I call and got an estimate to change my tires and alignment for 250$ when I sent my tires to there location from tire rack and then took the car there he said 320$ after telling him you gave me an estimate for 250$ he said I'll give you 20 off I said fine Then he said I have to add 3.50$ fir each tire that I will recycle so your total is now 323$ Non of his numbers made sense so I simply took my tires back and took them to American tires and paid 220$ total It's not so much of the money it's the principle of how people do business read more

I was visiting Irvine from Arizona and my alternator went out the day I was supposed to drive back home. Called first thing in the morning and they squeezed me in. Mason is AMAZING!! Someone at work saw my tire was a little flat so I took my American tire depot after work to get it checked out. They were kind enough to check my tires to see if it had to be filled and they saw I had a nail in it. They close at 6 and wouldn't take me so they told me to come back tomorrow but I'm not going to drive 30 miles home and 30 back! That's so dangerous. So I found Nick's auto service and I gave them a call and Mason picked up. I told him I would be there in a few min and asked if he would take me and he said yes! He was already there to greet me. I been there 3 times about same issue in 7 weeks. First time I paid $160 diagnose my check engine light,and they charge me $750+ to repair.Looks like they just delete the OBD code.Then after 3 weeks, check engine light on again.So I drive back for my second visit, they charge me $160 again for "double check" and I paid $500 to "double repair" that because they said Even the same situation happened in 2 weeks but it's different thing. Fine,I trust them again.And after sencond visit 3 weeks, check engine light on a third time.I driving back, cause they promiss to give me a "free diagnosis".It's ture,they didn't charge me. Then they do nothing and told me need to back to dealer because they "can't fix it". So I paid $300 for diagnose twice and $1000 to repair nothing ,then get some advice that need to back to dealer. Brought my car here because it was the closest thing. They gave me a call and told me roughly $600, which went up to ~$1800 overnight and then, surprise, ~$3000 the next morning when I was expecting to pick it up. Each time led to think it would be fine. Declined the last one and they still charged me more than the agreed quote. Didn't have any confidence in them and my car friend told me they were overcharging some stuff and told me to get out of there since I was feeling pressured. The service was exceptional, with constant communication throughout the process. And, the actual technician, called several times to discuss what actions were recommended to remedy our situation, progress reports, and also worked directly with our warranty insurance coverage company. In addition, the owner stayed late the day of service so that we could pick our vehicle up....with start to finish being in less than 6 hours from our initial call for help. Probably the worst place I chose for an emergency car repair... had an alternator and battery go out. First red flag: the guy at the desk accidentally hands me a receipt for a $160 dollar diagnostic. I said this seems a bit high, and he immediately says "oops, thats the wrong one." OverCharging customers on accident is a huge red flag. Then, they run diagnostic ($115) which is already way over industry average, and say that they need to replace the battery in my car. My car is a 2007 lexus es 350, and just a simple google search will tell you that $220 for a battery replacement is way too high. For the alternator + battery, they quoted $1400. $678 for labor, $370 for the parts, diagnostic fee, then the battery. Labor for alternator is demanding, but tanaka motors and greensky motors will give you the same service for $300~$400 dollars. I just don't understand why everything is overpriced here, they also kept telling me that if I start the car with the alternator shorted, it could cause a fire. I just turned it on and drove it off to another auto shop without any problems. Last but not least... they really charged me $35 to install the battery. After paying and getting to my car which had its hood open, I just lifted the battery out of my car. What did I even pay for? Why should I have to go and ask again, saying the battery isnt installed when I already paid for a completed service? TLDR; Overcharging auto shop, expect prices to be 1.5 times more expensive than the highest industry average pricing. Ripoff. read more

They also replaced my belt. It's been about 3 weeks since they've worked on my car and it runs good as new! I called nicks auto service to have some work done on my 2020 ram 1500. Spoke with Mark over the phone to schedule an appointment and was very pleased with the amount of kindness and professionalism. After arrival I was greeted by the owner and 2 other staff members all whom were incredibly kind. They all teamed up to remove the wheels and tires that I had brought in for install and wouldn't even accept my help. My new wheels and tires were flawlessly installed and the team kindly helped me load my original set into my truck bed. I have used them for multiple cars, multiple matters. It was kind of a rush so I was not able to change providers quickly enough. They offer a curious blend of stupidity and incompetence. Almost literally everything they did was a fail. From not doing things they were supposed to, doing it incompetently, and breaking stuff. After multiple fails, I went elsewhere and found not only did they not fix the part they were supposed to, they broke another part. Long story short: the steer of my car wasn't working and I had it towed to Nick's Auto Repair that was closest AAA auto repair approved. It is an old car and I told them to let me know how much was the damage. They called me back and says that it was 550 dollars to fix it. I accepted and went the day after to pick up the car. 95 dollars were Diagnose Fee. The same day the engine was steaming hot after just few miles. Brought my car to another auto repair and it turned out that the radiator is blown out too. I called them back, explaning the situation and they told me that the car was ok after they fix it. Stay away, a total ripped off! I paid 550 dollars on an old car and it was broken again the same day I got it back! read more

I took my car in to Nick's after being told by another mechanic that my car needed a new transmission which was going to cost me upwards of $5000. I was very fortunate to have been recommended Nick's auto service by a colleague of mine and decided To take my car in and have them check it out. These guys have to be the most honest mechanics I have found since I started driving more than 15 years ago. Chavez took a look at my car and figured out that all I needed was a new transmission mount which only cost me $500. Not only did they save me money, they were very upfront about what other repairs needed to be done and what could be held off until I can get around to fixing them. This review is for a few months back. My 4WD truck needed 4 new ball joints, new pitman arm and an alignment. I had started doing this project at home and ran into a lot of problems simply because my lack of air tools. Nicks Auto Service was the closest and I didn't want to have to tow my now failed project far. I called and spoke to Nick who gave me a fair estimate and time quote. After dropping it off they got to work on my truck. They had originally quoted 2 days but it ended up taking 3. This was no problem as I understood it was a lot of work. I appreciate their honesty in telling me what was happening rather than slapping it together just to meet a time quote. After picking it up with the new parts and alignment completed, I inspected the work myself. It was completed correctly and cleanly. I find a lot of these complaints about Nicks auto or any auto service places are because people do not understand that cars are complicated expensive machines. Parts and labor cost money from certified people. Overall, Nicks auto was fair and honest every step of the way and I trust the work they did. read more

Alright where do i start. the front desk guy was super nice and just doing his job. the people behind all that suck and will scam you if your a women especially !!! my car was having engine issues and the closest place to me since i moved to tustin was nicks auto service. i go there and they tell me itll be about $900 to fix. which i think is reasonable for a engine problem. but then when i left with my car after they "fixed it" my engine light went off again about 3 days after and i call them to see if they can check it out and when they do they say its a different engine problem and it would be $700 on TOP of the $900 i just paid ... im literally so irritated and stressed at this point. so i go to pick up my car to take it elsewhere and when i do, one of the mechanics with the receding hairline and buzz cut just comes to throw my keys on the desk w a cranky ass look as if he didnt just scam $900 out of me to begin with. so i risked my life n drove it to where i used to live KO automotive. and they fixed it no problem $400. its been 3 months since the incident and no engine problem. when they see this please dont contact me or reply back "im sorry u had this experience" bs. im just warning other people about your lil shop. they wanna say we all have daughters and wifes yet still charged nearly 1,000 for a engine repair that still made my engine light go off after. and tried charging me $700 still after when i told them the light was still on. read more
