Okay, this place is good! The food was good, the decorations was amazing however my complain is the services OMG it's way to slow. I know this is a sit down I underhand that 100% however come 2 hours for an good meal, I mean the food was nothing to right. I have seen a lot of people post about how great this joint is and decided to check it out for myself. I went here for a Saturday lunch. Upon reviewing the menu, I couldn't help but notice the variety of menu items. There was burgers, pizza, breakfast items and all sorts of stuff. I knew that I wanted to try their ranch so I was thinking I needed to get fries, not only that but the Yelp reviews seemed to gas up how great the fries are. I decided to order the oak burger. Upon arrival from kitchen to table, I was quite shocked with how big it was. It was one of those burgers that was so tall, it was hard to look pleasant while eating it. The flavor within the burger was superb however. One thing I LOVED was the pickles and I don't even like pickles. Lol. The fries were more like mini pieces of potatoes and they were seasoned with paprika. The paprika would've been fine except for the fact that I was trying to taste test the ranch and the paprika was over powering. The ranch passed the test by the way. If you are in Draper, you absolutely need to check this restaurant out. I know I will be visiting again to see how their pizza tastes! read more

Every time I visit Oak I am super happy with each incredible dish! The mix of flavors is phenomenal, and you really can't go wrong with anything you order. My favorite dishes: the prosciutto pizza, Nashville chicken sandwich (so tender and juicy!), carbonara, and the fried cauliflower. I don't love the avocado toast. Unlike the other dishes on the menu, it lacks flavor and spice. It's really quite plain and I wish something could be added to it. Cons: two of the times I have gone, someone in my party received water glasses that were very dirty and nasty. Another time I went the cook had forgotten some ingredients on my food and it just didn't taste the same, even after I asked for those ingredients to be added. read more

I've come here twice since Covid19 sent the restaurant world reeling--once for takeout and once for dine-in. Both occasions offered professionalism and stellar food. I've tried the margarita pizza, the amaze balls cauliflower app, and the brisket burger. The cauliflower is insanely good. I loved the pizza's perfect chewy crust but could have used a bit more tomato sauce. The burger was good but also suffered from being a little lacking in the sauce department. As to social distancing--it seems to be handled fairly well. Next time I'll probably opt for patio seating but inside was fine too. Will I be back? Yes. And I recommend you try it too! read more

First time here and it won't be the last. Ordered the Nashville and the Oak burger, both with a side of fries. The Oakburger was good. Thick bacon and a thick patty. The Nashville was super yummy. The chicken stayed nice and crispy the whole time which is rare in a chicken sandwich. There was the perfect amount of sauce and heat. Fries were fantastic but would have appreciated some fry sauce over the ketchup served. Also we loved the love music. Didn't expect it but it was a nice surprise. read more

Heard this place is good for brunch and dinner. My friend and I showed up for brunch and the house was packed! That was how we know the place is good. We ordered chicken & waffle, salmon hash and a cinnamon roll to share. The chicken and waffle were a bit dry, it wasn't consistent with the seasoning but that's fine, the cinnamon roll made it up. The salmon hash was very delicious. I really liked the balance of the acidity and sweetness. I kind of wished it had some kind of bacon bits to add some saltiness. I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more. The service was good also. Would recommend for brunch. read more

We arrived for breakfast. Sat and ordered coffee - informed that the coffee machine is broken. How do you operate a restaurant for breakfast with no coffee? Next we ordered peach Bellini's. A glass of clear liquid was placed in front of me. I asked what it was it wasn't formed. It was a peach Bellini. I inquired where the muddled peaches were and was informed that they were out of those. They informed us that their pizza oven wasn't working. Discontinued on for another five minutes as we went through item after item that was unavailable, or they were unable to prepare until we ultimately got up and walked out. Here's an idea, when you're unable to operate a restaurant, don't open the doors. If you're having some type of crazy systemic failures across platforms, put a sign on the door and say you're not open that day. Don't try and act as though you're fulfilling requests and orders, when you are unable to. read more

This is my wife and my favorite new place. The sexy fries and stroganoff were so amazing. We have even door dashed it several times.

