Boy did this place fall off quickly! I used to trek out to the Jackson heights location before this closer spot opened up. They started strong and have since declined. Started to become inconsistent during the start of Covid, fine. But they're now consistently bad. I had a bag of inedible dried out seafood. Honestly no one should call themselves a chef serving such subpar food, even a chain on queens boulevard. I've had a far more satisfying experience at the local hood spots. I just had a vacation in a town which was pretty much all seafood. So to be fair I'll give them a break since they are not by the ocean. HOWEVER, I went with my gf who doesn't really eat seafood since they had burgers on the menu. Here we go! The first set of drinks we ordered a mojito and a Corona took close to 10 minutes. There were two people at the bar, 1 table with 2 people and a staff to the best of my recco was about 5 employees. She ordered the sliders and I ordered the crab cake. The crab cake was an oily mess. It was sitting in a nice dish in a puddle of oil. I had to remove it from the dish and when I asked for a plate they gave me paper plates with plastic utensils. Then they tied a paper napkin around it thinking it was fancy. As I pushed the fork into the crab cake I could see oil swell out of it. I was hungry and decided to go in anyway. First bite was disgusting second bite was worse. I pushed it away and had one of my gf sliders. Very bland again took two bites. The server never checked in on us and when they took the plate away they didn't ask if everything was ok. They just grabbed it and left as my disappointment was written all over my face. Now I'm pissed! I kept trying to flag down the server to get my check and they were busy having a conversation at which point I walked up and said "I need my check" I don't understand why restaurants think they can get away with charging an arm and a leg for crappy service and food. Hey oceanic owners, you pay a little more for quality food, get experienced staff and you make your money on the return business. Oh yeah they didn't even say thank you. Avoid this place! The food here is amazing. The only reason it's falling a star short is because of their service. I spent 15 minutes trying to order for delivery over the phone and they still got my order wrong. Even though I repeated the order 5 or 6 times over the phone we were missing things. I'm pretty sure we already paid for the food that they missed but they didn't give me a receipt so I I couldn't even check and ended up paying 45 bucks extra. Then trying to explain this to the woman over the phone was an even bigger nightmare. This completely derailed our dinner plans and we ended up waiting half an hour for the rest of the food so we ate cold food. I'd give a 0 if I could. Rude staff - slow / terrible service - bad food - high prices. ...asked the waiter if I could order raw oysters by piece instead of 1/2 or 1 dozen. (many places offer this) His answer was "this is not sushi" My jaw dropped and I was in shock how rude and terrible this male waiter was. (sitting there with my elderly mom, my entire lunch was ruined as I saw how upset and sad she was). Also, we were served by about 5 waiters that day, after the sushi comment. We were the only ones there mid-day. I have never ever been treated this rude in any restaurant, I was nearly speechless. I told the waiter, "hmm, really? Sushi? Went here last night with friends. Really great food!! The service was really great, servers kept checking in on us. The seafood is really juicy and consistent throughout. We ordered the snow crabs boil, shrimp boil, garlic bread, sausages, lobster roll, shrimp basket and mac + cheese. Lobster Roll: very meaty, bread is fluffy and light. It tasted fine but we will be ordering more seafood boil instead next time! Snow crabs and seafood boil: Big pieces of Shrimp, you can get head on or off. Snow crabs are a great size with good amounts of meat. Shrimp basket, Mac + Cheese, garlic bread, and sausages were amazing! Would definitely order again! Bread is light, fluffy and crunch all at the same time. Mac and cheese has a really nice kick to it! So so happy this place finally opened! We've honestly been watching week by week the progress and then COVID hit and everything was uncertain so when we found out they opened, we went right away. We were not disappointed. Altogether they had outdoor dining, we opted for take out just cause we only live a couple of blocks away and nothing beats eating with your bare hands at home (also we ate with a side of rice ). We ordered a lb. Of crab legs and a lb. of shrimp with spicy garlic sauce. The bag came with potatoes and corn as well. All I can say is mm mm mm mm mm. It was so tasty and delish that it left us wanting more (only because of gluttony....one lb. each meat was definitely enough for two people). As for the price...well it's seafood so you can't expect it to be cheap. I think it's well worth it to satisfy your seafood cravings but definitely not a meal you should be having often (cue all the butter). Check this place out and you won't be disappointed! Tip: if you're ordering take out...i suggest calling the place itself because upon later comparison, uber eats or seamless prices were a dollar or two more than the restaurant menu. It was sunday night and was craving for seafood. Heard a lot of good things about this southern seafood restaurant. Made a call to see their availability