Recently came here to watch one of the world cup games when I flew to STL for the holidays. OB Clark's is such a wonderful little establishment. Unlike other bars I've been to in other cities (where the floors always seem wet or dirty), it's clean, the food is good, and the service is awesome. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Definitely a plus as I had my infant entail. I'd recommend the dirty wings, pizza, and Caesar salad. I'm sure they have other great items on the menu but I was too stuffed to even try. read more

OB Clark's Restaurant is not only a great place to watch sports, it's also a great place to grab a lunch. We had been running errands and when we looked at the time, it was time to go to OB Clark's. They have specials every day during the week. We went on a Wednesday so the special of the day was pizza. He ordered a sausage pizza and it came with a side salad. I ordered the roast beef sandwich (dipped in gravy) and it came with a side salad. The salads were a good size and were very good. It actually had some shredded salami on top of it. I was able to try his pizza and that was good also. It has a very thin crust. My sandwich was outstanding and none of the fake roast beef. It was the real thing. He told me that on Thursdays the special was fried chicken. Hmm, I think I'll run my errands on Thursday the time. Would I come back here? Yes, I might try every day of the week. Time tested fantastic bar food. I highly recommend the barbecue steak burger. This is a big hamburger grilled to perfection, dipped in barbecue sauce with a vinegar based coleslaw all slammed into a fantastic bun. The fried mushrooms are also great. The pizza is even good. The service is terrible. I don't want to amount it to race but my server yesterday afternoon started out the gate rude and acted like it was a chore to refill our cups or take anything off the table. The ONLY reason I come to this place is because my brother & his wife like to eat here. However the service yesterday is absolutely disgusting in 2023. Food is decent which is why my brother likes to come. However next time I go in there and I'm treated like a common peasant I WILL make sure it's handled right then and there. read more

We seated ourselves and were approached right away. Mollie was attentive, checked back often and timely. We had lunch and beers. Two chef salads, chicken noodle soup and french onion soup. Wow, everyone was crabby, in here. Terrible attitudes from everyone working there. And well, yes, I'd be embarrassed to serve the food there, too. Our waitress was a total jerk the whole night. She slammed our drinks on the table. Carelessly slid plates and bowls across the table. Disappeared. The food was bad. I got chili and a side salad. The chili was flavorless, and it was less than warm, which is pretty gross. I asked if I could have hot chili, and I swear she was cussing as she walked away. I came in alone and was approached by a server who regularly helps me, she was shockingly rude and short with me and usually fairly nice (most likely due to tipping, I tip big as I used to be a server, like seriously on average 40-60%). My friend joined me and the server was so absolutely hateful to my friend, I was like whoa!!! I told my friend she must be having a bad day. It got worse, at least 3 more hateful incidents so bad that in my mind, I b-slapped her. My friend was paying and naturally only tipped her $5 instead of $10 because honestly she deserved NOTHING! Then this server came to our table and screamed, "This is it? $5 dollars? This is it? I wanted to tell her, she should have paid us for the terrible and demeaning experienc. Been awhile but finally made it back here. Beers were cold, dirty wings were awesome but the service was terrible. The waitress was not inept, she was just lazy and more interested in sitting at the bar drinking her energy drink and looking at her phone rather than take care of her guests. It's not rocket science. Check on us every 10-15 minutes. Check back 2minutes after our food is delivered do you can check on food quality, additional requests and drink refills. A cool, little, neighborhood sports bar that borders on "divey"....a little too dark for my taste, but who cares when they have excellent food. I tried the wings and roast beef dip. So good that I took more wings to go. To boot, the bartender's service was on point and that is something I seriously judge a place on, after spending almost 15 years in the food/beverage industry. This pizza is so good definitely one of the best places to get St. Louis St. Louis style pizza in the service is amazing. They have really nice prices and a lot of beer apparently. I always get their pizza before I go to the gym have a few slices and then I come back and look forward to finishing the rest off. Sometimes even even bring the pizza to the gym in a Ziploc bag. I haven't dug my teeth into the salad yet but I just know that I'm gonna love it and the ranch looks spectacular I'm wondering if it's homemade. The crust is sweet which is a really good thing I think it taste delicious. It's also really fast order pick up from so if you don't wanna spend too much money you want some good classic food and you need it really fast for some reason I would definitely recommend going here because it usually takes less than 20 minutes for sure. I live in Brentwood forest and I could basically walk there on my hands and if I still have my moped before it got stolen I could also use that. Never understood why OB Clarks's is always crowded- the pizza is just OK (at best), it's smokey (even in the non-smoking section) and the d-bag factor is usually pretty high. Then again, this is one of the only restaurants in Brentwood that stays open past 9 pm and its proximity to Brentwood Forest automatically makes this place succeptable to douchebaggery. Last night was no exception. Our waitress was especially uninterested in taking our order or getting us our tab. She was more concerned with having a smoke with her friends at the table next to us. The pizza was fine- nothing fab but I like how it comes out in a square pan. We finished off a large (which costs $1 more than a small) in less than 10 minutes. Smokers were crowding the back deck. Overall, weird dive/restaurant feel that makes me not sure what about the place. I think they are trying to be a "Dive Irish Sports Bar & Restaurant"... IDK. I've been frequenting OB Clark's for many, many years. It's a great local joint with smiling faces, decent standard bar food, at decent prices. There's a dude that has been serving here for some time... I think his name is John. He easily keeps up with the drunken crowds, and offers no frills, yet attentive service. Kudo's to you John. It's typical to hear someone that gets drunk enough yell out "Let's walk to Double D's to sing"... DD's is a karaoke bar just down the street. But I find myself wanting to go to OB Clarks to watch Blues games. They promote themselves as a Blues hockey bar. In fact, KMOX does a postgame show here on Saturdays when the Blues are at home. Hell, I've even seen a Blue or two drinking here. But when we stopped in this past Saturday to watch the end of the game, the Blues game was on the two worst positioned TVs (they have tons of TVs now). We ponied up to a table towards one end. The other TV's were showing college football. I get it... there was a pretty important college game on... Notre Dame vs FSU. However, the sound and center TV was tuned to the Nevada vs. BYU game. Who the hell cares about this game? ...and how do you call yourself a Blues hockey bar but give the home team second billing to out of town teams. OB's... I'll be back. I appreciate your neighborhood feel. I enjoy the calamity that is the weekend crowds here. Your bar food is good... this past time I got the blackened grouper and loved it. But your draw is that you are one of the few hockey bars in STL. Don't forget who your are and why people are coming in the door. I've been here twice, but it was a really long time ago. October 5, I went with friends for a late-ish dinner. We'd all been at a book-signing at the Brentwood Forest Clubhouse -- nearby. There were four of us. The place was jam-packed, parking was challenging. And there were "guys" outside monitoring parking. So, I asked, "Big party going on inside?" Answer: "No. About 25 off-duty cops are havin' a meal." Works for me. Ambiance was festive and loud. I was the first to arrive, so I snagged the only available table in the "dining room." It was a round for 5-6 persons. We were four. Who cares? We had a good server. She was friendly, knowledgeable and knew about the food. #1 got the open-face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. #2 got the open-face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. #3 got a patty melt with fries. I got a Reuben without bread and opted out of the fries for cole slaw. I'm gonna say this ONE TIME ONLY -- the servings are MASSIVE!!! To wit: the open-face roast beef sandwich was on a platter. Four pieces of Texas toast under two mountains of roast beef. In the middle of these mountains was a volcano of mashed potatoes. Everything was covered with gravy. It was a beautiful presentation -- for a family of four. My Reuben was spectacular, and the chef had the insight to serve the sauce on the side, so things didn't get soggy -- there not being any bread. That worked perfectly. I cut and dunked and ate. The meat was so flavorful and tender, melted cheese, tangy sauerkraut. And the sauce was a good combo for a perfect Reuben. The cole slaw was vinegar-based, so tangy and delicious with crunchy cabbage and carrots. That's what cole slaw IS. BUT, THIS COLE SLAW dressing took it over the top with a little more tang and a little more sweet. #3 got the short end of the stick. Her patty melt was a lot greasy, and the fries were uninspired. She offered me a fry, and I declined. All throughout this meal, our server was attentive, refilling beverages, and asking about the meal. I took home two more meals with my Reuben, sauce and slaw. I got somebody else's slaw, too, though I don't know how that happened. #1 and #2 took home enough food for the neighborhood. We had a delightful time. read more

