It's sashimi with a lot of extra accoutrements you'd expect in a Korean restaurant. We started with porridge and miso soup, and lots of banchan, including cheesecorn and steamed egg. Then came the sashimi platter. In Korean sushi houses, you get to have soy sauce AND a gochujang based sauce (it's gochujan and vinegar). They also gave us sesame oil + salt and dried seaweed which I think is for the tuna. Then there was tokoyaki, fried rice cakes, tempura, spicy fish stew, grilled fish, fried salmon skin, fried chicken, and spicy marinated crab. All while getting refills on the banchan. It was exactly what I was wanting, as I have not found anything like it in Seattle! Keep expectations low... it's food court fare after all…read more Aki is one of nine restaurant stalls at the Food Source. They are on the second floor of the mall. Parking is free and space is plentiful, though finding a close spot can be challenging sometimes. Parking on Level 2 or Level 3, you'll have to walk some stairs anyways because the mall floors don't line up perfectly with the parking structure. You can't order directly at the restaurant itself. There are touchscreen kiosks near the entrance and you pay for your food there. The machine prints out a receipt, and the restaurant will call out the number when it's ready for pick up at the counter. Occasionally one of the kiosks will be out of order, so there will be a long line at the one that is functional when that happens. Sometimes they'll place a staff member at the register to start taking orders. Seating is adequate, lots of tables and I never really had to wait long for one to open up during busy hours. I've eaten at most of the stalls, so I tried something new and ordered at Aki Sushi. They pretty much serve all the classic rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and tempura. I went with a rainbow roll, which is usually a colorful array of avocado and alternating slices of salmon, tuna, etc. Their rendition looks sloppily made but can't say I was surprised. Mediocre quality fish with a gummy texture, and the rice was just whatever.
