O'Cado never disappoints. Even my meat eating dad can get down on it! Their menu has all sorts of delicious small bites/appetizers like the brussel sprouts, chimichurri fries and NACHOS!! My favorite. The cashew queso is absolutely delicious and the grilled jackfruit is so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Definitely a great dish to share with a few people! I've had tried the BLTA sandwich in the past and really enjoyed it, but I've heard the impossible burger is where it's at. I've got to say, it was AWESOME! I enjoyed the bacon on it a lot more than I thought I would. It was so big and juicy, I almost couldn't finish it. Almost... While they don't have a very extensive wine list (I think they used to have a bigger one), the few options they have are good quality. As far as ambiance, I really enjoy sitting on the patio outside. Me and my daughter Found this gem walking down Ventura searching "what to eat". It is such a beautiful place, the bar area had some cool decor. Such a cool vibe this restaurant has from the moment you enter. We never had "plant based" food that was so delicious. We were both surprised because we've gone to other places both in NY and LA and the food always tasted funny/weird but not here at all! The burgers and bacon actually tasted like burgers and bacon; the waffle fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection and my drink the "Rosé Petal" was a nice compliment to my meal. I've eaten here at least 20 times, half of which were my husband and I bringing people who are decidedly NOT vegan. Every single time it has been amazing. (We are also not vegan, but I'm gluten and dairy free). Highlights: the nachos are a MUST, as is the buffalo cauliflower. The Greek, Caesar and Wedge salad are fantastic. The potato tacos are great to share (4 is too much fried potato for one person). The soups are DELISH. Buddha bowl is great if you're looking to eat hearty and healthy. Early in the year we had eaten here and my review was somewhat harsh. There were changes made at the restaurant and I was asked by the manager Brandon to give them a 2nd chance. I said of course. We recently went back to celebrate my birthday. They did not disappoint!! All 5 of us enjoyed our various meals and drinks. The staff were outstanding with their service. And Brandon surprised us with a piece of chocolate cake all lit up with a sparkler for me. That was above and beyond. The cake was super moist and delicious. I am normally not a chocolate cake fan, however this was amazing. I have to give credit when it is due. We also shared a lemon tart. I had this before and it was just as amazing as the first time. I am glad we gave the 2nd chance. We plan to return in the future. Thank you Brandon and staff for helping make my birthday celebration special. read more

Having gone here multiple times I can say that Ocado has some of the most flavorful food in the area. Everything from the wraps, burgers, and bowls tastes fresh and the portions are great. Service is quick and the staff here is incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend their bbq chickun salad wrap, tomato bisque, and their Korean beef bowl. read more

I went to O'Cado with a friend. We were very excited. I'm vegan and my friend is vegan leaning. We are always excited to support vegan businesses. The overall experience was lackluster. Our waiter was inattentive. We had to ask several times for water. I'd gone in to use the restroom and saw he was hanging at the bar chatting with the bartender. I went back to my table. He came out 5 minutes later, and still forgot the water. He was nice, but didn't write our orders down and had to ask again. We started with the cashew Mac and cheese. The flavor was unfortunately bland. The sauce needs garlic, onion powder, and salt. It lacked depth, or dimension. I had the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque. The grilled cheese was just bread with the same cashew sauce from the Mac. When I have a grilled cheese, I want rich cheese flavor, and the melted cheese to have some hold to it. Preferably stringy. As vegan cheeses have come a long way, I've had some incredible house made vegan cheeses. This lets me know that a delicious grilled cheese with great texture is possible. This just wasn't it. The gooey cashew sauce just fell out. The bisque was anything but. The texture was gritty. There was no cream. It was just a tomato soup. Also it lacked depth in flavor. So when I went to dip my grilled cheese into it as I just left with a soggy sandwich. My friend had the BBQ Southwest Bowl. Again, lacking in flavor. The jackfruit tastes like it was prepackaged, heated, and served. The vegetables were also unseasoned. This establishment has great potential. The menu has delicious sounding visions, but is deeply lacking in follow through of a flavor profile. These dishes have the potential to be rich in flavor. I will revisit in a few months to see if things have improved. I really want this restaurant to be successful. I'd be more willing to go again if at least the service had been good. read more

Five star Gluten Free Vegan menu. We shared their signature versions of fries with guacamole, crab cakes, cauliflower with buffalo sauce, Oreo ice cream and carrot cake Whoopie pie. Normally gluten free appetizers and desserts are restrictive so we went for these and loved every bite. Nothing was leftover! We sat outside on their causal patio space. It was quiet and slow paced. The food was pretty good. I am not much of a Vegan food man but my girlfriend like the place. I had some very good chili fries. I was surprised knowing how the make chili the taste was authentic. The lemon tart is a little disappointing. I think if they could change the gelatin middle it would be really tasty because the crust was very good. My GF order the Jack sliders which she had before but these BBQ wings for her was not good at all. The texture threw her off. I just don't see a wing being duplicated. Be very careful when you order something and the waitress asks you what side dish you like. We saw the added side dish would only cost $3-4 dollars extra. So we agreed and ordered. When the bill came, they charged us the whole entrée price and said what we ordered didn't come with the side dishes. Rip off! The slider is too salty. The salad didn't have enough dressing. And charged for extra dressing. Never come again. Unfortunately, we are vegan and tried to support vegan restaurants. This restaurant has damaged the vegan restaurant's reputation. Regarding the response. You can see how rude and unreasonable this restaurant is. We asked the waitress about the full price charge of the side dish and the extra charge about the dressing. But the waitress insisted that our dishes don't include the side dishes. And the restaurant charge extra dressing. She didn't offer to return the difference of the charges. It's her responsibility to offer the refund. Not our responsibility to ask for refund. You should ask the waitress to tell the truth. This place was AMAZING! We ate here during a trip to Universal Studios, and two of us in the family are vegan, so of course we had to look for vegan options that also sounded good to my husband. Based on menu and reviews, he said this one looked worthy of trying, so we did. It was so delicious! We had the Street Tacos, the BLTA with fries, and the Crab Cakes -- and everyone loved everything! (we all had to try each others') including my non-vegan husband, and my 10-year-old son. If only we lived closer, this would be our go-to place to dine out. It was so delicious! It is very lovely inside, with dark wooden tables, peaceful ambience (we went at night, so it was also dark outside), and beautifully-presented plates. Haven't been here for a minute... but was craving some thing yummy and vegetarian. I remembered their "fake BLT"... And it was better than I remembered... In fact the bacon was so "real" - I had to pause for a second when I took a big bite to make sure I wasn't really eating bacon! A caveat: while portions are generous, the pricing is unreasonable - a BLT sandwich, small side of mac and cheese and small bottle of soda comes to (wait for it...) $44 !!??! (and that's BEFORE TIP!) Also: Sometimes they don't have enough seating and you wind up uncomfortably crammed at the small bar, and they allow tables to stay for two or three hours who aren't even eating food, but "relaxing"... at a time those who are hoping to actually have a full dinner or meal are left at odds for over an hour just standing around hoping to sit comfortably. If you're craving something yummy and healthy... and don't mind the high price-tag or possible long wait for a table... this is great place to try. read more
