Visited this place on our last night on vacation. Wasn't very busy, but the view looked fantastic and prices seemed reasonable. Server was prompt and friendly and seated us with a great view of the ocean. I got the Grouper sandwich which was pretty average, but my son and daughter both got the fried Flounder and Shrimp basket, and it was wonderful! Lightly battered so the fish/shrimp stood out! My niece got a "Matty Melt" because she doesn't care for seafood and she said that it was great. Very big portions as well, a pleasant surprise to get such a good meal in a place that looks more of a bar than a restaurant. Great spot to wrap a great vacation. read more

This restraunt is a SCAM they listed the tax on our bill for double what the South Carolina tax is the charged an extra dollar for water and to top it off the service was awful and they add the tip automatically so they don't even get the tip he deserved nothing. read more

This is a place that you do not want to visit for any reason. The beach is full of little pubs with unremarkable menus and all of them are withing walking distance of this place. I actually tried it twice because I thought possibly the first time was just random bad service, bad food and lings waits. That is not the case. It was the same when I went back the second time. The bar staff cannot answer simple questions about the menu items and the servers tend to give the impression that bringing your order to you is a great imposition on their time. The food, based on the two items I had is disgusting. When a burger or a hot dog is terrible, it's a pretty safe bet that nothing else is going to be great. I would also advise you to review your bill very closely. Both times, I found errors on my bill. Once the pricing was incorrect based on the menu prices and the second time there was an extra beer that I did not order. At least they're consistent. Don't let this place ruin your beach trip. read more

Food here was just okay. My mom liked her fish but her sweet potato fries had zero flavor and were soggy. They were pretty terrible. We stopped here for dinner on our arrival at the beach. The wife and I both had the shrimp platter and the kids had chicken strips and a burger. Shrimp and the fries were very good. Coleslaw was ok but not anything great. Both my kids gave 2 thumbs up on their food and they are pretty picky. We were able to snag a table inside that had ocean views and we could feel the breeze as a storm was rolling in. Got a big ol bite of some warm ass sour smelling coleslaw (my bad for not smelling it first!!!!) and when I told the manager he said well it's cabbage that's how it's smells. WHAT?! They brought several cups and one of them smelled normal (not sour) so I asked the manager to smell them both and he smelled it and asked me to leave and brought to go boxes and the check. Just realized why they call this town dirty myrtle. It's places like this pandering crap to tourists that helps foster the dastardly reputation. Great location, sad excuse for a restaurant. Maybe stick to bottled beverages and don't eat if you must stop here. Clearly they couldn't care less about food safety and quality and the person who was managing is a joke. I haven't been yelled at and asked to leave by a restaurant manager ever in my life when complaining that I ate spoiled food. Was I upset about eating the spoiled mayonnaise? Yes. And rightfully so. My family and I stopped here to hang out for a bit after walking around on the boardwalk. I would say our experience was better than I expected based on the other reviews I read here. We sat for a while at a picnic table outside, but then some bad weather started rolling in, so we moved inside. I thought the bar and restaurant area had a nice layout. Large sections of the walls are actually "garage doors," and they were open during our visit, so we didn't feel like we were totally inside and we could still get a nice view of the beach and ocean. They also had the air conditioning going inside, so it wasn't nearly as hot as outside, either. I thought the decor was fine. We didn't get a meal, although my daughter did get an appetizer - the crab cakes - and she liked them. I also have no complaints about the service. The staff was friendly and did their jobs well and professionally. I noticed a comment from a fellow reviewer about the horrible state of the restrooms, but while we were there I remember being surprised at how clean and nice the ladies room was. Maybe they remodeled the restrooms or something. I would definitely not classify this as a dive bar. We had a very nice, relaxing visit. read more

Classic Beach Front Dive Bar and Restaurant! Especially great now that it sits right on the new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. If you are heading to the Boardwalk/Downtown Myrtle Beach area, the Ocean Front Grill makes a great lunch stop. Parking is easy. There are some on-street spaces, and a huge parking deck just two blocks away. This place is located around the corner from the worl-famous Bowery, and sits on the ocean side. The food is good- burgers, hot dogs, fish (both grilled and fried)-- so what you'd expect. The also have a full bar, and some cheap bee er specials ($2 Bud Light drafts while I was there). The kids will like the deep fried candy bars! GREAT people watching spot. The restaurant is open-air, and there is a patio on the boardwalk with tables, chairs, and some tall Adirondack chairs. Fun wait staff. Not gourmet, just old-school beach. read more

Our waiter was fine, but the overall experience and food was bad. The food was gas station quality. The 'funnel cake fries' were just a really burnt funnel cake. The worst. A great location but beyond that, I was disappointed we even came in here. We came in around lunch. We were traveling as a group of nine, but sat ourselves at two tables and separated. They don't split checks here for groups larger than 9, and considering we were at the beach and no one really brought their entire wallet (my husband and I carried a credit card only), that was going to be an issue. We sat down and ordered as the two tables, the waitress obviously treating us as one. Fortunately we only ordered some drinks. She explained she could not split us into two tables. We said we would be fine if they went ahead and added the gratuity to the two tables (they also add gratuity automatically to groups larger than 6 which I am always fine with), but to go ahead and treat us as separate groups. We didn't care if food/drinks came out even close to together. We really just needed to be able to split the checks. But they were unwilling to do that. Drinks came and we offered up that if we couldn't split the two tables, we would have to leave. That's what we ended up doing. Sad to lose business on something so silly. The waitress was not friendly from the beginning, but after that it was worse. I'm surprised she even came back to give the checks. Drinks tasted fine - I personally ordered water and my husband Coke here though as it was early. I sipped on someone else's just to judge a bit. Check their menu - they charge $1.00 for water. A bar that charges for water. Seriously the worst. Just an overpriced, super dirty dive bar that isn't worth the time of day. Bad service. Can't say much for the food other than it's all fried and what not. There are better places with similar food that have better service and policies in the area. Not sure which one the real one, so I'll post the same in both "Oceanfront" and "Ocean Front". Wow, what a let down! I know that one should expect a certain level of touristy crap food on a boardwalk strip, but this place takes the cake. The waitress was ALL over the place. She was nervous and rushed and was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. It wasn't even that busy for what it was. Took 10 minutes just for me to get a beer at the bar. But anyway... I had the garlic parmesan wings...simple. They were served up in a huge grease moat, making them soggy and really hard to chew on. I felt my arteries seizing with each bite. Pretty they were slightly undercooked as well, due to the fact the meat really didn't want to come away from the bone. After 2, I was done! My lady had the seafood platter. The fish was super thin and over battered, the fried oysters were like chewing on a piece of car tire, and the shrimp were these small, sad, "popcorn" shrimp things. The only thing decent on the platter were the fries, but they only give you about 10 of those. To say the least...this place is awful. Never going back, and never recommending. read more

Perfect dive for a burger and fries. Great experience and greater view. Me and the fam stopped in for a quick dinner, and we were not dissapointed. The prices are fair and the food is good. I had the seafood platter which was fresh (not frozen) seafood. My wife had the Matty Melt which was a huge fresh burger patty melt. The kids had a standard grilled cheese. We sat on picnic tables right on the boardwalk and listened to the live band playing inside. The service was great. All around slam dunk! read more
