Came back to Marysville for the annual bok kai festival and I'M DEVASTATED THAT THEY'RE CLOSED ;___;

Aw man, I think I they closed down. I love this place. Staff is consistently super friendly and the prices are more than fair and reasonable. I bring fish and chips home for my family that eats fish and they always rave about now crispy and delicious it is- even after the 45-60 min drive! I pass through, right by this spot a few times a month in my way home from my office. It's about a half way point so I often would grab Togo dinner from here. I love their Korean/veg items and am really sad they seemed close down when I drove by last night! Bathrooms were always clean and the parking lots easy. read more

I LOVE IT! Drove past this place a few times before stoping in! I was kind of skeptical seeing a sign that says Korean food and fish and chips. But boy oh boy does the saying "the food in a hole in the wall restaurant is the best" fit ever so well! Nice cozy restaurant with a huge swamp cooler to keep you cool on a hot day (thank you owners for this)! Wide variety of choices for fried seafood. I'm a big guy and I couldn't finish the 3 pc fish and chips and a side of tempura veggies. Portions are very large and the fish pieces are not stingy. Each piece of fish I had was larger than my basket. Soda machine was kind of bland so maybe try a can instead. Lots of parking available on site. Ample amount of sauces on the sauce tray already on your table and she. Rings you out tartar and ketchup with the food! Love this place already! read more

After a friend recommended this place to me, I finally came in and tried it today! We ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, potstickers, and a bowl of Bibimbap. I'd have to say that it was just ok. Having had Korean food before in the Bay Area, I have had better. However, being that there are not very many Korean options, it definitely satisfies my cravings. I'd say the same with the sandwiches and potstickers. And what's even better... the portions are HUGE! One downside: The ice machine was down at the soda fountain but it wasn't a deal breaker. Things like that happen. The service was absolutely wonderful! The food was ready and at my table quick!!! Went to use the restroom and by the time I came out, it was done! The ambiance was pretty good. Lovely wall decor with an array of plants at the front. It has a nice hole in the wall feel to it. There was only one restroom and it was not as clean as I would have liked. But it's not a dealbreaker. In all, it was a great place to try at least once!!! We find ourselves again at this yummy restaurant. Ordered one our usuals Fish and zucchini and a new item, fish and prawns. First plate yummy as usual. The shrimp plate had three prawns nicely battered and crispy not oily. Fish perfect as usual. Our order taker was friendly as usual. Not a lot of Korean options in this area so I was surprised that this Fish & Chips place actually serves Korean food, and not just Korean food but good and tasty Korean food! The japchae and bulgogi (Korean BBQ) entrees were my favorite but for the price, wished there was a bigger portion of meat. The staff member was extremely helpful and kind, she even brought my order out to my car when it was ready since I wanted to wait in my car with my dog. This place is nostalgic of some of the restaurants from back home that I used to frequent. I appreciated the taste of the food that was offered. My dad got the fish and chips, and my wife had the largest plate with the kimchi noodles. I had the Ramen and was satisfied. We all enjoyed our food. The service was good and the food was Completed in a timely manner. The restaurant is similar to eating at a relatives home and it was comfortable. However, perhaps patrons can make more of an effort to clean up after themselves when leaving this restaurant. I would love to come back and try out some more of what they have to offer. read more

For starters, I'm not from here but I love korean food. Once I found this place, I read Yelp and Google reviews. Based on reviews and pictures, I figured I would give it a try. OUTSIDE Upon arrival, I was struck by the outside appearance and said to myself "this place looks sketchy as fuhh" The parking lot is unfinished but that can be fixed. Anyways, I sat there and contemplated about going somewhere else, but while I debated 3 cars came, got food and went. I assume they ordered to go as they weren't there that long. It gave me hope. People do eat here. INSIDE I walked in and to my surprise, the pictures on their menu looked legit, as did the staff who worked there. The decor was lack luster but the dining area overall was very clean. No music playing, just the sounds of you eating or whomever you are with or other customers dining in. There are a total of 6 tables inside that seat 4 each. FOOD I order Korean food but they also serve "Fish and Chips" I ordered beef bibimbap that came with a side of kimchi and gochujang. Presentation was pretty like their picture and exactly how I imagined. The kimchi was a bit sour for my taste but I still ate it. Veggies lacked flavor but the gochujang made it better. Beef portion was pretty small so I suggest ordering extra if you like your beef. Overall, would I come back? Yes if I was in there area. Could this place be improved? Absolutely. Does it fulfill the needs of the clients? Yes. So if you're reading this til the end, definitely check it out. It's a diamond in the rough. A hole in the wall. A place to eat. Nasty dirty place. Just look around. As I was first to arrive I sat inside for 30 minutes waiting for my people. There wasn't a single clean table and no one ever did come out to tidy up. The walls are all covered with food spills. Gross... I wont eat here again. Yuk. First visit will be our last. read more

