After we left the Floridian without even being acknowledged, I was on my way to Frank's Pizza when I remember Oasis across the street. We had a lovely old school greek waiter, I had the Greek salad w grilled chicken, my daughter had a waffle with a whole lot of stuff & baby boy had a burger. Boy were we satisfied. This place finds new and exciting ways to screw up their dishes, especially if you order take out. On three separate occasions, I have had this experience. Order grilled shrimp and you get breaded shrimp... You can't eat healthy here if you tried. They use low-quality ingredients - order a greek salad and their feta is low grade and the lettuce is wilted. Their baked potato skins deep fried in grease to the point that they're unrecognizable and the only choice of toppings is sour cream and cheese --there is no healthy variation of the dish available. Local Diner that has very good service and really good food. I've been coming here for a few years now and I've had pleasant experiences nearly every time. Most of the wait staff are very friendly, cordial, will share some laughs with you, and are generally on point with service. There was only one time I waited a long time for my food to come and that was because they were understaffed for the amount of volume they had that day. It's your typical diner selection of burgers, fries, apps, sandwiches, and various breakfast items, but nearly everything I've tried (and I like to try new things often) has been very good. Even some of the entrees like the various steaks are juicy and tender, which I did not expect out of a diner. My old mantra was "diners are only for burgers or eggs", but not here. Some of my favorites here include the specialty burgers, the "roman" chicken sandwich, any of the omelettes, and the buffalo chicken wrap or caesar wrap. Honey mustard is one of my favorite sauces and my only complaint is the honey mustard here is very liquidy, not creamy as it should be. read more

Hands down best diner left in Brooklyn! Whether I am eating in or having a delivery, the food is always consistent and tasty. It's your average diner food but it hits the spot when that is exactly what you are craving. The best part about this place is the service. Everyone is wonderful! I've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and happily have enjoyed all of my meals. This evening, my fiance and I shared the prime rib (cut calories and costs) and ordered and extra potato. The meat which was ordered medium rare came out with a juicy pink center and nice au jus. Offered a choice between soup or salad, we chose salad which was fresh and cool with beautiful tomato and red onion. The lovely chick pea salad that was offered to us, I included in my own green salad. The service was attentive and polite. Dessert and coffee were included, so we chose cherry pie, which was delicious and a bit more tart than the usual cherry pie you find around town. The back room is very pretty and conversations there are quieter than in the front portion of the restaurant. Parking is not a problem as long as you are willing to walk a block or two. read more

they suck at over the phone orders. last 3x times they have screwed up order. a cheeseburger isn't a chicken sandwich. i have been going here for years ordering for the past two years in last two months they suck at getting it right it's a f'ing chessburger with mushrooms not hard tonight was the very last straw i got chicken with some awful sauce and mushrooms instead of a cheeseburger. never ordering from here again read more

Solid neighborhood Diner. Setta is our favorite waitress, she is incredibly sweet and never messes up the order. We ask for her when we go in. A few times we got stuck with the older Greek man and he was pushy, got the order wrong and had the nerve to rush us out and took our bread away before we were done. No bueno. Try to get a female waitress and you're set. The busboys are awesome and they are always around serving coffee and checking up on the tables. The "higher up" staff seems a little rude sometimes and appear to be snapping at staff sometimes which isn't the nicest thing to see.. well onto the food- their matzo ball soup is so yummy and their wraps are always good. When we get in for an early breakfast the early bird menu is reasonable too. This is a go to place .. just make sure you assert yourself if you don't feel like your waiter is doing the right thing! Oh also in the morning they serve mini muffins with breakfast-- my favorite thing ever!! read more

I wouldn't know where to start with the not-so-good. Between the food and the server.. it was not the 4 star diner we expected.

Food is decent. Portions are okay. Pretty clean, bathroom is clean. Service is usually very good. rarely a waiter/ waitress is with poor attitude but It happens. Iguess everyone can have a bad day. read more

I can easily describe this place in just 2 words: EATING GOOD! It is not easy to find a diner that has 5 star quality food especially on busy days such as Saturdays. When I came here for a late breakfast , I got seated at a booth right away ,& the owner who greeted us was very friendly. I liked how breakfast was served all day, and the amount of wraps, sandwiches, burgers and omelettes to pancake platters are just endless. the waiter I had was very knowledgeable about the menu, he was friendly and served us very fast. I was able to substitute regular sausage for turkey sausage for just 1.25, and egg whites for 1.25 which is pretty reasonable. I like how healthy my food was , the home fries weren't greasy, my omelet was a good portion with feta cheese and green peppers, the turkey sausage was thick which is awesome and the amount of coffee refills with skim milk were unlimited. the whole wheat toast they gave me was the size of my head! the western omelet that my boyfriend had was also very large and filling, he enjoyed his thick hot chocolate too. I love how we didn't feel rushed when we ate , and the waiter always checked on us to see how we were doing. street parking was also not too bad in the area considering it was a busy weekend. I cant wait to come back here to try the rest of the menu! for a huge breakfast for 2, we paid 30 dollars which is very reasonable. read more

