We're so fortunate to have such a wide variety of desserts available until midnight every night (or beginning at 7:30am, if you're an early bird). Lots of different genres of desserts, but the Greek items seem to be the real standout. Though any cake is going to hit the spot, because it's cake. Ekmek: By far the standout. Unlike anything I've had before. The bottom is a bunch of thin dough strands that are cooked flaky, but soaked in a honey-like sauce until everything is syrupy. On top of that is a thick and creamy custard layer, which is truly indulgent and great with the bottom layer of dough strands. And to make it even more indulgent, a thick whipped cream on top. So many great textures and so delicious. Nutella Bites: Reminds me a little of an alfajores, but with Nutella in the middle instead of dulce de leche. The dry shortbread-like cookies make this especially nice paired with coffee. Rainbow Cookies: Love these. Colorful. Great almond taste in the cake pieces and tasty raspberry spread in between. Really appreciated how fresh it tasted, since sometimes shops keep these cookies around for a few days. Peach Tres Leches: A tad disappointing because it was nowhere near as soaked a traditional tres leches. Reminded me those spongy cakes with fruit layers you often find in Chinatown. Except here the cake layer was very lightly soaked in cream, so was a little moist but not like tres leches moist. The peaches were a good pairing to all the cream though. Seven Layer Cake: If you're a chocolate lover, this is for you. So many alternating layers of moist devils food cake and rich frosting. It is a bit intense though, so I can only take a little at a time. Orange Cake: Actually had this at The Grind recently so have a basis for comparison. Theirs wasn't as moist as it come have been, hence was dense like a pound cake. I prefer when it's so moist it's almost falling apart. read more

I don't think anyone understands how excited I was when an Oasis opened up right near my office in the city! I've been going to the OG Bayside location FOREVER! We all know it's hard to find real STRONG coffee out here for a European gal, so I had to go get my fix of freddo cappuccino! I walked in on my lunch break, the two girls behind the counter were super friendly! The place is small, but super clean & the aesthetic is so cute! The flavors are Western and familiar enough to not scare your unadventurous relatives from Kansas, while the style of offerings are just slightly different enough to be a refreshing find (e.g. mango cake). I'd passed by sometime last year when Oasis was still under construction, and I was super excited that they were opening in Hell's Kitchen! If you don't know, Oasis has multiple locations. One of them is in Flushing, Queens where I grew up. It's an institution there. This is such an excellent addition to the neighborhood. You can never have enough dessert options. Especially one that opens late! A great place to pick up some dessert on the way home after dinner in the area. As I did recently. I'm not a big fan of cheesecake, but their cheesecake is absolutely divine (an adjective I seldom use). It's nice and light, but still decadent. We got the tiramisu and dulce de leche cheesecake. They were excellent. Another night we got baklava cheesecake and 7 layer. They were both good too. I've had chocolate cheesecake from the Queens location that was good. I had been bingeing on all things cake, cookies, and sweets since mid-January so when I passed by Oasis Cafe recently, I was deeply saddened. Determined to stick to my healthy routine before going on vacation and doing more damage, I decided to only get a pistachio latte. Great choice because it is the REAL deal. Not that pistachio syrup flavor crap you get at Starbucks. No people, Oasis has little pistachio bits in your coffee. Cute small shop that opened a little over a month ago. People were going in and buying some of the delicious looking desserts. I had some regrets, but I'll be back after vacation for them all. Sadly overall the desserts are too sweet for me (which might be a good thing cuz If they dial down on the sweetness of items I would be living here and never leave lol) Banana cream pie: I don't even like/eat banana in general, but I went bananas with the banana cream pie here! I was intrigued the moment I laid my eyes on it! The mile high cream looks adorable and delectable. It was so light and fluffy and I was amazed how the banana pudding/custard mixture blends together with the whipped cream and is just as airy and creamy as the whipped cream. It's like eating banana flavored cloud! Ekmek: This is something new that I had for the first time and it was love at first bite! The bottom layers of kataifi dough was baked until crispy & golden, bathed in lemon scented syrup, topped with creamy thick custard & whipped cream & garnished with almonds. So much different flavors and texture just come together perfectly decadent and delicious! Raspberry mousse: The raspberry mousse layer preserves the tartness of raspberry that I love! Black & White Mousse: very decadent but overall too sweet for me Tiramisu cheesecake: Just when I thought tiramisu couldn't get any better, it did! This is the best of both worlds! A couple of us ended up at Oasis Cafe after dinner nearby at a restaurant lacking dessert options. Or should I say a dessert desert and Oasis Cafe was an oasis? Sorry, couldn't resist.  Many of the treats in the case looked fantastic. I had my eye on a seven layer chocolate cake but in the end, I opted for the Boston cream cheesecake since it sounded unique. A successful mashup of two different types of cakes. Description from their website: "Tender chocolate sponge cake is topped with a rich dreamy cheesecake followed by pastry cream and ganache for an exquisite, unforgettable dessert." Oasis Cafe was doing brisk delivery and takeout business, I observed. Unfortunately there wasn't much seating available. My friends and I were lucky in that we snagged the two tiny tables with four chairs in the back. A thoughtful move was to serve the cake slices in to-go boxes. This worked out quite well since I couldn't finish my huge slice. The employees working were all helpful and friendly.  Doing a little research later, I found out that Oasis Cafe has another location in Eastern Queens. I would certainly try out more of their confections if in the vicinity of either location! read more