We have tried to walk in here 3 times during COVID and always had too long of wait. We went at 5:15pm this time and beat the rush. I'd say the chicken pot pie was one of the best I've had. We had a very good experience here. Everything was very good. During covid it was a little hard to tell what they had with the menus being on your phone ,but the staff was very helpful and friendly. They were also good at making recommendations and giving us a little history of what they do there. Because of the great vibe we got from staff and great ambiance, we were expecting a notable experience, but the encounter missed the mark. The good news is the restaurant has the potential to improve without much effort. Provide more robust server orientation and check the food before it leaves the kitchen and Oak Wood Fire Kitchen could easily be a 4.5-5 star experience. AMBIANCE - The dining room was attractive and clean, and we received a warm welcome from three staff. - The music was too loud to converse with people on the other side of our round table for six. - The light in the bathroom was so dim that I could hardly see the top of the soap dispenser. It was too dim for any desired mood effect. FOOD Here's our food experience from stronger to poorer: - My salmon dish was well done and the asparagus spears and rice were nicely prepared. - The avocado toast had a fresh medley of tastes and ripened avocado slices. - The Wood Oven Asparagus was also nicely prepared. The poached egg was a little undercooked for me (the whites should be solid) but it wasn't bad. - The strawberry shortcake was average and didn't give a reason to order it again. - The only coffee they offer is the French press, which I enjoy since I can stop the steeping before it becomes too strong or bitter. However, the water was not hot enough so the coffee couldn't steep properly. I'd suggest increasing the source water temperature. - The house salad my wife ordered was somewhat plain. I attached a pic FWIW. - My 11-year-old girls ordered the kid's pasta (noodles with Alfredo and parmesan). Neither child cared for it. The noodles were very overcooked--mushy and mealy. Also, there was so much cheese that it mostly all stuck together. This was a rare occasion when I didn't require them to finish or bring the leftovers (almost all of it) home. SERVICE Despite our less-than-ideal experience, I would not hesitate to hire our server! She was personable and aimed to please. It's a lot easier to show someone the nuances of waiting tables than to show them how to relate to people. Following is our service experience, from strong to not-so-strong: - Our server pre-heated my wife's teacup when she understood she likes her tea hotter than average. - Our server consulted with the chef and suggested a tasty rendition of the Wood Oven Asparagus for someone who doesn't eat pork products. - Our server overlooked bringing out my wife's house salad and comped it without saying anything. (When reviewing the check, I asked if she overlooked that item, and she said she comped it because of the inconvenience to my wife. That sort of proactive discretion makes me want to return.) - There were five people in our party but six place settings. The extra place setting remained for the duration of our meal instead of being removed to declutter the table or to reduce plate and napkin washing between guests. - When handing sugar packets to my wife, she reached her arm between me and my food instead of handing them to my wife while standing next to her. - I wasn't provided a second fork between the entrée and my dessert so I used my salmon-tasting fork to eat my strawberry shortcake. Chose Oakwood for a business meeting/lunch because i like the vibe of the restaurant . I have eaten here a few times and the food is always pretty good. Two Of us ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was so burnt it was pretty much burnt crust. Not even sure their was a chicken patty in there somewhere. Another ordered the house salad with chicken and it was literally arugula, chicken and a lemon dressing. Crazy for $16 bucks. Super disappointing. Service was not great either. My husband, daughters, and I came to Oak after a visit to a nearby Temple while in Utah. We walked into the inviting and fun atmosphere. The Organic Modern decor is cozy and inviting with a sense of the place to be. Decor is well done. (And that's coming from an Interior Designer) The food....the food is AMAZING!! My husband got the Margarita pizza and said it was one of the bests he's had. I had the Seared Salmon and oh my Lord, that was the best salmon dish I've had. I've had salmon dishes from AZ, Vegas, Maryland, South Carolina, and Florida and this was the best!! The combination of the Poblano crema, corn and edamame with the tomatoes were a delectable patty in my mouth. The flavor combination is out of this world. Their chef is top notch with these amazing dishes. Their staff is friendly, attentive, and excellent. If your in Draper....driving through, in a near by town...GO!! You will not be disappointed!! Had the Oak Burger. It was one of the top five burgers ever, including my own. The fries are very good, too.

My girl told me about this place, she'd been reading up on it, so we decided to make the drive and try it out last week. We pulled up, saw it was in a strip mall, and then thought... "Hmmm, maybe we shouldn't..." I decided to go in, walk around, glance at a few plates. It looked good, so we went in. After a long wait, we were hoping it would be worth it... It was. The appetizer- Fried cauliflower, spicy with seasonings and peppers. (My girl tried one pepper, and she nearly died- they were HOT. Be warned.) But the cauliflower was delicious- spicy, lightly fried and taking on some of the heat of the peppers, but not too hot to be enjoyed. We shared a burger and a pizza. The burger was served on a warm brioche bun, the meat was seasoned, topped with arugula, cheese and bacon. A GREAT burger, and let me tell you, that's a rare thing in Utah, where most burgers available are fast food. "Sexy fries", fries with parmesan, garlic and truffle oil- were fantastic. The pepperoni pizza was drizzled with honey, something I've never seen before- but it was good. The pepperoni itself was delicious, and unlike any I've had elsewhere, and the crust and dough were smooth, soft, almost creamy. SO delicious. I couldn't stop eating the pizza! The sweetness of the honey mixed so well with the salty pepperoni- mmmm good. Dessert saw freshly made donut holes, dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Soft, chewy, warm, fantastic. The drinks menu was heavy on wine, somewhat odd for this part of town, but can't complain, though maybe a few other non-alcoholic drinks might be a nice addition to the menu. (Since it's a bistro atmosphere, some fruity non-alcoholic mixed drinks with bitters, or just lemonade maybe) They also appear to serve an amazing breakfast here on Sundays; I'm going to have to get up early sometime soon to partake of that. Used to be great. When Oak first opened it quickly became a Draper local favorite. However, Since it was bought out, quality and taste have diminished. Oak was known for an amazing sweet red sauce and goat cheese with fresh bread. The new owner took away the special sauce and substituted one that is way too spicy. Why do so many restauranteurs equate spice to taste?! Everything on the menu has been changed, altered or deleted. What a shame! My advice is to stay away until Michael gets over his ego trip of ruining another restaurant and returns Oak to its former glory. read more

We had been big fans of this restaurant, what happened? This had been one of our favorite brunch spots! I know that Covid 19 has made it difficult for restaurants and certain businesses, but don't loose your drive! The staff here doesn't care, the food has become sub par, and even something as easy as sitting outside and dining is made difficult because of all the flies and soot coming from the roof. We were not expecting this, this place was always solid. Why is the creme fraiche sooo sour and has odd contaminates? Why does it taste and smell like it is spoiling? Why are the eggs so salty? We got Baked Goat Cheese for appetizer (good tho I'm a bit indifferent about the dish), Margarita pizza (quite a disappointment and the dough is much drier/ obviously not as good quality as the bread from appetizer and dough from prosciutto pizza), and Prosciutto and arugula pizza (amazing! We love everything about this one). The crust are a bit broader than my liking so I wish they spread the toppings more widely on the pizza. read more
