I've been here a few times and before my last visit the place would have earned a 4/5. Unfortunately the last time I went they really messed up the rice. It was the worst rice I've ever had with sushi. It was so dry. The type of dry where you didn't put enough water when cooking the rice or how Safeway sushi taste after leaving it in the fridge overnight. My nirgi 12 piece set was quite disappointing as well. They decided to give 1 piece of salmon, 1 piece of tuna, 1 egg, 1 fish eggs, 1 shrimp, 1 eel and the rest white fish. The cuts were small and not well done. Just because it's chef's choice doesn't mean get rid of your less popular fish. The customer is giving you trust to responsibly craft a balanced and tasty plate!! I went with my sister because it is one of her favorite sushi spots in Santa Rosa. My sister and her husband always finish their sushi but this time there were a lot left over... We have driven to Napa, sf and Oakland to satisfy the craving. O Sushi frickin rocks! We sit at the sushi bar and we always walk away completely full and satisfied - literally talking about the sushi and/or their toro for days after. I've been hearing about this place and it's really close to my house, but I keep forgetting about it when I want sushi..... never again! My friend got the Korean hot soup and I got traditional sushi in both were fantastic. He got an egg in his which swirled it around. Outstanding no frills neighborhood sushi restaurant! This review is specifically for the Roll & Nigiri Lunch Combo. It comes with 6 pieces of nigiri, your choice of roll, miso soup and salad. They actually give you the choice of getting an additional 3 pieces of nigiri instead of the roll, which I love because I prefer nigiri. Decided to go for a new place to try sushi. The restaurant was a bit dark, almost felt like it was closed and didn't help trying to read the massive menu. The menu is like a book long which was very overwhelming. I think they created many "specialty rolls" but when you read them, they sound pretty similar, nothing unique. We ordered 3 specialty rolls, veggie roll and seaweed salad. I liked the seaweed salad, it had a unique sauce that made it good. The veggie roll was great (Yam Yam roll) the Toto Roll was okish and the other two were not memorable to even remember the name. Also when you read like 40 different type of rolls you forgot which one you actually ordered. The service was good but the food took a while to come out. The offered us fried Oreo on the house for the wait. My vote is not to try this place again. The rolls were not memorable to come back unlike other sushi spots around the area. Truly recommend to the business to shorten the list of sushi options (regular or specialty rolls) and focus on the most popular. read more

The sushi is worth the price. We ordered the Pansoo, Tuna nigiri, Triple spicy roll, and spicy country roll. The fish was fresh and melts in your mouth. My partner mentioned the only downside of the rolls was the rice, he said it was a little dry. But I asked my partner if he would rather have good rice or good quality fish hehe. If you like good sushi, STAY AWAY from O' Sushi!!! My mom, sister, and I went to lunch here on 10-3-23 and it was seriously DISGUSTING! The sushi had the strongest most fishy flavor. The raw fish on top had super thick slices and the meat was so chewy we had to spit it out. My mom had another type of fish on top that had the skin still attached! I couldn't figure out why the whole roll tasted so fishy and just plain nasty. The rice even tasted like rotten fish and was super soggy. I could only stomach two bites and my mom only a few bites. My mom ordered tea which she described as tasting like warm water (no flavor). My sister had a bento box which she said was "okay." The only good thing was the miso soup. On top of the horrible food, the chairs are a safety hazard. They have thin metal legs and when you sit down you feel them bending and shaking under you. Only one table, which we ended up moving to, had normal sturdy chairs. My family and I cannot believe this place has such great reviews! Have you all not been to the other great sushi restaurants we have in Sonoma County?! The strip mall it is located in is a bit run down, but once you are inside you will forget about that. Very clean and pleasant space. Excellent attentive service. Vast menu. I had the chicken salad and my daughter had sushi and a salad. All very fresh with nice presentation. Great flavors throughout. Beware - prices have gone up significantly! 23% in just five days! This was our favorite take-out sushi place. We always got takeout here for celebrating birthdays and other special occasions. The sushi was great and the prices were reasonable. We went twice in the past week to celebrate two different occasions. We ordered almost the exact same items both times and prices went up 23%! On 6/29, we got 4 rolls, one hamachi nigiri and one inari nigiri. Five days later, we got the exact same 4 rolls and one inari nigiri - but didn't get the hamachi nigiri so we could save the $7. Our 6/29 bill totaled $68 before tax for the 4 rolls, 1 inari and 1 hamachi. Our 7/4 bill totaled $75 before tax for the 4 rolls, 1 inari and NO hamachi. At previous prices, it would've only cost $61! We expected it to cost $61, so went to ask about the prices thinking there might be a mistake or there might be a 4th of July surcharge that we weren't told about over the phone. But we were told that prices went up. The Lambada roll used to be $15 and now is $19. The Crunch roll used to be $11 and now is $12. The Cherry Crunch roll used to be $15 and now is $17. The Hamachi Heaven roll used to be $16 and now is $20. The Inari nigiri used to be $4 and now is $7. I know prices are soaring everywhere, but this one hurts because it was our tradition to get sushi here for our family's special occasions and $20 for a roll just feels too far out of our price range. read more

I really enjoy eating here. I generally get a spider roll while my husband gets more different things. The food is really good, almost more than you can eat. They would have gotten five stars, but they were kind of overbusy. We ordered water with our dinner, but our poor waitress was so overworked, she never got it to us. My husband finally got a bottle of mineral water out of the cooler, and I did kind of drink some of it--however, I don't like anything carbonated or lemon flavored. So we didn't drink a lot of it. They have a little robot which really is underused. They could send it out with food and maybe speed things up. We got there right at the beginning of a rush. A lot of to go orders, and by the time we left, the place was full. They probably need two waitresses. She not only waits on everyone, but seems to have the duties of cashier, too. It's a lot for one person. I will say that not only do a lot of Asian people eat here, but just about every ethnic group was represented. I like that in a restaurant. Decent sushi rolls but NOT when it comes to vegetarian! I've had some amazing fresh mushroom and mushroom/ walnut etc. vegetarian sushi down in Palo Alto California when I lived down there. I could start drooling just thinking about them. I decided to try two different mushroom ones here. Horrific! They were a sweet, rubbery Shitake mushroom that has the consistency of canned mushrooms etc. It was the exact same roll twice, but one had some avocado in it. I love food and I'm not that picky but I literally couldn't eat them. I tried to force my self to eat some and then paid back with intestinal problems later. The girl did not come back to check on us and I sat there for a very long time not eating. with a total of three other people in there eating. When she finally did come to ask about the bill I mentioned how bad it was and she just said that's how they make those, the other veg. choice was better. She did and said nothing to try to make it any better. More money than I wanted to spend to not eat! My friend had something like a king dragon roll? Crunch roll? I don't remember the name but his was very good. And that's not what gave me the "food poisoning" because he was fine so it was just those rolls. F O O D: Rolls are tasty and a great size. Our favorites are The Energy roll (which is a deep fried roll), the Mango Paradise roll, and their bento boxes! I love that you can order double sashimi in the bento boxes - I've been to some places where that isn't allowed and you get charged extra. The only negative is that their Katy's chicken is very dry.