Got the raspberry mousse cake and mango cream cake. Both were great. The raspberry mousse was everything though - a layer of tart raspberry puree on top of raspberry mouse, which was on top of chocolate mousse and a thin layer of sponge cake. Highly recommend. read more

Very very very strong! Curious if the owners are Greek as when I ate the cakes and drank the cold brew it just gave me the strongest feeling as the quality here for a lot of items are so high. I got a cold brew, spinach pastry, and a carrot cake slice. Everything was super moist. Most surprised about the cold brew because I was expecting something super basic when actually the cold brew held it's own. I really enjoyed my oat milk cappuccino from Oasis Cafe! The large size was at a good price- it was $4+ (less than $5) for a large size with oat milk. I was happy with the taste of the coffee- smooth espresso & good ratio of milk:coffee! I actually enjoyed the cappuccino here more than a lot of the "artisan fancy" coffee places in the area. Service was quick and efficient. I did not try any of the baked goods- did not see too many vegan options. I think I saw 1 or 2 cookies labeled vegan but I did not ask as I was in a hurry! But would love to go back to see if there are more vegan pastries. Menu wise- they have a range of your typical espresso drinks like lattes, cortado, americano and also brewed coffee. They have a big case of pastries and if you have no dietary restrictions you should have lots to choose from! Can't speak to the quality of any of them. Overall, this is a nice addition to the area. I never say no to more coffee/ cafes! I would return for coffee there as I want to try their pistachio latte which I hope can be made dairy-free. read more

The cakes and pastries look wonderful. I've had a few things and, honestly, wasn't overly impressed. I'm not a huge pastry fan but every now & then I like something sweet. These didn't really hit the spot for me but they were fine. But I ordered the "new" Chicken Pesto Ciabatta Sandwich. Thought it looked good on the menu & pistachio pesto sounded interesting. Like the pastries, it looked better than it tasted. The sandwich was dry. In fairness, I opted out of the tomato but that was because they toasted the sandwich and then were going to put cold tomatoes on it AFTER it was toasted. But there wasn't really a lot of the pesto on the sandwich and the chicken was actually sliced processed chicken and not a piece of chicken as you would get normally in a panini. I thought this would be a great option to grab on my way home when I didn't know what I wanted to eat. I was wrong. I tried several times to attach photos of the sandwich but it won't attach. read more
