We were really looking forward to dining here--the menu looked amazing and we had a 6:00 PM reservation. We arrived early (around 5:20) hoping to enjoy some Happy Hour drinks at the bar. We told the host (Hilary) we were happy to wait if our table wasn't ready, but she said it was and proceeded to seat us. That's where things took a turn. We were led through the beautiful main dining room to a small, separate side room with big group tables and one tiny two-top tucked in the corner. It lacked the charm and ambiance of the main space, and felt like an afterthought. We politely asked if we could be seated in the main dining area instead--and were told flat-out no, that they were fully booked for the night. This was confusing since there were clearly open tables, and we had already said we were happy to wait. The whole interaction felt cold and dismissive, which was incredibly disappointing. We ended up leaving and finding another place to enjoy our evening. Sadly, not the welcoming experience we were hoping for. read more

Why have we waited so long to try this place? It is really good! We had brunch reservations on Easter Sunday. We were seated on time. Ambiance is on point. Service was spectacular! Our group had the chicken sandwich, the meatloaf and the shrimp BLT, and tomato basil soup. All were excellent. I might suggest a bit less dressing on the shrimp as it made the bread slightly soggy but the shrimp were excellent and the lemon aioli was a smart choice. This place was great. Food was amazing. Rebecca was so great and attentive, truly a gem working there! She gave amazing recommendations, the prime rib was 1000/10!! The mashed potatoes were some of the best from a restaurant I've ever had. My husband got the ribeye and although it was amazing, it wasn't better than the prime rib haha. The Brussels were 10/10!! And we highly recommend the smoked anejo! The atmosphere was so relaxing on a Sunday late afternoon! We'll definitely be back! read more

Just a quick visit for appetizers. Excited to try the new restaurant. The shrimp cocktail was perfect. Tender shrimp cooked and chilled perfectly with a great presentation. Hummus was lovely. Great bar and upscale menu with plenty of TVs to catch up h the games. read more

I've been meaning to stop here since they opened and finally got here. At first, i thought it might be a little too much, but it turns out it's just that first initial feeling when you walk in. It's really a down to earth type of place with attentive employees and a great atmosphere. Oh yeah! The food is good also. I just had the Oak St. burger & fries. The burger was really good with tomatoes, avocados, lettuce, and some kind of sauce. The fries, well, i don't particularly care for those types of fries, but they were ok. The price however was a little high in my opinion, but then again, we are talking about being on Oak St., so... I most likely will be back for another visit in the future to try something else on the menu. read more

I swear we've been to every restaurant that's opened in this space! This spot is relatively new, so we gave it a shot for a weekend dinner date night. They did a really nice job with the interior: everything feels very trendy. The bar area especially is lovely with a ladder situated almost like those old school libraries, except these shelves were stacked with wine and other alcoholic beverages. The staff were all kind and attentive and even the manager stopped by our table to ensure we were having a good experience. The food is pretty good: I had the spiced honey chicken sandwich with their fries. We started with fried calamari and zucchini, which was pretty decent! I liked the addition of the fried zucchini as it was a good palate cleanser and fried really well. I only wish I had more of them! The spiced honey chicken sandwich was good: the chicken was cooked to perfection and SO juicy. My one critique is I WISH it had more flavor! I was expecting more honey and heat, but found it to be little different from an ordinary fried chicken sandwich. That said, it was very well done: all the components were cooked well. The fries were tasty and definitely felt fresh. The food is priced more moderately, but the menu definitely has something for all budgets and tastes. I'd love to come back and taste one of their cocktails: they had quite a few that sounded intriguing. I'm sure we'll be adding this spot to our Roanoke rotation! read more

Super cute restaurant located within downtown Roanoke. The whole area has a very small town feel with a modern twist. This restaurant in particular has great food- especially steak. Oh and the mashed potatoes are a must try! It's got a lovely indoor space with a small outdoor patio. If you want to go on the weekend make sure you have a reservation or be prepared to wait for about an hour for a seat as a walk in. Highly recommend this place though! read more

I was debating between 4 and 5 - we'll call it 4.5 The service was excellent - Shaun was a wonderful server, very fast to take my order and bring out food, and he was courteous and thoughtful as well (separate to-go container for sauces without having to ask, etc.). Drinks were good. The food was kind of basic but tasty and cooked well. Coconut shrimp were delicious. The sauce was a little mayonnaisey for my taste, but some people like that. I subbed the side for the street corn, and it was good. Music was a mix of pop, some pop/country hybrid type music, and oldies. I sat at the outdoor covered patio, which was nice and had fans. Meeting an associate for lunch, we were both excited to try a new place in Roanoke..What a let down ! Cheeseburger for him, and a grouper sandwich for me. Cheeseburger was so-so, but both of our buns disintegrated. Grouper portion was more minnow in proportion. Yuck...the fries at 12:00 were cold and hard. Service is glacial in speed. Super cute place with delicious food! Our waiter today was very attentive and super friendly. I had the fish tacos with rice and corn. The fish tacos had a little bit of spice to them but they were really good! The corn was great, could definitely leave out the cheese, and the rice was seasoned really well and not dry.
