I've been a loyal customer here for many years and have ordered this entrée many times, which is why this experience was so disappointing. The manager's response focused on counting how many chips were burnt rather than acknowledging the overall quality issue and customer experience. Being told this dish is a "#1 seller" and has been made the same way for 8 years doesn't change the fact that this particular order fell well below the standard I've come to expect. Consistency matters, and on this occasion, it missed the mark. I also wasn't asking for a refund, I simply wanted to enjoy an entrée I know can be made well. Being offered a $5 credit on a $19 item, and being redirected to DoorDash instead of having the concern properly addressed, felt dismissive rather than customer-focused. If this is how feedback from long-time customers is handled, it's concerning. Unfortunately, this response reflects poorly on the direction of customer service here and has made me rethink returning. This was the managers response: Hello,  Sorry you were not happy with your order. This looks like 3 or 4 browned chips. The chips and the cheese are toasted before the toppings are added and occasionally a few chips will brown/toast. This is how they have been making them for 8 years and they are still our #1 seller. None of the topping ingredients are put in the toaster so it's only the chips and the cheese that might brown a little sometimes. Browning does happen occasionally and is normal. I was informed that Doordash gave you some credit. We have no control over doordash payments or credits so you must deal with them directly. If you order on our website or app we have more control over refunds.  If you choose to order again, what you can do is make a note to the kitchen not to toast the nachos but it will be different. After seeing my response this is what he emailed next: OK, well not sure what you wanted but you did get a refund from DoorDash and an apology from us. But after that review, obviously you won't come back and that's just fine. Thank you. This is really sad and you pay your money and this is the response for trusting an establishment, I don't think is good customer service. read more

I wish I had known Ocado existed when I lived in Sherman Oaks! My boyfriend and I first discovered it during Dine LA week. We're not vegan, but we're always open to trying new foods. Ocado blew us away during our first visit. We ordered the spicy nachos, the Szechuan chikun lettuce wraps, the no-crab cakes, and the chimichurri fries. Everything was a 10/10, including the service! We left completely satisfied and thought that we have to bring our vegan friends here. And so we did a month later! This time I tried the garlic noodles and the chimichurri tacos, which I fell in love with. Our friends enjoyed their meals just as much. For Friendsgiving this year, my boyfriend and I wanted to switch things up from last year, so we reached out to Ocado for catering, and Brennan T. was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. All of our friends loved the food, and Friendsgiving was a total success. Ocado has definitely become one of my favorite spots now. Highly recommend! read more

This place is AAAAHHHHHMAZING!! I'm not vegan so I felt skeptical, but wow, I'm very impressed. Let me start off with Britt. She was our server and she was so wonderful! Super helpful, very kind, even showed us a picture of her sweet baby named Harry who recently crossed over the rainbow bridge. And then she gave us a slice of their decadent chocolate cake to celebrate my daughter getting her job! Outstanding service. We sat outdoors, on the patio which was relaxing and a chill vibe mixed with all the LA magic lol. I ordered the Churro French toast, tater tots, and Bruschetta. I inhaled everything almost licking the plate. The French toast had a delicate light crisp to the outside while being soft and almost doughy inside. I wasn't crazy about the dipping sauce but it was a nice change from regular syrup. The Bruschetta was so freaking delicious!!!!! The toast was toasted perfectly and slightly chewy which is what sourdough should always be like. It was hard to eat because the tasty tomato's wanted to fall off but that's the deal with something so delicious. Definitely don't order that for a first date though! lol! Honestly, I loved it here and will definitely be back. Had my vegan daughter not taken me here I would never have tried it to be honest. But I'm definitely coming back. O'cado is one of those vegan restaurants that even your non vegan friends will love and secretly or not so secretly go back to. Their food is bomb...especially their jackfruit nachos! Truth be told I did not like jackfruit before I tried their nachos. I've had jackfruit at other restaurants and it would be mushy, watery and blegh. But for some reason I took a chance at O'cado and tried their nachos and whoaaaa they were hands down the best nachos I've ever had. Now I order them every time I go. Other favorites on the menu are their chimichurri fries, muhammara dip, impossible tacos, jackfruit tacos and their O'cado burger. Now I'm not much on ordering desserts mainly because I rarely have room for them but on one visit they had spumomi ice cream! Do you know how difficult it is to find vegan spumomi ice cream? If you answered extremely you'd be correct. Since becoming vegan 7 years ago I've never seen it and it used to be my absolute favorite. So of course I had to order and of course it was mind blowing, happy dance good. I'm still hoping they put that on their regular menu. The overall vibe of the restaurant is open and airy with about 5 or 6 tables inside and about the same amount on their front patio. Parking...there's a garage right around the corner or you may be able to find street parking. Out of the dozen times or so times we've been there only had to park in the garage once. Obsessed with Ocado!! I come here all the time because thankfully it's so close to my home! This is my go to valley vegan restaurant because the food is top notch and they even have a now daily happy hour! My favorites will always be the Mac and cheese and nachos but I have loved every single item I've ordered. I recently just tried the "chicken" lettuce wraps and loved the seasonings and spices on them! I also am so happy they've changed up the menu as it's given me more to explore. My go to drink here is the espresso martini and it's so rich, creamy and decadent! It's way better than any espresso martini I've gotten anywhere else and is so reasonably priced! I love how there's always a drink deal going on too! The service is so friendly and helpful and the ambiance is so cozy and comfortable. Even the outdoor seating is nice and secluded from the busy Ventura blvd. There's always ample street parking in the area too. I'm excited to see they have a brunch menu now and I'm dying to try it one of these weekends! read more

