Dropped by for their opening weekend and enjoyed our meal here. They open at 4PM and at 4:15 there was a line out the door trying to get a table. After about 10 minutes we put our name in and we're told it would be 25-30 minutes. After not hearing for an hour we went to check the status of our wait and were told they entered the wrong phone number for us. This was quite frustrating as the number they took down was not even close to what we provided. The gentleman that made the mistake stopped by our table and apologized for the error. We were compensated with free drinks for the mishap which was nice and we appreciate that they admitted to their mistake and wanted to make it right. The beers were all very good but we really liked Bliss the most. For our meals we went with the cheeseburger which was a double burger and fresh cut fries. I had the fried chicken meal which came with a wing, drum, breast, and a thigh. This was paired with Hawaiian rolls and some macaroni salad. Our entrees were great and we enjoyed the flavors offered in each dish. I imagine in the summer this will be a go to spot in the Bethany beach area and I would recommend getting there early to give them a try. read more

Excellent food and service! We arrived yesterday around 5:15 and the place was packed and was told it would be a 45 minute wait. We ended up being seated in less than 10 mins (yay!). We sat on the cute outside patio area which was very cozy. Our server (sorry, I forget her name) was on point! We ordered the street corn nachos with guacamole and they were awesome and served maybe 5 mins after we ordered them! My fiancé had the burger and hand cut fries for his entree. His burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were also delicious...reminded me of Thrashers fries (if you're local you know what I mean lol) I had the sloppy joe Dan Dan noodles and all I can say is wow! Delightfully sweet, spicy and savory. For a newish restaurant that was at max capacity on a busy Saturday night at the beach, I was extremely pleased with the quality of food and service. We left full and happy in less than an hour! We will definitely go back soon...I saw several other options on the menu I can't wait to try! read more

OVB was hopping when we arrived for dinner around 8 on a Thursday evening, so we had a 30-minute wait for a table for 2. But it was worth it! For our app, we ordered the street corn nachos with guacamole for $5 extra. I was skeptical of the hot cheetos, but they worked surprisingly well with the other ingredients. The nachos would have been kind of dry without the guacamole, so I'm glad we ordered some. For my main, I ordered the crispy orange cauliflower. I'm pescetarian, but mostly eat vegetarian, so I was excited OVB had a substantial veggie main on the menu, unlike many other restaurants in the area. The cauliflower was tasty, like orange chicken or tofu, as were the green beans, although they were a little spicier than I like. My fiancé, who likes spicy foods, thought they were good. The Basmati rice nicely balanced the stronger flavors of the cauliflower and the beans. I really wanted dessert, but I was full after sharing an app and my entrée. Plenty of food, lots of flavor. Atmosphere was part causal restaurant, part sports bar. Waitstaff was friendly. I'd come back again the next time we're in town. read more

The menu was very different, which is refreshing. The duck confit egg rolls were delicious. My husband who considers himself a cheeseburger expert felt this burger was one of the best he's every had. Tried Ocean view Brewery for the first time and it did not disappoint. Atmosphere was great and so was the food. Our party ordered the Old Bay Carbonara and the Henny Penny Fried chicken. For the lighter side, the kitchen sink salad with the citrus salad hit the spot. The flight was a nice way to try the beer selection. Really enjoyed my visit to Ocean View Brewery. Great selection of beers on tap to make up a flight of four 5-oz beers. Got an order of the hummus which was amazing! It came with carrots, celery, olives, feta, and bagel chips. Had a nice spice blend on it and was great in presentation and taste. Better/more than I expected. Service was excellent - from the gentleman who seated us to the woman who attended our table. It felt like a family atmosphere and I really appreciated it. Looking forward to coming again! read more

Beautiful decor, great service but the chicken salad was a disappointment. The dijon mustard was all I tasted. The chicken is minced.

I brought my son and grandsons here for dinner and was VERY disappointed. I got a Caesar salad made with wilted red lettuce and no grated cheese. It was awful. I don't think this is a place for food. Go for drinks and maybe appetizers. I would not go back here. I enjoy the other SODEL restaurants and was so disappointed in this one. It is not up to par with the other restaurants. Been here twice and got the same thing (cheeseburger) both times because it was that good. I've also tried the nachos with cheese and cheese curls (?) and other stuff on them and they were pretty good too, but I don't know if I'd get them again. The menu isn't huge but it has a pretty solid variety of things on it. I'm not a big beer person so I can't say much about that, but I've had a couple other drinks there and they were good (a cider and something with pineapple in it). It's pretty loud inside and every time I've gone it's been really crowded. The outside area has heaters in it so it's actually pretty warm out there in the wintertime. I'd go back. read more

We love this place. We've had just about every thing on the menu. The burger is the best in Bethany as are the deviled eggs. The menu is different from the other SoDel restaurants but every bit as good. Beware of the sloppy joe Dan Dan noodles. They are way spicer than the menu suggests, but if you like spicy then you will love them. The staff at OVB is 100% committed to good service and customer satisfaction. Been wanting to go here for awhile in season but I wasn't willing to stand in a line. Met my brother tonight for happy hour. The four of us arrived at 4:15 but since the bar and and rail were full we were excluded from happy hour which I found irritating. We got the hummus, cheese steaks, pretzel (which was a bit stale but eatable) and salmon entree. Everything was quite good and we really enjoyed the flights. The hostess was kind of blah but the servers were all very pleasant. Being locals we really enjoy specials and happy hours in the off season. Probably won't be in a hurry to go back here because even if I arrive just after 4, I probably can't get happy hour. OVB should really consider expanding happy hour to at least the whole bar section. Bluecoast includes the whole bar area including tables. Hooked has seen the light and includes the entire restaurant in happy hour. read more

My second visit. First one was about few weeks after it opened. Seems the menu was a bit more varied and interesting. Fried zucchini was not sliced but instead a zucchini was quartered and fried but breading didn't adhere. Worthless. Burgers were dry and flavorless, chicken salad sandwich was basically a tablespoon of chicken salad and one piece of bacon and it was sloppily put together. Wife and I visited for first time with my son, daughter and their spouses on post Labor Day vacation. Party of six. Not big drinkers but son and I had couple of drafts. Beer was fine. Had a bit of a mis-communication with our waitress. We ordered two Harvest salads to be split and then our mains. Expected the salads to be served first but everything was served together. I told manager who helped serve food that I didn't want my main course with my salad and she said she would take back and recook for when I was done with my salad. I appreciated that. My salad and my main, the pork meat loaf were excellent and everyone else thought their food was excellent: burger, burrito, wings, chicken salad sandwich. When we got the bill there was no charge for my meat loaf. That was not necessary but an indication the manager understands how to make customers happy.
