and NEVER had a problem with a single one until this one. So what're my problems with this particular shop? A) I've placed online pickup orders a number of times that are not ready within days, let alone the quoted pickup times. When I've called to ask about these orders, I'm told they'll be ready soon and they act like I have ten heads. This makes the online ordering basically useless for this O'Reilly's so the last few weeks I've stopped placing online orders totally for this location. That means I either have to go in to the shop and just ask for the part or I end up ordering it on Amazon instead. B) I've walked up to the desk on numerous occasions to get help and often times the staff are just not attentive*. I sometimes have to get in their face to get their attention. C) when returning oil, they act like it's a huge deal and huge inconvenience. D) the straw that broke the camel's back. this shop is supposed to stay open til 10 PM. the sign says it on the front. the O'Reilly's website says it. I've shopped up a number of times (I think three) after 9 PM but well before 10 PM where the shop doors were closed, lights were still on inside. I've heard employees screwing off in the back room one or two of those times. This is a huge one for me, because as I mentioned I maintain my own household's cars, I am not a professional mechanic. This means I'm often working at night and need to get something quick. It's very frustrating when you're doing a job and you go to a shop you rely on and they're closed before they're supposed to be with the employees screwing off in the back. I'm not a high maintenance or annoying customer. I just want the basics of the service I've received at every other O'Reilly's I've ever been to, and these guys have failed to provide them on a number of occasions. I've complained to the district manager via voicemail (the phone # for the shop manager does not go to voicemail, so I have not been able to get ahold of him) and of course I have not received any call back. *note: some of the staff are really good. there are two younger guys here who I've talked to and are really attentive and helpful, but besides that the staff is very meh. read more

Whilst returning from a doctors checkup, my wife discovered that the car needed a new battery. When she stopped into O'Reillys, she discovered that one of their assistants, Michael refused to install one, despite O'Reillys having done so in the past. Not real impressed. Says online they'll install batteries for you but not true when you get to the store. My daughter got her battery jumpstarted and went there as I purchased online pickup battery from O'reilly because it says they will install free of charge as a courtesy. They were nice but had some BS excuse that they can't install batteries because it will erase memory or something like that. Should have gone to Costco like I had planned to originally. My Tundra battery went completely dead, but after a jump; I was fortunate enough to select this location to place all my hope into finding a replacement 30 minutes before closing time. Dana took the time to find the 1 battery in inventory that fit my truck, provided the tools to make the swap, and even stayed late to check my charging system to ensure I was driving off with no other issues. Failed alternator in LS400. Replaced it before 7 years ago in 2012. Thought I bought from O'reilly's but no receipt ... They checked records verified my 2012 purchase ... GUESS WHAT? It's Lifetime Warranty saved me a bunch of money! I've bought a lot of car-parts online ... like the LS steering pump I just bought that was two days delayed because it got delivered to a random neighbor miles away .... and Audi alternator for Audi was DOA ... Maybe not as cheap as online, but convenience and warranty of brick & mortar stores are hard to beat. O'reilly Ramona, CA excels at customer service! read more

We are restoring a car in Julian, and the closest o'reillys is in Ramona, we called on July 2nd and they guaranteed a new radiator will be ready for pick up on July 3rd, we even went there the afternoon to make sure they will definitely have the radiator before heading home to San Diego, and after driving over an hr, we get to o'reillys July 3rd afternoon, they were giving us a box and inside is a used radiator that has oil leaking from it and even has a rust! WTF! Don't guarantee a product that u don't have! We could've called a different store for it, but it was a wasted time, day, gas, mileag and energy going there for nothing! It's 2 stars because at least one guy at the counter tried to help. read more
