We came here for dinner with a group of 10 and Obaltan was able to accommodate us after a 20 minute wait. They offer some Combos, which made it easier to order as a large group. We got to try the Prime Beef Combo ($109.99) and Pork Combo ($76.99), which all includes kimchi fried rice and a soup for two. This was plenty of food for 5 people even though each combo was meant for 2 people. Of course we also added Corn Cheese ($19.99) and Gopchang Stew ($38.49). The stew was OK but cheese corn was so fresh, crisp and perfection. Everyone was stuffed by the end of the meal. The server also does a lot of the cooking for you, so that's nice.

If I could rate it 3.5 I would but ultimately I went lower because of the price. I heard great reviews of this place and a few friends from out of state were visiting so thought we tried this. The food itself is good, don't get me wrong, but for the price point you're paying for a seafood snack. We got the seafood combo for four people and some of the items only came with three (like three shrimp, scallop, mussels for the grill), which not sure why they did that but some of us couldn't try the other (not the biggest issue). I understand that seafood is expensive and we're paying for the service, but I thought there would be more flavor going into it rather than it just being grilled and served. I haven't gotten the barbecue so I can't say anything. The wait times are incredibly long so put yourself on the waitlist online or go super early. I would come try the other things but I wouldn't solely just come for the seafood imo.

I've been wanting to come here for a while. We got the beef combo. The beef is very great quality and I loved everything that came with the combo. We got steamed egg, kimchi soup, and a fried rice/egg combo on the grill which was super cool because they use a blow torch to cook the eggs. It was such a fun experience and I loved the way they put the meat on top of the onion/potato piece after every round. It made it so that the meat wasn't just sitting on the grill waiting to be burned. The servers were also very attentive and brought us a water refill when we needed it.

I'm pretty sure I could've trekked to Mordor and back in the time it took me to get to Obaltan on a Friday night, but ugh, it's fine, whatever. Mordor doesn't have grilled clams, right? Anyway, come here to feast on the Clam Gui Combo, which gives you an ocean's worth of the briney mollusks + an assortment of other seafood bites for $52...for two people! Seriously. I don't think you'll find a better clam deal unless the city of Boston knocked on your door and offered itself for free. Other good bites: Kimchi Pajeon, large and crispy. And Boodae Jjigae, when you need sausage ramen stew to warm your insides. If I can get a giant eagle to fly me here, I'd totally come back.

Really GREAT seafood! The BBQ was so fresh!! Excellent service and a great place for a leisurely dinner! A definite spot to bring people to that definitely won't dissapoint

Easily my top 5 favorite bbq spots of all time! Only problem is it's located in New Jersey! Need to have one in NYC! Staff were super attentive and quick on service! All the banchan were top noch! Best marinated galbi I've ever had!!!

Came here late at night craving gopchang and didn't want to go into the city, so this Fort Lee location was a convenient choice. We ordered the beef intestine combo with large intestine, small intestine, tripe, and rice cakes. The assortment was generous and easily enough for two people. The intestines were properly cleaned and grilled, with no off smells, and the tripe had a nice chew. Rice cakes were a good addition and grilled well. We also ordered the seafood pancake, which was surprisingly good--crispy on the outside and soft inside, not overly greasy. Overall, portions are large and satisfying, especially if you're specifically craving Korean-style beef intestines late at night. Prices are on the higher side, but that's expected for this type of restaurant. Solid option in Fort Lee.

THIS PLACE IS FIREEEEE!!!!! I will genuinely go back tn if someone could go with me. The meat was quality, the banchan was fresh, the service fast. The ambiance Clean casual and busy!

This is truly a hidden gem. My experience with Korean BBQ started in Koreatown in midtown manhattan. For the past decade it's been a similar experience wherever I go UNTIL my visit to Obaltan. This was different in 2 aspects; 1) they offered shellfish, and 2) the cooking surface was a deep pan instead of the raised dome grill which I was used to. In fact at the end of the meal, they made a fried rice with the seasoned pan that was delicious! However, ALL of the food was delicious, and the service was friendly & attentive even though we were close to closing time. This is a MUST if you're in the area!!! (Plus on the weekends it seems that they do karaoke upstairs!)

    We liked this combo, too.

We came to this location to celebrate a birthday. The decor is nice, the service is great, and the food was delicious! My personal favorites are the cheesy corn, the rice cakes, prime rib, and fried rice. We will be back for more!

Def a place better for a group of 6, esp if you want to try live clam grills. The portion is just quite large. Overall very good besides a group of 4 we each had to eat 5 clams Spicy Stir Fried Pork & Vegetables - good but didn't know there's a lot of rice cake in the dish as well should have be indicated. Spicy Bai-Top Whelk With Vegetables & Chewy Noodles - it's a cold dish, very spicy good flavor. Make sure you sign up waitlist beforehand as the store is small.

Good spot for Kbbq in the Fort Lee area. Not busy on a Saturday night, July 4th weekend, fresh ingredients, good service, (Owen is the bestest! - great attitude, attentive). We had the prime beef and seafood special. Definitely more than enough food for 3 people.

This is a kbbq restaurant that's extremely seafood oriented as well! We didn't wait too long for our reservation, which was during busy hour (7:00pm on a Saturday). We ordered the clam combo, which came with the seafood Casino on the side. Also, we got an army stew and corn cheese, both of which were very good compliments to the main course. This is a good spot for couples, but it also is accommodating to larger parties as well. We did a hike and were able to properly refuel after. Definitely recommend and I can't wait to try the meat combo next time.

The "banchan" side dishes were fresh and savory with continuous refills. They provided us with appetizer of the two types of "jeon"s - when was seafood and one was kimchi. I ordered the super sized "galbi tang" (갈비탕 - Short Rib Soup). I say "super sized" as it's quite larger in quantity than any I have ever had in any restaurant! . They had already pre-sorted the meat from the bones which usually are included in this particular dish. The amount of meat was incredibly abundant and absolutely savory and soft to chew. The meal was so big that I packed most of it to go and it sealed up almost to the top of a quart container! Other guests tried the "oohguhgi galbi tang" (Short Rib Cabbage Soup - 우거지 갈비탕) and "bibimbap" (Mixed Rice with root vegetables - 비빔밥) which looked delicious and ample in quantity as well. It's a small shop with few seatings and tables. It's street parking for the most part. Once inside i can tell that it was authentic Korean restaurant as there were other korean customers and all the signs and decorations were in Korean language. The owner came out and took our order We got a spicy octopus plate, soy marinated crabs, and scallion pancakes. They offer side dishes first which is a common practice in Korean restaurants. The side dishes were all flavorful and looked like home made pickled veggies and kimchis. Scallion pancakes had lots of seafood and was tasty. Spicy octopus plate was ok a stone plate and its got nice char and crispy rice at the bottom with spicy and sweet octopus. The soy marinated crabs were flavorful but was difficult and messy to eat because the you have to de shell the crab and doesn't have a lot of meat. The owner also gave us egg dish complimentary which was a nice gesture. It was kind of like an omelet. Service was good and owner was nice. Overall it seems like a good authentic Korean restaurant in the area. Was not too crazy about the soy marinated crabs but i'm sure it's of standard. I'm glad i got to try the dish though.
