This was my first detailing, I contacted a bunch of places via Yelp and they responded the quickest. I didn't realize they were mobile! They were flexible and really tried hard to work with my schedule. They made sure they walked me through what they were going to do and when they finished, walked me through what they did and found and made sure I was completely satisfied. Visiting from Phoenix and needed an oil and filter change. Made appointment on the phone for the next day and they were ready for me upon arrival. Service was performed as promised in less than 30 minutes. While paying, they pointed out a leaking seal on my right front wheel that is covered under my vehicle warranty. I was so happy to find this place. I live in Irvine and came to this place because the first 2 places that I called couldn't accommodate me that day. I needed a smog check and an oil change and I needed to get it done that day. When I called OC Auto Care I was told that I could come in an hour and they would have me out of there in about 30 minutes. I drove in and as soon as I pulled up he knew who I was. I got out of the car and sat in their little waiting area and watched the news while they were doing what I needed to my car. The owner and I were chatting and he was extremely friendly as well as the rest of the staff. He came over and told me he checked everything in my car and that everything was in great shape. He said that if I continue with my oil changes regularly then my car still has a lot of life in it. (Its a 2005 and has 150+ miles) He told me not to forget the oil changes like his sisters always do because they seem to think they never need to change the oil. Waise and his cousin offers great customer service, definitely not your typical mechanic shop. I first called to ask a few questions and Waise took his time to answer all my questions. His professionalism really was more than I get at some restaurants! I brought my car in, he took care of the items and even showed me the broken part that needed replacing. There was another item that I was sure was broken and he said it was fine and didn't need fixing. His prices are fair and he really goes the extra mile. Over the weekend, my LS460's VSC/ABS/Brakes check lights all came on so I took it in today. Willy immediately worked on it, did a diagnosis and explained to me the issue is most likely a SW issue. After SW reset and test drive the lights are off and problem is fixed with no charge. This was not the first time I used OC Auto and every time I feel I can completely trust the shop for their honesty and technical skills. I feel luck I have a local shop I can rely on. read more

On my way into work yesterday morning, my 2002 Trailblazer started lurching and my check engine light blinked off and on about 4 times. This is a really bad sign, just google it and you'll see you're not supposed to drive it anymore if this happens. I live in Long Beach, but I work in Irvine, so I had to find a place close by to take my truck since I couldn't drive it all the way back home. I took it to Car Tech and although they properly diagnosed it (as later affirmed by OC Auto), they wanted to charge me $892, over $500 of that being labor, to fix it in addition to $96 they already racked up to diagnose it. I couldn't possibly come up with that kind of money. I called OC Auto and explained what happened. They told me over the phone what the diagnosis was before I ever mentioned Car Tech and quoted me $403 out the door. $120 for the "kit" necessary to fix a valve cover gasket, spark plugs, and rubber coil boots and 5 hours of labor. Moral of the story, THIS PLACE IS NOT TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF LIKE SO MANY OTHERS. My only regret is not calling them sooner. read more

Went here after reading the reviews posted here on yelp, and was not disappointed. Was looking to get a smog check done at a reliable place at a reasonable price. I got both of that there. I called other locations who quoted me approx $60.00, however I was out the door with everything for $43.00 and with great customer service. It only took 15 minutes and they electronically sent the paperwork needed for DMV, i was able to go to AAA and them pull it up, 15 minutes after I left. Great experience. These guys are simply the best. Took my 2006 Miata in, after being to three other mechanics, for an engine knock. I pretty much figured it was going to need a new motor but I figured I'd have these guys check it out. They did every possible test to see if the engine could be saved but it would have been a higher cost in labor to fix it rather than replace it. Manny, Waise, and the guys there were very quick about finding a good replacement and kept me up-do-speed every step of the way. My car was finished before I even expected it to be and they let me know the minute it was done. These guys genuinely care about their customers, a few times they stayed open a little later so I could come by after work and get an update on the progress of my car and truly went out of their way to help me with the cost. Took my truck back to OC Auto when it had a problem with transmission (manual). I was thinking we'd need a new flywheel or master clutch. Even the mechanic thought it was going to be this after driving it. Estimated cost $400. He put it up on the rack and said the camshaft was loose. He tightened it up - total out of pocket $80. I am writing this review because this was my second time here and I wanted to share my experiences. We are new to this area so we were looking for an auto mechanic that we could get fair prices on service and honest auto advice. So with my first time here I received a oil change and the service was great and price was very competitive. I waited and watched while they did the service and was pleased with the care taken. Once the car was finished they informed me on the recommendations that they felt were due. I was happy with the honesty and no pressure advice. The services that were suggested were things that I had needing to do for a couple months but had been put on the back burner. (I am not normally like that) I didn't know when I would be able to make it back in so I didn't schedule an appointment that day. For the follow up I called two days prior and they fit me in with my busy schedule. They quoted a great price and the time the car was said to be done was prompt. I left my car there for the work that needed to be done. They called me right on time and when I got there they didn't try and change the price or any of the shady stuff I am used to when taking my car somewhere. Great find! The owner is a young guy who really seems to know his stuff! The best part is that he has Saturday and Sunday hours. I called around for prices on smog checks and one quoted me $60 plus certificate! Really? This guy, out the door was $28 and he changed a brake light for free! Highly recommend.
