I tried this since I had a craving for Kababs, as I used to work near Burbank/Glendale, so I used to have Kababs occasionally for lunch. I ordered the Lamb Kabab plate, and the Beef Schwarma sandwich. The Lamb was great! Lots of flavor, and the hummus, pita and pickled veggies were very good. Got some Garlic sauce for the beef. Yummy! My new Go To place for Kababs!! I am looking forward to trying a roasted chicken, whole or possibly in a schwarma sandwich. read more

Love their chicken kabob plate. The garlic sauce is delicious as is the hummus. When I order the plate I don't want the salad as it usually doesn't get eaten so I ask that they leave it off, they always ask if I want more rice or hummus instead (yes!) which I appreciate. Oasis grill is a local family owned business in a nondiscript strip mall at Arrow Hwy and Sunflower in Covina, there is a big lots store close by. We have been going there for years and even use them for business catering. The food is always good and very fresh. The prices are fair and the service is good. Neither the place nor the food will knock your socks off but due to the lack of options in the area, sometimes it presents itself as the best option. The owner is rude and unprofessional. Upon ordering, I asked if I could have some hummus without extra oil on top. His response was, "Are you on a diet." I told him, "No, I always eat like that. I don't like extra oil drizzled on top of my hummus. I placed my order any way. I thought it was rude of him to ask if I was on a diet. When I was finishing my meal, I asked him how the fava beans were prepared. I thought I might order a side. He told me he didn't know and that only the cook knows. I thought that he was the owner and the cook since I saw him preparing some meals for other customers. I asked him, "aren't you the cook?" He said, "No, I'm the dish washer." I asked the person who was helping if he knew who the owner and cook was. He pointed to that same person who told me that he was the dishwasher. I realized that he didn't want to help me by answering my question. I'll never go back. Plus, it was very expensive for very small portions served. I prefer samsdeliandkabobroom.com in Monrovia. My family goes to this place once or twice a month. I usually get the chicken kabab plate. It is VERY good. The chicken is soft and tastes excellent (out of this world excellent). They cook it over a flame after you order it. The plate comes with rice, salad and hummus. The rice has a few peas and carrots in it. My son loves it. My wife and I think it is good. It is different than the rice you normally get at East Asian restaurants. It has more flavor. The salad is very lemony tasting. It has lettuce, red onions and cucumbers. The hummus is the best I ever tasted. Oh, they serve it with pita bread. The pita bread is not home made but is served heated up. I tried the stuffed grape leaves once. The taste is too powerful for most Westerners. They have Bubba Ganoush (not sure about the spelling). It is kind of like hummus but made with cooked eggplant instead of garbanzo beans. It is great. If you buy a half chicken plate you get a rotisserie chicken half. It has good flavor but is a little dry. Each meal also comes with some purple things they tell me are pickles. I don't like them. The garlic dipping sauce that comes with the chicken kabab plates is also very delicous. The restaurant is a little hole in the wall so it can get noisy when there are other people in there. I am a caucasion and have always been treated very nice in there. My wife is South Asian and also gets treated very nice. I don't know what that other poster experienced. The owner even jokes with me sometimes. I had them make a bunch of chicken kabab sandwiches for me for a super bowl party once. Everyone loved them. Overall 5 stars for the excellent food. read more
