I used to live around the corner from here, and my roommate loved their donuts. I never went because work always seemed to have an endless supply of donuts, so I never went out of my way to get any. During the pandemic, with work from home, I've found myself getting donuts more than any kind other kind of takeout. OB Donuts did not disappoint. Yeast donuts were the fluffiest! During our few minutes inside perusing the donut selection, it was a constant in and out of regulars who ordered donuts and breakfast sandwiches. They definitely have a quick efficient system down. And unlike many businesses I have come across who are lax on their masks staying above their nose, everyone in the shop had a tightly secured mask. I'll be back! read more

I loved the Kona coffee flavor as it was mild yet rich in taste. I forgot how good coffee tasted with just cream and sugar. However, I wished they had flavored syrups. My croissant was very tasty. I had the number one with bacon, ham and asked for American cheese versus the Swiss. The croissant was buttery and delicious. The cheese muffin was very tasty yet there was not very much cheese butter dollop on top. Wish there would've been more cheese flavor in the middle. read more

If you are looking for donuts or baked goods in the OB area don't even hesitate. My boyfriend grabbed a box of assorted baked goods and every single one of them was outstanding. They're great sizes too, shareable so you can get a few, cut them up and try a variety. All super fresh and soft. We've been picking at them since we got them yesterday morning and they're still just as fresh today. OB donuts offered donuts for an event I attended and I chose a chocolate cake doughnut sprinkled with almonds on top. It had just the right amount of sweetness- the cake part was dense and frosting used was a dark chocolate. I found out later on that they are the same owners of OB noodle house! I was skeptical, as I've been by this small shop quite few times, and it didn't seem special, but I decided to try it. Best blueberry scone ever--chock full of plump berries! OB Donuts is a little gem in Ocean Beach! First off, it's affordable. 4 donuts cost my hubby and me $6. They have gigantic croissants, breakfast and lunch sandwiches that didn't exceed $5 and also sell bagels with cream cheese. They also share a private parking lot with surrounding businesses which is rare for a beach town. The service is outstanding, a little mom and pop shop who greet you with the most honest and biggest smile ever. My husband had the filled cronut, the apple fritter which he raved about and said it was nice and crisp on the outside but soft inside with little burst of apples throughout. Great local donut shop. Good variety. i come here generally for breakfast, they got a small breakfast menu where you can pick a bagel and your toppings. My favorite there: everything bagel with cream cheese, ham, tomato, cheese then they toast it and sprinkle with parsley flakes. I believe its called OB bagel. On a Friday I walked in to place an order for 3 dozen donut holes for a brunch party I was hosting for 20 people on Sunday morning. The owner asked me if I wanted to pay then or at pick-up, and I said pick-up. It's 9:30am on Sunday, I went in to pick-up my order, and they don't have it. They never made my order. They said I didn't "pay the deposit" that I was never told was required. Now I have 20 people coming to my house I am hour and I have to scramble to figure out a replacement. The woman at the counter became belligerent and made a scene in front of the whole restaurant when I was understandably upset. UPDATE: 23 minutes after I posted this review, the woman at the counter responded "funny" to my review, and then messaged me on Yelp pretending to be a customer who just LOVES OB Donuts so much and just wanted to let me know about their "deposit policy". Gave this place another shot. On my first trip, they ran out of bagels at 130pm on a Sunday which left me with a feeling of disappointment even a delicious apple cruller couldn't cure. Ended up back and finally tried the lox bagel and it was very good. Fantastic texture to the lox. They've redeemed themselves so I'm adding a star. I understand it's a small business but it was a bit ridiculous to run out of one of their main products so many hours before closing time. Loved the donuts. Made sure to try a few. The Apple fritter was amazing. Soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Wasn't too impressed with the raspberry filled, the filling tasted artificial but the overall quality of the dough was amazing for all the donuts. The donuts are premium quality and beautifully sweet. My personal favorite is the chocolate bar! BUT, my absolute #1 favorite food in the world is their breakfast sandwich, the #2. I was in the mood for a really good Bagel with Smoked Salmon and a friend of mine at work told me about this Donut Shop in OB that makes some really outstanding LOX. Anyways, I came here on a cold rainy Thursday morning, and ordered the ULTIMATE LOX. The dish had Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, thinly sliced Red Onions, Tomatoes, Capers and was served on a Bagel of your choice...I chose the Everything Bagel (cause that's my favorite.) My take: This was one of the BEST LOX's I've ever had. The flavors worked really well together and they didn't go skimpy...this was a pretty good sized meal. As for the service...the people that work here are extremely polite and I got my bagel pretty quick. That being said, I'm gonna come back soon to try out some of the rest of the Bagel Menu...and maybe buy some donuts in the process. 5 Stars!!! read more
