The perfect little diner. Small, nothing fancy, but tidy and accommodating with delicious, cheap breakfast food and attentive service. My mom and I came here for breakfast on a weekday in July 2014. Breakfast for two, plus two extra sides and two coffees, was $18. We got the sweet cream pancakes with scrambled eggs and "Pete's french toast" with bacon. The french toast had a delicious cinnamon sugar coating; I would recommend it over the pancakes, but both were very good. The scrambled eggs were really great- a lot of diners tend to overcook their scrambled eggs, but these were soft and moist. If you prefer drier hard-scrambed eggs, you might want to specify. The bacon was of good quality, thick and tasty. The service was perhaps the best part. Our server was friendly, attentive, and conversational, but not nosy or over the top, and our food came out quickly. This is my favorite diner and I recommend it to all of my coworkers and friends; this is now our go-to spot when we go for lunch out of work! I go to Oak three to four days a week and not only are the waitstaff courteous and friendly, they always make sure to remember my regular just how I like it and teach new people how I like it. Was looking for a unique, uncrowded place to meet my daughter for lunch, halfway between where we work. Saw all the good reviews and decided to give it a try. The waitresses were friendly and nice and the food was just great diner fare. The place is small, a little worn in spots but clean. We loved it and will be going back. The food was great and the portions were huge. My favorite breakfast place in town. The environment is neat and tidy and the staff are friendly and efficient. The large menu includes all ot the classic diner fare and also lots of extras. The spinach and feta omelette is my standard. It's reliably cooked perfectly with always fresh spinach. For simple favorites executed just right, this is the place. I just had breakfast here today. This is not my first time I have been here multiple times and have always received good service and great food. Last visit I was give a frequent diner card. Well todays experience makes me not want to come back ever again. I asked for a cranberry juice and was told they don't have that so I asked for a soda water then the server responds with "What bar do you think you are at we don't have that" Ok I'll take a Sierra mist then. Then at the end of the meal she dropped of the check I went to the cash register with my ticket and frequent diner card. She was angered by this because with that card you receive 20% off and she had to redo the math. She aggressively ripping off the old ticket to redo the math. I said she didn't need to do the discount and her answer was "if I don't i won't be able to sleep at night" in a condescending aggressive tone. My guest and I we taken back and became very uncomfortable and wanted to leave immediately. I guess I won't be using that frequent diner card anymore. read more

The service was good, and the ladies who run the place are very friendly. However, the fork and my coffee mug were dirty, and the table had not been wiped. I ordered the garden skillet. Where do I begin? My friend and I went here not too long ago to eat breakfast together. "It's got four Yelp Stars" he told me with vigor. I shook my head like a metronome. "Ok" I said. Let's do it. So we strapped my son into his car and off we went. First impressions....Dirty lil diner. Okay. I can handle that. Some really good food comes from places like these. But... The baby highchairs were so incredibly sticky, I couldn't even move the buckles. When I tried to buckle my son in, the clips were broken. I thought about tying it around my sons belly, but...I didn't. My hands came away with a visible gluey like substance, that I could only assume was years old, gelatinized food. Pop was flat, but cold. But best for last....There was a HUGE cook's hair in my omelette. At first, I tried to deal, but when the cook walked out of the kitchen and I realized he didn't have a hair net on at all, I knew I could not finish my food. My friend was gracious and traded with me, but I mean...I knew it came from the same cook...so...I stuck to the toast. Which is all really sad because the waitress, who im pretty sure owns the place is just so sweet....She just must not have a cleaning bone in her body. I'd liken eating here to eating at a restaurant in a different country. They have wigglier tendencies when it comes to sanitization. read more