Fish & Chips in the Yuba Sutter area is very limited... fortunately we have THE BEST Fish & Chips north of the Sacramento area! The fish is PERFECT, the portions GENEROUS, and the chips FRESH! THE BEST SPOT!! The family that owns this place is soooo nice and their food is amazing! their kimchi and other side dishes are so fresh and yummy. My favorite is thing to order is the spicy pork! They also have the BEST tteokbokki/Rapokki i've ever tried. I've been to many places and this location beats every other spot! I am pleasantly surprised that there's a place here that serves Korean food, and I wish I had visited sooner! Prices are reasonable, and this place is located on my route to and from Chico. The bibimbap with the gochujang sauce is delish. I had the crab cakes which are more imitation crab but still tastes good. It seemed like I may have interrupted the workers during a lunch break because I was the only one here when I visited, but they were very nice to me. This review is from my first visit and I hope to try more of their food in a future visit! EDIT: I dined-in and ordered tteokbokki. I have to admit that I was extremely surprised at how much I liked their fish and chips. This is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant, situated just off a small but busy highway next to a dental office. Inside it is fairly small and understated, with about a half dozen tables. You place your order at the counter. I was going back and forth between the 2 and 3 piece fish and chips and glad I went with the 2. The pieces are massive, definitely worth the $10 for the plate. I am a sauce person so I loved how they gave a large squeeze bottle of tartar sauce for the table. The fish was cooked perfectly. It didn't fall apart like Gordon Ramsay's Fish and Chips fish in Vegas but it wasn't over-fried either. The taste, texture and overall flavor put it in my top 3 fish and chips of all time. Service was friendly. I will be back to try their Korean BBQ stuff as well. read more

Oh what a culinary surprise! We stopped by, from Sacramento, on our way to go hiking. Who would have thought that a restaurant run by a Korean couple serving traditional Korean food alongside Fish and Chips (and other fastfood items) was going to be super good!? I ordered Soon Tofu which was just okay, but what made it great were the added banchans and the fact that I was surprised to even be having it that day. The biggest reveal was the Fish and Chips which was made from scratch (not the frozen kind). It's light, crisp, and the fish seemed fresh (enough). Our son had their burger and he also rated it highly. All in, with 2 fountain drinks, we paid less than $50 (minus tip). It's about 45mins drive from Sacramento but we would not mind coming back again just for their Fish and Chips (and Korean food on the side). read more

It's a small restaurant across Marysville veterinary hospital, the food was pretty good. Not that many people eating inside during the time of our visit but a lot of people come & go, ordering to go. We all ordered different things, mine was the salmon teriyaki. The fish was seasoned nicely but the salmon is a bit overcooked. read more

Love this locally owned fish and chips place. Bonus is that they also serve Korean dishes as well. The fish I've gotten here has always been fresh, not oily, and cooked to a delicious golden brown crust. My favorite is the fish sandwich though. It comes on a large roll with lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce and has a really fresh taste, not like a fast food fish sandwich. It's large enough that my girlfriend and I share it and split the fries it comes with. I have yet to sample their Korean dishes, but will do in the future. I would recommend this to anyone passing through Marysville. read more

We found this little gem while visiting in Yuba. The food and service is excellent. The restaurant is small but feels very warm and homey. We all love the food especially the korean food. It's rare for our kids to eat a lot because they're picky but they ate almost everything from this little restaurant. When we come back to Yuba, we definitely will come back here! read more

Went in for lunch with my SO and we tried the teriyaki chicken, the tteobokki, the bibimbap and the fish and chips. The teriyaki chicken was delicious; flavorful/ balanced. The tteobokki was the right amount of spice/perfect texture. The bibimbap was good but lacked some kind of sauce; my SO did not want to use the spicy sauce they gave on the side so that was probably what it was.
