I have loved O Cafe for years!! And I still go almost every time I'm back in NY. I continue to swear by their bahia latte which is still the best mocha in my opinion. But I've noticed that the quality of their food is slipping.. On my last visit the paõ de queijo was stale and for the first time, my husband actually said the one I make at home is better. I hope this is a minor setback and they continue to thrive long term..

If you're a fan of unique flavors and great textures, don't miss the Lemon Almond Polenta Cake at @ocafenyc . Its coarse yet satisfying texture, paired with a hint of refreshing lemon and a perfectly crisp, caramelized exterior, is absolutely delightful. The Pão de Queijo is a classic--though it's best enjoyed fresh out of the oven for that ideal softness. Pair it with their Mocha Latte, which strikes the perfect balance with its rich chocolate flavor--neither too sweet nor too heavy. The café also has a stunning, plant-filled interior that's ideal for relaxing or capturing beautiful photos. Can't wait to return and try their light meals next time!

Brazilian cafe/coffeeshop in Chelsea. Items are priced quite high. The lentil salad was legit just lentils, chickpeas, feta and paprika. Way too expensive for the portion and not worth it. The lemon almond polenta cake was $6 and quite small. Delicious but expensive. No wifi, but there is the free NYClink that works quite well. They do have a lot of gluten free options (cheese bread). Overall not impressed and quite expensive.

Cute little coffee shop on the corner of 6 Ave and 12th St. My friend and I came to this location because we were looking for places that have a decent amount of seating. It was really easy to find a place to sit around 2pm on a Saturday. We tried the Bahia Latte, which is more like a mocha. I personally liked it because it tasted like an Abuelita's Hot Chocolate.

I came here to grab coffee with a friend on a Sunday morning. This is a cafe that serves Brazilian coffee and healthy dishes like acai bowls, smoothies, etc. I ordered a beetroot ginger latte. The latte had a strong ginger flavor surprisingly and the color was a pretty pink color from the beetroot. So why 3 stars? The service was a bit lacking. My friend ordered an acai smoothie and went to ask about it since it was taking a while. The batista gave her attitude even though my friend asked nicely and it was about 10 minutes after ordering. I showed my COVID-19 vaccination card to dine inside but they do have tables outside. I may or may not come back depending if I'm in the area.

Iced oat matcha + ricotta toast

I really wanted to like this place :-( The vibes were really good and the employees were very sweet, but the drinks and food especially were incredibly underwhelming. The iced matcha w/ oat I ordered was way too milky - it kind of just tasted like a straight up glass of milk. And the dish (ricotta toast with seeds and honey) was huuuuuge and very filling, but again, kind of tasteless. Nothing was terrible by any means, but nothing was exciting either. Don't think I'll return here anytime soon.

Had a craving for a hot chocolate- maybe the holidays - maybe the hint of winter in the air. Team was friendly and casual. Everybody sort of doing their own thing. Ordered a hot chocolate- $6 - what I got was basically like warm steamed milk with just the subtlest hint of cocoa powder that was almost discernible through the milk. Haven't been here before. Unlikely I'll return. Seems like they have a variety of food options and a large menu but I'd avoid the hot chocolate.

Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