for 3 of us and luckily enough we got the table for us (they always packed everytime i drove by) . The service was excelent and friendly staff,our glass always filled up and always paid attention to our needs. The food was incredibly good, we ordered 2 combo snow crab&shrimp with 2 different sauces. Both are licking good specially the garlic butter with oceanic seasoning. Thanks to our server reccomendation. Also ordered some clam chowder, lobster roll,spinach and they're all excelent. Heard some good things about this place and decided to give it a try. We had snow crab legs, garlic noodles, shrimp and calm chowder. The snow crab legs and shrimp were fresh and a good sized. They packed everything very nicely, but I felt they gave too little sauce. Definitely would recommend trying their oceanic boil sauce. So we went Saturday night for the first time. The outdoor dining experience was nice. Good portions, friendly staff & hot fresh food, It was worth the money. It was really unenjoyable so the next day we decided to order again but we took it to go & i feel like we were cheated. I have ordered from this place to-go twice now and both times the seafood was slightly overcooked and especially second time my order barely had any sauce. I ordered the combo of shrimp and snow crab legs and there was so sauce on any of the crab legs. I attempted to shake it myself but there was not enough sauce to coat it. Right now theres no option to be inside so they have outside seating with compliance to social distancing and staff are working hard and very helpful. DO NOT get the garlic noodles. As a seafood lover all I have to say about this place is...OMG!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This was my first visit and I got the 1lb of shrimp with the butter and lemon pepper sauce which comes with potato and corn. I legit died and went to heaven but came back cause god knows I need to have more of this. Lol The place is super clean and has all the protections to keep people safe like a jug of hand sanitizer at the entrance, plastic glass at the bar area, and the booths have people facing away so you're not in their space. The staff is attentive and friendly. They also set up a cool outside area to eat which is going to be amazing this summer. Everyone seemed so relaxed as they ate outside. The staff and Afran who bought out my order was extremely nice! Food was very good. Friendly servers. Very clean here and they have outdoor dining. I chose to get take out because the parking meter didn't have too much time left after shopping. Extensive menu made it hard to choose so I went the greedy route. I got the crab cake (I thought it read crab cakesss but I guess not) it was still good. hot and crispy and nice size with lots of crab and not much fillers. It came with fries which I didn't want but I guess they're necessary if you're serving one crab cake. I also had calamari because I order calamari pretty much every where I go that serves it. The calamari was pretty good probably would have been better if I ate it there because they get soggy as I got down under the top layer of hot ones. Still good though and I'd definitely order again. I also ordered steamed shrimp to take home to my children but they had the heads on and had I known this I wouldn't have ordered them because that's gross. I didn't take a picture of them (because like I said gross) they weren't worthy smh they were quite mushy. I couldn't understand why because I was pretty much the first customer on this Saturday afternoon. They went to waste because no kid wants to eat anything with eyes lol. They will do mushy (gross) but not eyes. The peach lemonade was also very nice while I waited for my food. I don't think it should go by how much u spend on your meal, I just didn't want shrimps. Seafood is expensive and if a customer is spending their money they expect to have a decent meal! I have been meaning to try this place when it opened. I went by but just never got a chance. Today was the day that I made it and I am so glad that I went. First off, we started with the soft shell crab appetizer. It was good but there was nothing special about it. We both ordered off the Ala cart menu. I got the lobster and clams. My friend got the crab legs. (king and snow crab legs) The meals were amazing. I can't even think of anything negative to say...the sauce the freshness of the seafood AMAZING!!! The quantity is so worth the money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BOIL with the spicy sauce. (My mouth waters thinking about it!!!) We loved the clams SOOOOOO much that we ordered and finished another order of clams. They were so good!! I will definitely be back for it. We came on Thursday evening and the service was great. Thankfully we had a great waitress who gave us spot on recommendations to first timers. We also had the manager of the restaurant coming out and checking up on us. Can't ask for better service!!! We almost ordered food and it is good that we didn't. By the time the food would get to us, all of it would be cold. (I read the order reviews.) Recommendation, if you order, make sure you reheat in the OVEN, not the microwave. (OWNER TOLD US!) If you nuke your seafood you will regret it. And with such great food, you will destroy it. :(( And last but not least we met Ming, one of the owners who was so hands on that he check up on us in the outdoor dining area which was expertly and thoughtfully constructed.