It's hard to put into words why exactly, but O'cado is the type of restaurant that makes me feel at home. Maybe it's the warm presence of the staff or the menu packed with plant-based comfort food, but every time I come here I never want to leave! I stopped by most recently on a Friday night and was pleased to see the restaurant buzzing with customers dining both indoors and on the outdoor patio-- it was definitely busy, but my partner and I were still seated right away which is always a treat. We started off with their brussel sprouts appetizer which really impressed me-- they come charred and marinated in a balsamic brown sugar glaze which give them the perfect amount of sweetness. The portion doesn't seem particularly huge when you see it, but they're so decadent that we almost struggled to finish the whole bowl. I'm already dreaming of when I can order them again. For my entree I went with the artichoke basil pesto pasta which comes with perfectly al dente penne tossed in house made pesto and topped with sun dried tomatoes and pine nuts. Although this meal is simple, much like O'Cado itself it's the simplicity that brings me so much comfort. The portion size may not look like anything special but O'Cado has truly mastered the art of a hearty meal. I've never ended a visit with an empty stomach! My partner ordered the impossible tacos which I didn't get a chance to try but I did steal a few fries so I could taste the aioli they're served with... soooo good! So basically, this spot is one of my favorites. Sure, half the reason for my fondness is because it's a vegan paradise, but there's just something about the vibe here that's so inexplicably cozy. Plus, I hear they have a really great happy hour deal (extended happy hour Mon-Thurs from 6:00-9:00pm!!!!) and if you've got a sweet tooth they have a pretty packed dessert menu as well. I had wonderful Crispy Potato Tacos. My friend loved her Smokin Boss Burger. The French fries at another table looked wonderful. With my tacos I had "Tomato Bisque" as a side. It was not a bisque, but a watery tomato soup. No creaminess. Not great. I ordered the Apple Pie Cheesecake for $14 for dessert. Wish I had taken a photo. It came in a teen tiny little cast iron pan and was less than an inch thick. The crust was tasty. The cheesecake and apple topping was very skimpy and not rich at all. Just sugary. I would not recommend that dessert. Service was kind and friendly. read more

A friend I had not seen in awhile and I were planning a dinner Monday evening, and unfortunately the first spot we picked to try (El Cocinero) is closed Monday's. My friend had been here not too long ago, and left wishing she had tried their vegan tacos, so we agreed on this spot. Good thing - because they boast "Monday Margaritas." Located off of Ventura Blvd in the Sherman Oaks area, there's plenty of paid parking (lots and metered), as well as ample unpaid street parking on the residential streets, if you're willing to walk a bit. I arrived first and was seated right away; they were not too busy, and accommodated my desire to sit outside. Unfortunately, we had just missed their Happy Hour (3-6 pm Monday-Friday - but there are extended Happy Hours for sitting at the bar area inside, from 6-9 pm). Service was friendly, and attentive. To start, we ordered the gluten free Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower. I ordered the Spicy Margarita (not pictured) at the recommendation of our server, and my friend ordered the Fentiman's Rose Lemonade. While gluten-free, the Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower lived up to its name, and didn't lack crunch; it was well-seasoned, and served with their o'cado ranch and hot-sauce. We completely devoured them! I enjoyed my margarita, it was sweet, citrusy, and spicy, and overall well-balanced. My friend enjoyed her rose lemonade. For our entree, we opted to share the taco platter, which comes with two of each type of taco: - The Street Taco, which is made with jackfruit, salsa verde, cilantro and onion, and resembles carnitas tacos in look, and taste. (One of my favorites.) - The Impossible Taco, which resembles a carne asada taco in look and taste. (This one was just okay for my personal taste.) - The Cripsy Potato Tacos, which were fried closed, and resembled an empanada, but not cooked the same. (I enjoyed this one.) - & the Avocado taco, which was my personal favorite. They deep fried the avocado, in a batter that seemed to resemble the buffalo cauliflower, and topped it with a slaw. All the tacos were served with a spicy cilantro lime cream. Tip: my friend found the sauce really spicy, so do a taste-test before dipping, or dumping some on! We opted to skip dessert, because we wanted to make our way to Paradis - walkable and just down the street - which offers both vegan and non-vegan ice-cream options, as well as games like Connect 4 and Giant Jenga! after hiking with a friend at wilacre park, we decided to eat at this vegan spot. it is located where the habit used to be in ventura. they transformed this place quite nicely into a cozy dining experience. it was not that busy when we arrived and decided to eat outside since the inside dining area seemed pretty desolate. because the restaurant is located on one of the busiest streets in the valley, outside dining could be loud with random sirens and cars speeding by. i got the potato tacos with a side of soup. the food was great! service was also friendly and our server was very attentive. parking was easy. we opted for free parking in the neighborhood as we didn't mind some extra steps. read more

Vegan restaurant in a fun area on Ventura Bl. Easy parking at 6pm on a Sunday.. . I quickly found parking at a meter just behind the restaurant. Other options included a pay parking lot across the street. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty and we had our choice of seating indoors or on the outside patio. We chose to sit inside and enjoyed the relaxed and fun atmosphere. Modern wood accents and ceiling fans gave the restaurant an earthy vibe... think farmhouse meets industrial. The menu had a nice selection of vegan options. We chose the Brussel Sprout appetizer and the Boss Burger and BBQ Sliders for entree. The Brussel Sprouts arrived almost as fast as we ordered them. The entrees arrived shortly thereafter. Presentation was simple but nice. Portion size seemed to be on the smallish size. The sliders were delicious! I had no idea jackfruit could be so tasty. The Boss Burger was a good combination of textures which made it very good. To close the meal, we chose the lemon tart but learned they were sold out. We settled for the MADAME SHUGAH'S PEANUT BUTTER LOVER ICE CREAM CAKE which was perfectly sweet with a good cookie texture sprinkled on top. Service was good.