I used to hang out here in my 30's. I'm 50 now and decided to return. Bad service always wrecks a meal. The waitress (tall blonde) needs to not just be nice when the bill comes. You can cop a smile when I ask for a refill or some more napkins. You can even acknowledge I've asked for a refill by saying, "sure I'll be right back" instead of turning on your heels and making me wonder if you even heard me. To the owner/manager or whoever the guy was that was stopping at tables asking how everything was. If you're going to do that, do it to the entire restaurant, not just 2 tables. I would have had something constructive to say. To the kitchen I say: when I order well done wings and they are perfect, and the next time I order them again the exact same way, and they come out with slimy soft skin, it bugs a girl. Good place for some cheap buckets of beers and tons of view of the game. The salad was standard stuff, which is fine. Blackened fish was "OK" from my tablemates. OB Clark's "restaurant" really isn't the place I go for food, but its a nice little joint for sporting events and beers, that's certain... Wne to lunch with a friend and she suggested OB's to meet. I arrived at 3:15 and had to seat myself (which is totally fine) but I dont think the server knew I was there. It took her a few minutes before she came by. The table next to me was another couple the lady seemed upset complaining loudly that her food was taking extremely long. The gentleman had his burger delivered but waited for the ladies food to arrive. The server came by a cpl of times to let them know that the pizza was coming that the kitchen was running slow. She came by to let me know she'd be back I told her to just bring me a drink that I was waiting on a friend. The table waited another 10 minutes and the food finally arrived. As a chef a burger takes longer to cook then a pizza but that's just my observation I know sometimes things can happen and th awww t could of been the situation. My friend finally arrived we ordered drinks and though the server seemed a bit in a hurry we asked her to take our food order as well. The wait wasn't excruciatingly long but it was a bit longer then I would expect being an off peak time. But once the food arrived i was very satisfied. The wings were excellent and the burger wa as good, my friend ordered pizza and I will say if you go to OB's and your not sure what to get definitely get the pizza!! It was awesome the crust was great and the toppings were not overwhelming but just right.for me it could of used a little more sauce but I'm a replant from NJ where pizza is a part of life for us.