Where do I begin? This GEM has been bumped to my number 1 favorite diner EVER! From the sweet waitress to the man who takes payments (sorry not sure his position) however, this place reminds me of the show CHEERS everybody knows your name. They are very kind and they greet everyone who comes in. I truly am so happy I found this place. I live in jersey and when ever I am in BK this will be my go to spot every time. Thanks! After reading the reviews, I was expecting mini muffins. I guess they don't do that anymore since those reviews were from 2011. I was disappointed. I ordered a cheddar cheese burger, I got american cheese instead. And I'd expect pickles and coleslaw in a diner when you order a burger, but didn't get that either. I didn't complain. I just let it be even though it would have tasted better with cheddar and pickles. But they did get it correct when I asked for the burger cooked medium. But I think you really should get what you order without having to get it corrected. It's a simple thing. The waiter even wrote cheddar on the check. But I did like their coffee. It was nice and strong and in a nice size cup. I might or might not return. Maybe it was just an off day. read more

The food wasn't great and not to mention the service was horrible. I recommend nobody to go to this place! We just got back from a 5k race and we decided to eat here since it had 4 stars on yelp. We had this older fat red hair waitress who was absolutely horrible. Not only was she so rude and she had no costumer service etiquette. We were going to order dessert but her attitude was so nasty towards us we just ask for the check. My sister even heard mutter when she went to get her tab "See i knew they weren't going to eat all that fucking food". Really you couldnt wait untill we left to talk bs. As far as breakfast and brunch goes, Oasis Diner is perfection!!! Although the decor is a bit underwhelming, the friendly staff, mini muffins served complementary while you wait for your order well makes up for it. My son loves their chocolate chip pancakes and the western omelet is absolutely mouth watering. Even at peak hours and on the weekends the food and fast service is always on point. The take out brochure is so unorganized. If you call because you didn't get what you expected because some paninis (which are in a group) and a sandwich which is under SOUP KETTLE, be prepared to speak to an OLD RUDE WOMAN who will ARGUE with you. Went to "Lighting Palace" except we were too early so we ended up at Oasis for breakfast. What a terrific place!! Great coffee, complimentary fresh mini muffins, a waitress from another era! friendly, smiley,knowledgeable, praised the owners as "very good people" when I asked if they were Greek....... ...told us she just goes in once a week just to see people, been there for so many years,she can't give it up.:)......Food wise, our omelets were perfect and toast was warm!! and the place is spotless! If I could give this resturant a ZERO I would. If you read my previous reviews, just know NOTHING has changed. This place does NOT know the meaning of customer service. Yet again, we've been ordering frequently. The day crew, is very good. After my review of the egg plate I usually get, it has never been incorrect. But the night crew is something different. The woman who answers is EXTREMELY rude. She obviously does not care about the reputation of this resturant. Lately I've been ordering my USUAL, twin cheeseburger deluxe. Just know at every place I order burgers from, I get deluxes. EVERY SINGLE PLACE. Oasis included. So, I ordered two orders today. A twin bacon cheeseburger deluxe, and then a single bacon cheeseburger deluxe. Of course without fail, we get our order, with one order of fries. Mind you, it all came out to THIRTY DOLLARS. The twin bacon cheeseburger deluxe is about 15 dollars, so ADD a single bacon cheeseburger - HOW DOES THAT COME UP TO 30 DOLLARS? Nonetheless I was furious. We have given this resturant enough chances, we've called enough times, that you would think they would have our address memorized or atleast saved (which is what a resturant who cares about their customers normally does. Trust me I know, all of my work experience is in the food industry). So I have my boyfriend call back. The woman on the phone who took our order is very rude, not beliving my boyfriend to the point he has to say "I can take a picture of our order to show you that we do not have the two orders of fries we are deserved." So she says "OKay they're on their way." And guess what. THEY NEVER CAME. I dont care if it was 1030 when we called and you close at 11. If you had the order right the first time we wouldnt have this problem. I'm truly disgusted at the Oasis staff. We are VERY FREQUENT customers, we order multiple times a week, spend ALOT of money and for you guys to treat us this way was very disheartening. We will not be ordering again. According to the reviews I was expecting superior diner food and service. We popped in for a late dinner after the Electric Run and ordered burgers. My friend ordered the Mexican burger and it came with straight up raw jalapeños. I asked the lady if they could sauté them and she shot me a look and said "that's how they come" Uh. Hello. I know that's how they come so I'm asking you to cook and soften them a bit. Her lemon puss face was enough for me to say ok forget it whatever. I ordered the BBQ burger. Well, it's a meat patty with BBQ sauce and that's it. Asked for medium well got it overdone. If this place has 4 stars in this sort of area I can only wonder what the crappier places are like. read more

I came here when I was looking for a new diner in my area and read the great reviews. This place did not disappoint. We arrived starving and hungry like most for brunch and loved the muffins while we waited for our food. Service was great and the food was delicious. I really enjoy this place, the atmosphere takes me back as if I was in the 90s. This restaurant is always busy. Their is wonderful however for a dish that cost about $14. It's a big oversize meal, it can fill you up and leave you no room for dinner. The waitress/waiters are very kind and fill with energy that encourage to put a smile on your face. read more

The first time I ate there they gave us a bread basket half eaten taken from a previous customer and my salad had a lady bug in it. The only reason why I'm giving this place a 1 star is because the service was decent. I ordered a Belgium waffle with fruit and whip. I received my food and it had a bug in it! The excuse she gave me was the air conditioner broke and they had to leave the doors open. The doors weren't open nor was the AC broken, this is just a dirty establishment. My favorite diner in brooklyn! Ive been coming here since i was a kid. My parents would take me every saturday morning growing up. The food is average but the staff makes up for it. They are so friendly especially with kids. Whatever my kids wanted they gave them. Even a free huge cookie and ice cream! So thats always a plus!
